    Love the point that the "omg the stripper's dead" would typically have been an inciting incident for a bro-comedy.

      EXACTLY. So much of what happens in this film seems like an intro to a bro-comedy film (especially the stripper-dead part and Christopher Mintz-Plasse's scene). That's what makes this movie so good is how it calls all of these things out!

    i have never watched ANY film where I felt like the director/writer actually had been in situations I had been in. I cant stop watching interviews with her because I feel so comforted by seeing her and knowing she understands. same with carey mulligan. watching all their interviews has just felt like a warm hug

    All the best to Carey Mulligan & Emerald Fennell for the Oscar nominations on Monday 🙌

      Don't worry. I'm sure they will all get Oscar nominations as they are tightly following the leftist political dogma with this film.

    Ms Mulligan is among the most gifted actors in current cinema. I cannot BELIEVE this film didn't garner international acclaim for its greatness. I have screened a very great number, indeed, of films, and Fennell and Mulligan are scintillating. Spellbinding. Superb. I wish each of them every success in their profession, and in their lives. It takes a lot for me to shed tears over cinema, yet flowed they did at the conclusion of this masterpiece. Other current actors could only WISH to be so fabulous. Thank you for sharing such genius.

    I just saw this movie last night on HBO. I thought it was brilliant. The shots compositions, the story, the main character, it was all so tense and emotional. That's why I'm looking at breakdowns, so I can extract and possibly use the things that worked from this film in my own films. I was pissed when I thought they would all get away with it. But Cassie got the last laugh. That was so satisfying.

    My question is what did the different colors of ink in the notebook means for the names and the tallies? We think we saw all of blue play out, But not black and not red.

    • @Jordan-pb1iq
      @Jordan-pb1iq Před 2 lety +4

      I always assumed the red was maybe for when maybe the guy turned a bit violent maybe. I think the actress who played cassie said in one interview they shot a scene where she had a bruise on her wrist from when it hadn't gone as she planned.

    And justice is served. The ending was best movie ending ever. I got chills when Cassie’s scheduled text comes thru. Omg. And that Juice Newton song....and another then another text....and another text...the music..and a feeling of finally getting justice for Nina. Goosebumps. I love it when the bad guys get what they deserve....and there is finally justice (thx to Cassie) . Great actors. A nasty subject that ruins so many young people’s lives.
    But this whole movie worked, for me. Cassie was so upset....she could never have stayed with that guy she liked...when she hears his voice on the tape. Cassie’s death was sad...but the movie had to end exactly as it did. Didn’t expect it tho...💫👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Sounds like safety precautions were definitely not adequate. Someone should have noticed that Carey Mulligan had not turned her head sideways and could not get any air to breathe. She literally could have died doing that scene. That is not what movie-making should be about. Yes, it needs to look realistic, but you cannot risk people´s lives to make it look so and no, having hand gestures to indicate you are suffocating is not enough! If she had passed out, she wouldn´t be able to make hand gestures and by the time they realized she had passed out she could be dead or too far gone to be revived.
