mad respect for sonic fox, he just goes from game to game, representing himself. no matter how much we look forward to seeing if he'll go down, he always shows that he knows his games very well. he just earned a fan. can't not respect too long, land yourself right in the hater squad.

Yeah, SonicFox was going heavy on the trolling, teabagging and "I am going to lose deliberately so we have more matches" in this set. It was funny as hell. Though, I find the end game interview where he told him to sit down and shut up essentially as to kind of taking it too far.
I have to say though, I haven't seen someone deliberately playing bad (at times you can confirm that he is doing that easily by trolling moves - but the other match we have to take his word for it) and still be comfortable at beating Punk.
Even after that winners finals match, both of them were still talking to each other for awhile. It seems like they have a friendly rivalry going on.

In a recent interview he called himself a Skullgirls player and says that made him good at this game due to their similarities.
Polypora yeah he has always been a Skullgirls player and is very close with that community and Mike Z. But its not as popular or as watched as NRS, so people just consider him to be that...and that's including his success in other games.
Polypora He is just a good fighting game player in general. Like you can’t say he is good at NRS games because of Skull Girls. He is just a god at every fighting game he touches. It’s fair to call him an NRS player because that’s what he has played the most and won the most and is the most popular for.

Folks are surprised? SonicFox loves Skullgirls, and Skullgirls is an off the record Marvel game and is hella reset heavy. lack of offline bracket numbers keeps it lowkey in the mainstream eyes, but the game is still very active via netplay. MVCI's game speed seems to be reduced compared to Skullgirls/older Marvels, so i guess the SG scene is gonna collect money if they decide to play this.

After watching the video when he took them off, it was like when one member of the group takes off the "power restraints" and then now that he has revealed his super saiyan god mode, he doesnt need the restraints anymore and he's just, you know..hanging out.. Rocket Racoon looks broken after seeing Sonicfox consistently force setplay on his opponents even if they defend & can fight back. His low health does not even matter. He falls out of combos regularly, even adjusted combos do not work. That alone is more valueable than the health bar, just more chances to mount setplay offense again.

It was only 3-2, because SonicFox was trolling, teabagging, and deliberately doing stupid bullshit to toy with him the entire set. This was is the most amount of extra bs I have seen going on in a match in what seems like years. The first set, the winners finals, SF wasn't doing as much nonsense, and went 3-0 on punk.

This is what happens when capcom turns an already laxed combo system into elementary friendly.
Execution isn't the be all end all part of fighting games. Maybe if there's some advanced tech that is execution heavy, yeah the skill involved to make that work is a part of being a good player but that's more or less always a matter of practice. Almost anyone through practice can learn high execution tech through dedication. Then what? If everyone can do the same advanced tech through practice? What are the things you can't learn just by training mode monstering it? Stuff like reads, intuition, footsies, movement, conversions off stray hits, mind games, intelligent mix ups, all that stuff is way more important than execution which like I said, anyone can just learn through repetition. The other stuff takes brains and experience.
doesnt help that SonicFox is a Skullgirls lord either, and that game is faster/more complex than MVCI.
laudanum09 someone understands what makes fighting games special. Finally! I'm sick of everyone thinking technical controls and inaccessibility is what makes a fighting game what it is. Fact of the matter is execution is simply the first and least important barrier in this genre. As far as I'm concerned getting people into the thick of it faster makes it better for everyone. Not everyone likes spending hours on end in training mode just to control their character properly.
Skills from other games would carry over if you're talking about these world class players.

Nobody can really compare to him. Takes Fchamp 4 games to download him enough to start taking games and making it seem less free. So unless some how Sonic ends up in losers and Fchamp is in winners it will be a 3-0 without a doubt. Justin made Chris G look free and they both are high in the CPT, so they dividing their practice right now. So yeah till CPT is over nobody will touch Sonic fox. He might get all 6 stones before people start catching up.
