  • As with the other Persona titles, the first in-game month is usually arguably the hardest one and, especially with Reload, there is A LOT to take in. So from someone who has played Persona 3 FES and played Persona 3 Reload on Hard, here are 8 Advanced Early Game Tips for Persona 3 First Time Players that the game doesn’t teach you.

    thanks for the vending machine locations. Those weekly SP items are super important in P5R and I had assumed it'd be the same in P3RE so it's good to know the location of the vending machines before I even start

    Might want to mention that the best day to buy weapons and armor is the sales day. You usually get a message and he cuts his prices a bit, to help you save that much more. I can't remember what day it is, but it's consistent.

    My tip:
    - Buy stuff from the store at school, things are really cheap in comparison to the pharmacy i.e.
    - When you see the map press X (square on PS I think) and you can see which characters will level up if you pass time with them, that makes easier for you to decide what to do

    My tips:
    - buy sp drinks from vending machines as often as possible. Make sure to get and visit the url in the night club that lets you buy additional sp drinks
    - do Elizabeth's missions asap and talk to her every night to see if she gives twilight fragments
    - do your Tartarus run on eother a new moon or at least a night where there's absolutely nothing else going on
    - break the objects that are found in Tartarus to get additional hp/sp recovery items
    - use sp drinks, twilight fragments, and a set of major arcana from shuffle time to do an entire set of floors in one visit
    - upgrade gear (starting with weapons) during a sale after new gear is available

    All I’d say is explore a lot on your first day and night segment of free time you get. Figure every way you can spend your time BEFORE you spend any of. Then you can more easily weigh the pros and cons. More expensive activities (in my experience) are better uses of your time than cheap experiences. Also, get a job quickly. The extra cash and social stay points are really useful

  • @AshleythetigerUK

    New players generally won't know a enemies weakness so they'll waste SP to find it, meaning with the limitied pool of SP most may reach second/third floor boss with no SP and have to either call it quits or attempt to fight melee from then on, SP is valuable, if the average early game enemy can be defeated in two hits it may be better to use physical attacks instead.
    Assuming average players pick normal difficulty an it's still early game, rather than use valuable SP to heal via Dia outside battle, a few repeats of a lower floor can get you a few heal items from the breakables, plus the added bonus of claiming loot for future purchases, one of the shadows there is also weak to slash setting up shuffle time as well.
    Twilight Fragment chests contain slightly random loot when found on non boss floors, i found one that gave a 20hp accessory, had saved prior to this, repeated visiting it until i got a 10sp accessory for a future Tartarus run, counts for other chests if you wish to min max your chances for a different piece of loot (eg start on x floor if y floor has loot avoid until finding a tele, then repeat prior floors to chest) I'd guess that chests contain 3 possible items to save myself from repeating too often.

    Thanks so much! One question. Do you need to manually change the Persona to be wearing the same arcana as your social link like in P5? Played the whole game (Royal) before I found out it gives you so many more musical notes. I was wondering why sometimes it was 3 or 2 instead of 2 or 1, lol!

    • @UnGeekPH
      @UnGeekPH  Před 4 měsíci

      Nope! The matching persona just have to be in your party but not necessarily as the ACTIVE persona. :) Actually... I know the actual number of musical notes isn't affected but the worth of each musical note is amplified. So for example, it can show you 1 musical note and let's say that was worth 5 bond points - if you have a matching persona, that one note can be worth 7 bond points instead. IIRC, that's how the matching persona system works :)

    Little tippy for those of you newer to the persona franchise playing around mid game, try to fuse up an Ose and level him up until you get the skill card Cool Breeze. Once you have it dupe the card at the Naganaki shrine by praying to the little Inari shrine so you may then pass down Cool Breeze to your viable personas (I recommend atleast leaving one copy of good skill cards to dupe them incase you need them) thats about it but to further explain Cool Breeze is a passive skill where after you finish a battle with a persona having Cool Breeze you regain a little bit of sp and hp (about roughly 8 or 10% of sp & hp gain) its basically Victory Cry's cheaper version but still pretty viable anyways enjoy the game guys and hope it helps you manage your sp/hp problems if you still have them 👍(also a little reminder to dupe your cards)

    I was a bit disappointed with the changes to the sp thing since I remember you could heal at any time with the clock in the og game or spend money to heal in p3p. Would be cool if the clock costed idk 20+ fragments in the entrance but once you unlocked it, its a permanent feature instead of having to pay 7 per run (or was it per use? Im still in the very start but reached the first 22 floors.) I know in the future (and if you know where to look in the map) it becomes easier to grind twilight fragments, but still find it a bit saddening. Still having a blast with the game tho!

    A couple of other tips that made the game way easier:
    1) When you have the money, buy 99 of each bread from the store at school. They are the best value in terms of HP restoration. In the early game, this will save a ton of SP since you won’t have to use as much SP to heal in between battles.
    2) Learn Life Aid the first chance you get. I believe Eligor and Ose learn it, though this would be closer to early mid game.
    3) Invigorate works best on a Persona with high agility, especially if you can end battles in one turn. Matador + invigorate + Blade of Fury trivialized the proceeding 2 blocks of Tartarus after I got that set up established.

      I don’t think the reaper will be that much of problem even if he does appear since he’s chases you slowly and by time he does appears you should’ve discovered the entire floor to get away with quick travel option to the next floor.

    Honestly for your first Tartarus run I feel like you should really be prioritizing the armor over the weapons. I understand the mentality of "big stick hit hard" but this game is more about taking advantage of weakness' anyway. The power of your weapon won't matter that much if you're going to be knocking down enemies and going for all out attacks every battle. Its not really necessary to upgrade them all the time. Especially because you will usually get the better upgrades just my opening the lvl 3 locked chests in Tartarus. More efficient to take less damage imo. I also recommend doing a few social links before committing to Tartarus. It's a good way to get more twilight fragments(keys) to open chests that otherwise, if you went directly into Tartarus on the 4/21; you wouldn't have the keys to open as you come upon them.
    Additionally for shuffle time you should definitely make the major arcana your top priority. I'd say focus should be more like;
    Major Arcana's > Persona > Exp Cards > Money Cards
    The major arcana give you big buffs for the rest of your time in Tartarus and if you get them all it increases the effectiveness of your shuffle time cards. Persona are obviously very important but not nearly as rare as the major arcana cards. Then Exp cards so you don't have to farm as hard. Money next because obviously you need it, but there are a ton of other ways to get money in this game. If you are selling your junk you get from dungeons and old equipment you should have a fairly steady cash flow. Additionally though the part time job at the coffee shop is a really good deal. You get a point in both courage and charm. Then they pay you 2500 yen. You also get big payouts for picking up the "Old Document" key items in each border room for the velvet room attendant. Needless to say I have never had any problems with money. I have bought really whatever I want and have over 50k set aside for whatever. I'm only just over a month into the game on hard.

    • @PandaProhibited
      @PandaProhibited Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@elstormo Yes but in the early part of the game it really doesn't make a huge difference. You'll still finish off the enemies with ease. Better to save for the better upgrades that happen not too much farther into the game. Additionally the weapons you get from the 3 key chests are better than what you currently have available to you 98% of the time. Not knocking how anyone plays, but the way I see it, this is the optimal path.

    These are all awesome, except I would prioritize footwear over weapons, even early on. Totally negating damage in a game like Persona can make or break a run in Tartarus, and you rarely attack with your weapon (against trash mobs, gatekeepers are understandable) until you're overleveled enough that rush mode is effective. In fact, I'd prioritize weapons *last,* with only accessories being an afterthought. You miss a key attack during battle and you'll be wishing you forked over that 3k yen for a stiff shirt.

      @KeithElliott-zd8cx Před 4 měsíci

      eh, give and take.
      the dungeon is quite a bit better here, it seems the balance is a bit more smoothed out, especially when it comes to the time crunch aspects to try to max out all your social stats and whatnot (i mean, in the original p3, you needed to follow a guide that basically had to use shit like, getting some credit on a phonecall to push you towards leveling up the social links, there weren't even enough days to do it without shit like that), the cut content is almost nothing, the added stuff is pretty interesting, etc.
      not to mention, p3p is kinda problematic too - they cut out the vast majority of the stuff outside of tartarus, and just made it into a visual novel ish vibe. also, i personally hate that the fusion spells are consumable items bought with gems, which sort of defeats the purpose of them being potentially early game advantages for just, having an eye on what personas you have in your party.
      making them akin to the power up gauge in smt 5, means you can't spam them, like you could in 3 and FES, but they're also not almost entirely out of reach till way later, like P3P.
      if you want FeMc, definitely go for P3P. if you want the best p3 experience, this is probably it. and, with gamepass, i don't even have to pay 70 bucks.
