  • Finding a job is like trying to sell your mixtape. But by far the best way to get a job or an internship…especially for an engineering role is to reach out to recruiters, engineers, or hiring managers on LinkedIn. However, the process of reaching out to recruiters is a little different than reaching out to engineers, so I’ll share a step-by-step breakdown of how to contact each.

    Tamer, you have no idea how much influence you have in here. I watched your video last night, texted a hiring manager this morning, and scheduled a 0.5 hr video call for next week!! I'd never done it before. I was always anxious to text people on LinkedIn, thinking who would take the time to talk with a stranger, blah blah but it worked. Now I am not thinking they are gonna offer me a job next week but who knows what's gonna happen?! Thank you and we appreciate your work and effort.

  • @shamelsinha1626

    hey man, I'm currently deciding between ubc and Waterloo for university. I heard Waterloo is mainly reputed for their software engineering coops but how is it for civil? Also how was your social life at Waterloo (I heard that its extremely academic focused)?

    • @TamerShaheen
      @TamerShaheen  Před 2 lety +7

      Regardless of what type of engineering you choose at Waterloo, co-op will help you out. However, do keep in mind that some engineering programs can pay more and have greater job prospects. For example, software eng pays more than civil (generally). In terms of social life, Waterloo def isn't the best and I spent a lot of time studying, especially in my earlier years. However, you can always walk to Laurier which is right across the street for a nice social scene.
