I grew up in a community where this kind of music was the most popular, I'm talking about mid '50's to the end of '60's, then I emigrated to U.S.A. around '72 and this beautiful music still was very much in fashion here in U.S.A. I used to listening to this music when I was driving after work in my way home. I don't know why there are not F.M. radio stations that continue with broadcasting this unforgettable music, we are millions of people who will gladly listen to this. Today I only listen to this music thru my C.D.'s that I have with me in my car or home. I never listen to today's radio stations, only noise with a beat.

We have so many great options today ... podcasts, CD's, Pandora, CZcams playlists, Alexa/Prime, etc. I can't stand the radio anymore, with so many ads, and hardly any music I actually enjoy. Besides, my community is fairy rural so our FM "dial" choices are slim: NPR (opera on weekends, which I won't listen to), "Classics" of the 60's-90's (loads of Billy Joel, Huey Lewis, Michael Jackson), and a Top 40 station with tunes from Nicki Minaj, Drake or Ariana Grande.
In the car, I keep CD's of music, my homemade mix discs, and also homemade CD's of television shows-- like Seinfeld, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Frasier (episodes that I converted to audio and burned to disc; three shows fit on a disc). Good riddance to regular radio stations, along with their incessant and repetitive ads, and the stupid DJ's that always seem to talk over the song intros, LOL.
@@johnlennon1049 Do you stream any TV? It's so nice to enjoy shows without commercials. Unless you meant you don't watch anything on TV-- cable or Netflix, Hulu.

I'll Remember April. The music was written in 1941 by Gene De Paul, and lyrics by Patricia Johnston and Don Raye.. Gene De Paul is the melody composer of Seven Brides for 7 Brothers, with words by Johnny Mercer.
Lying on my couch on my veranda listening to this kind of music brings lots of lovely memories.Tears would slowly fill my eyes and breathing gets a bit heavier.Closing my eyes I could bring back myself to the bygone days.How I wish the music world could bring back the lovely melodies at least once a week on the radio.

There's a time and place for all of it. Sometimes I am in the mood for "loud, insulting music", sometimes I am in the mood for something that transports me.
I've always had a soft spot for easy listening music, ever since I was a kid. It's strange that they don't record music like this anymore, when there used to be so much of it! Think of all the moms and pops that made a living playing on recordings like these! A whole industry GONE.
This music evokes a time when the world was a lot less crazy. ..a lot more romance and a lot more civility. .
Don't forget the first half of the 20th Century was global wars and death on a massive scale, I would say that is pretty crazy and uncivilized. But your point is well taken nonetheless. Civility and good manners are the foundation of good society.
An interesting topic.. things, technologically, were much simpler, the frenetic pace of society was maybe more 'manageable', but my deceased parents and relatives might suggest otherwise; still everything does seem geared for acceleration.
I thoght music like the above was rather vapid and I was mystified by it in my youth (I was 'musically sensitive', thanks to a father that seldom strayed far from the music of the day!), but now I love it: it instantly takes me to wonderful memories of those loved ones, their times (and struggles) and their laughter, all a blissful reminder to me of how precious life is...and how important it is for me to remember and treasure what is being lost every day..
I don't 'idealize' it; I see it for what it is: a past with beauty, joys, sorrows, in a framework of evanescence, a panorama we can scarcely comprehend in the streaming of moments, until.. one day, we SEE it with a blinding fragility and charm..
Something to be treasured..

Thanks for posting in today's world we forget how beautiful music actually sounds and how soothing it can be. I listen 2 a station that once in a while plays orchestra music such as this and remember when they used to play it all the time on the radio maybe we need to go back to that instead of rap and loud insulting music we get today.

I love music like this, but fans such as you always seem to talk of it as either / or in terms of appreciation possibilities. I love a lot of rap music, too. Easy listening fans have many times bashed rap, but I've never yet heard a rap fan criticize easy listening music. It reminds me of rock fans criticizing disco and it seems to never be vice versa. (Also people who hate rap never seem to call it hip hop. That would be considered too respectful I guess.) I'd think great easy listening music like this would attract a lot of mature gentlemen who would consider it classless and below them to trash an entire different music genre, as if it is all garbage, just because it is not to their personal taste.
Yesterday (03/20/17), I decided to go into my local goodwill store and browse the record collection. And lo and below, I found this exact album (in good condition).....for $1.00 ***BEST MONEY I SPENT ALL YEAR SO FAR***

When I was a boy living on an Air Force Base up in Ohio my mom and dad would listen to this music all the time I'm 65 now . Some other music to listen to on a rainy night is Vangelis Blade Runner soundtrack, "Blade Runner Blues" it's awesome on a rainy night, this is awesome as well, thank you for this post.

Yes, I agree, all the ONE NAME WONDERS, with little or no talent!
It'll totally come back into style, in fact, it's probably already happening! a) because romance it's too much a part of human nature and b) fashions are cyclical (i.e. prog rock gave way to punk, which gave way to the "new romantics", which gave way to metal, which gave way to grunge, which gave way to "emo", etc.). Beyond that, this music is just too good.

This album really sets the tone for a rainy evening or an autumn evening when that certain chill hits the air. So beautiful and restful -- I could leave this earth accompanied by this music and not regret one sad moment spent here. 5/2018
