    My lovely wife is buried at Pacific View Cemetery. I go there every week with fresh flowers and I do a prayer walk around the entire perimeter of the Cemetery.
    The girl who died tragically while speeding in a Porsche was Nikki Catsouras. I always pass Nikki's grave on my prayer walk.
    And very close to Nikki is the crypt of a famous actress that you didn't notice:
    Jeanne Carmen,
    Known as the queen of the B movies, a personal friend of Marilyn Monroe, a mistress of Frank Sinatra and Johnny Rosselli, and she was also a trick golfer.

    Actually, John Wayne's final film was The Shootist (1976). Wayne had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and would pass away about three years later. Wayne was rather controversial at times, so his grave remained unmarked for nearly two decades, because his surviving family was afraid that his grave would be desecrated.

      @@MrTakeYoBitsh Wayne was known for making patronizing remarks about blacks (and other POC). While it wasn't outright racism, Wayne did state during a Playboy interview that he didn't think blacks were ready to rule themselves. There was also controversy over his "refusal" to serve in the armed forces during WW2. Wayne was the father of four children at the time and his family might have suffered severe financial hardship if he were indeed KIA or went MIA. Thanks.

    My brother and I travelled from Antrim/Belfast in Northern Ireland just to visit the grave. Although at the time you had to hunt for it, as the family still insisted that the office staff should not point in which direction. However after begging the lady office worker and explaining how far we had travelled she didn't tell me the exact location , but did point me in the right direction. Whist approaching the grave, we had noticed a visitor, so we stood back.
    It was his daughter Marisa.. When she got into their car we slowly approached. Marisa waved. It was a day I cannot and will not forget. I am the fan and admirer. Why! Whilst in London in the making of the movie Brannigan, I had the opportunity to say hello, I was Private Chauffeur/ Driver at the time. I thank Mr Wayne for the memories and movie entertainment through all the years until now 2024. Huge collection (not cheap tack) and had a huge window engraved/sand blasted. R.I.P Mr Wayne. Thank you for the memories. (Ireland)

Ex-military here 🤚) But Clark Gable enlisted and he was 6 years older than John Wayne. In fact he flew in 5 combat missions as a gunner on a B-17 before Hollywood "pulled the plug" on that. Nikki Catsouros AKA Porshe Girl is an amazing story. She was in an accident and someone from the California Motor Vehicle Department took pictures of the scene of the accident and of Nikki dead and the pictures of her were off the scare of how gruesome they were and some put the pics of her dead on the internet. Her family got 3 million dollars for pain and suffering from the pictures on the internet. They are so bad you might lose your lunch when you see them.

    • @natefaust7790
      @natefaust7790 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Actually someone sent her pics that someone from the California DMV took of the accident scene. I think what happens during the accident was that Nikki wasn’t wearing her seat belt and when the Porsche hit the pillar of the structure by the road and came to a dead stop instantly she kept moving forward and the rear view mirror broke off and that’s why she ended up looking the was she did in the accident scene photos. I’m not being specific about what happened because it’s too gory to write it here. If parents showed their kids a few of the accident pics and say, this is what can happen when you rebel against your parents. That would scare a lot of kids straight. She was killed instantly after the impact of the car and the concrete pillar. No pain at all, sudden death.

      @@natefaust7790 Sudden death at such a young age and then eternity in one of 2 places. Seatbelts save lives far far more then not. But this accident? Would it of helped? Her boyfriend died too right?

    • @natefaust7790
      @natefaust7790 Před 9 měsíci

      @@Joanla1954 I don’t know about her boyfriend. But I was wrong about her not having her seat belt on. But she was killed instantly anyway. When you go from 100 mph to 0 in a split second you’re chances of surviving a crash are close to zero anyway. If you see pics of her still seat belted her head looked like someone took an ax and split her head in half. She didn’t look like a real person. I can’t understand how anyone could send accident pictures of her to her parents. What kind of disgusting person can do that to them? It would take an astoundingly crappy person to do that.

      @@natefaust7790 I agree, if kids were shown what happens when you act a fool behind the wheel it would save many a young persons.
      I remember when I started driving back in the early 80's, I had a 69 VW Beetle and when I needed parts the best place, and sometimes the only place, to find them was at the junkyard. I've walked quite a bit in those junkyards and during those walks seen many totalled out vehicles, many that took the drivers life.
      I think that always stayed in the back of my mind and kept me from driving like an idiot.

      She stole and then accidently broke the slab that was meant for The Graham's Chinese Theater. Then she begged him to make another one and then she ruined it. That kept on happening to her, so John Wayne just made her a whole set of them.

      @@gokathygo If we've thought it, it's still in there! "It's warmer in the country than it is in the summer!" There, now you'll always remember you heard that silly phrase from somewhere if you ever hear it again, too! It's something said in mid conversation when people are talking fast, just to see if they're even listening to what you're saying, by the way. It's just a little test. If they answer back with something about "the weather" or "mother nature", that means they're not even listening to anyone other than themselves. If they don't answer back with a "huh?!" or a "what!?", just say you gotta go pee or something and skedaddle. "Maine" says "hello".

    This my friend, is very GROUNDING - tomorrow is the very most important thing, and then it is no longer. Fact of living is the end of living, dying is part of living. I appreciate every story. No matter how important one seems to be - in the end, we are all the same, all of us are exactly the same. We are now re-making his old movies - so that is a bit of homage - and our youth enjoy the old stories again (TRUE GRIT, for example).
