Same here. The last 20 mins or so, from when El was telling Billy about his mother onwards had me in tears, with Hopper's disappearance, to the empting of the house to the crescendo being the speech. It was a very emotional ending to the very fun season.

I really really felt sad for Billy in that scene, I literally cry everytime i watch it :/. I know he was a bit of an asshole to Max, but it really made me cry and I feel like he didn't deserve to die. But after watching season 4 I do understand Max's feeling as well

It’s sad because it shows that little pieces of bad in our lives from the people we look up to can change our whole trajectory for the worst, he looked like a happy kid full of joy, then his dad with the negative energy came in and filled him with a bunch of issues. He died a hero’s death, but lived a sorrowful life burdened by baggage. Hits all too close to home. Rip Billy.

I have heard that for the Neverending Story scene, none of the cast was told what was going to happen, so their reactions would be as genuine as possible. I think Joyce had her face to the wall because Wynona Ryder couldn't help laughing.

One of my favorite little moments in the whole season, that a lot of people miss, is that when Robin is talking to that guy getting Steve hired at Family Video, she's not just trying to get Steve a job. She needs to get Steve a job, because she's not going to work there if he doesn't. That's just a heartwarming progression from the first episode... they went from not being able to stand each other, to her literally not being willing to take the job if Steve doesn't work there. They're such good friends now that they don't want to be apart, and that's awesome!

When Billy was thinking about his mom through Eleven, I was crying and it was so heartwarming. Through her words, he was brought back and able to save El❤❤❤ When his last words for his sister was, "I'm sorry" that broke my heart 😢😢😢

Congrats on getting through season 3, the ending was heartbreaking. Hop's speech to Eleven always makes me 😭
No time to mourn, onwards to season 4 - new places, new faces, & lots of backstory too! Hold onto your butts, brochachos! 🤣
If you thought season 3 was intense, the next one is pure insanity where everything (humor, horror, etc) is ramped up to a whole new level of chaos. The roller coaster is now an extreme thrill ride with twists, loops, & heart pounding drops. Each chapter is like a movie, with run times over an hour long. The final chapter clocks in at 2 hrs & 30 mins! FYI - more clarification on why Joyce & the kids moved away will be made known next season. Also season 4 picks up just about 6 months after season 3 ended. I know the kids look so much older, but that is due to them having to halt production because of the pandemic lockdowns. Season 3 dropped July 2019 & we didn't get season 4 (volume one) until May 2022 - almost 3 years in between. The wait was brutal & maddening!

dacre montgomery was extra apologetic and sweet and gentle to millie bobby brown when the cameras were off, because he hated having to be so violent towards her. whenever i see Billy, i always think about what a nice person the actual actor seems to be. once i found out about billy's back story, i couldn't hate him. he was lost and sad and taught from a young age to deal with life using anger. i love his redemption. and if you look carefully, bald eagle has a tiny smile at the end of the scene where they show him hearing the singing. i kinda think that the adults, despite the hurry and panic, were stopped in their tracks at the display of such overwhelming innocence. it was a reminder to them of so many things they needed to think about, and i think it filled their hearts. imo

I'm late to the party (sorry) but I wanna share this little fun fact -- during the time between when season 3 ended and the trailer for season 4 dropped, there was a huge debate in the fandom over who "the American" actually was. The half that was convinced Hopper was dead was adamant that it could be Dr Brenner (aka Papa), and that their argument was that was how the Russians became aware of Hawkins and the gate to the Upside Down in the first place. The most common theory was that he'd been a prisoner in Russia for years and was slowly leaking information.
I don't remember who started the rumors that David Harbor (Hopper) was appearing in season 4 (I wanna say David leaked that himself after Hellboy) but that was when the Dr Brenner crowd started coming around to the idea that Hopper wasn't actually dead. There were still some arguing he might only be appearing in flashbacks, but then when the trailer dropped, the footage of him was obviously scenes of him in Russia and that finally put the debate to rest.

+BRIDGECO We had to sit with this for 2 years before we got a trailer and 2 and a half years before we get the season. It wasn’t confirmed. They confirmed Papa was the American. So everyone got thrown off a bit.
For me I totally believed Hop died. Because I didn’t understand how he could have survived that.
This is my favorite season and for whatever reason a lot of people hated this season. They said “Russians don’t make sense for an a
80’s inspired monster show based off of influential SCI Fi, Horror, and Action movies of the 80’s” but I don’t think any of those people were old enough to experience any SCI fi, horror, or action movies of the 80’s. I personally wasn’t old enough but I still grew up on 80’s movies. So I understood the Red Dawn and the fear of Russia at the time.
Also another complaint people had was that it wasn’t scary enough, had too many plots going on with holes, hated the new characters getting screen time, and just about anything you can imagine people complained about. But I think those people would have complained regardless

Every time I watch the mall get destroyed at the end of this I cry because this was my childhood mall. Funny enough I was working at a store right across the street when they started filming and we always would go outside and see all the extras. The mall is closed down now but it will forever live on because of this show.

Not to let Billy off the hook..but... just like the abuse he showed towards Max... we know a lot of that came from his father (We seen that) Just like that... I believe any racist feelings/actions also came from his father.. we just didn't see that part! Racism is taught... and I believe his father was racist! That is my feelings on that one! I'm kind of glad that they didn't get too deep into the racism aspect. It was touched on enough to remind us that it exists, but it didn't become a major plot point which is good because sometimes it becomes exhausting. Also, while this is no excuse, I feel there may have been the insinuation that Billy wasn't even really like that. Instead he was just parroting the BS his father has been feeding him his whole life, along with the abusive behavior. By the end, I actually felt bad for him, he didn't stand a chance with a father like that.
Anyway, I love your guys' reactions, can't wait to see how you react to next season. I really think you're going to love it.

Billy is almost an adult, he's like 17 or 18. He could have learned to stop being a dick to people by the age we first met him. Like seriously he could have formed his own ideas and his own personality by then. He should have the brain capacity to realize he doesn't have to act that way when his father isn't even there. And even in this season you still see him fat shaming that little kid when he was running around the pool and he called him lard ass, like dude you don't have to call someone that in public or even at all, just tell him to stop running. I get he was and is abused but like be better then your father, you hate him so put that passion into being better then him, don't put passion into being like him.

A very powerful season finale. The Never Ending Story part was hilarious-- a bit maddening in that, if it hadn't happened, it's possible that Hopper and Billy would have been fine. But Suzie is 14 and had no idea what was happening, it wasn't her fault. It's just sad and unfortunate. Thank you for the videos, and good luck with season 4!

I cried so much this episode. Watching my favorite character hopper die in slow motion just killed me. I feel so empty inside. Not to mention seeing how much it hurt Joyce, and that they weren’t able to explore their love for each other I was not wanting to watch season four if he wasn’t in it. I was literally planning on quitting the show when I found all the spoilers about him being alive
The other characters dying hurt me, but not emotionally traumatized me as much as believing Hopper died. I don’t know why I just love him with all my heart.

Yes. Not only did Billy have a MAJOR role in S3...his overall arching storyline was... REDEMPTION.
Billy redeemed himself by saving Eleven, his sister, and so many others.
Eleven breaking through the real Billy deep down inside was truly heartbreaking
