To tell the truth, MAMAMOO is very different from other idol groups. I was first attracted by their talent & personality, rather than their appearence. This new song is also good as the same as previous songs. Hope they gain bigger achievement on their career.

Not everyone really into this song, only certain people who know what is the meaning of pain,loss,depression,loneliness & sadness. That is how people who face those things come to appreciate and finding the deep meaning to heal themselves with these kind of aesthetic.
It just came to me that the fact that Mamamoo aren't afraid to go against the tide is admirable. They could follow the trend of hard hitting songs so they could gain many plays and fans. But instead, they followed what they want as a music they want to show to the people. This surely is not a move to guarantee their popularity, but to be certain about their path in terms of music. The maturity they displayed in this one also reflects their attitude that they want to be sincere in what they do.
Yes, they could have chosen another song from their Blue;S album since there are so many good songs there, but they wanted to continue telling the story of their 4 seasons project.
There is also the artistic choice of making the music video 5 and a half minutes long instead of just 3 and a half like the version on the album. It makes it slower to get the views, but it really was a good decision

Honestly, I didnt think after 2NE1 there would be a girl group as overflowing with charisma and talent. I'm thankful to be proven wrong. In a sea of pretty faces lipsyncing and pretending to be cutesy or baddie, they are so refreshing. Talented, beautiful, in control of their image, unique.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that each member represents a feeling/stage after a breakup.
Hwasa - that feeling of freedom, joy, and happiness.
Wheein - regretting what she did in the relationship and thinking about what she could’ve done better so that she wouldn’t have to break up.
Solar - fixing herself/thinking about herself. (I’m not quite sure on this)
Moonbyul - irritated/annoyed
In the wnd, they realize that it was for the better and they’d get better slowly, the he same way a flower may be upturned or thrown around in the wind but still keeps its place strongly, sort of.
Each member is seen on her own exploring the city and looking for a lost love. The gorgeous city lights perfectly portray the emotions of the track with the sadness and darkness of trying to move on after a breakup. In the music video, there is a long pause in the middle of the track to show the members reminiscing on their past love. After the pause, they are seen enjoying their lives and moving on from their sad loves with each other by their sides.
I guess it’s the two ways different people would process a breakup. Hwasa & Solar are representing the kinds of people who get over a breakup quickly. (Hwasa= feeling free like you said and Solar = finding time to focus on yourself) And then Moonbyul and Wheein represent the people who take longest to get over it and heal (Like you said with wheein feeling regretful and byul being irritated) So basically the two stances people take. You’re either a “I could have done better or been better and maybe they wouldn’t have left me” person or you’re a “Fuck it, I can do better they were holding me back” person 😂 at least that’s how I interpret it

1) New fans need to understand Mamamoo’s fandom is a positive one with a reputation for not tearing others down or having fan wars only positivity
2) All groups work hard especially to work as idols it is so incredibly difficult of an industry; physically, spiritually, mentally. And these idols do all of this work while facing so much scrutiny. At the very least respect that and don’t put down any of these artists.
3) These idols are only trying to bring joy and happiness to people and if they don’t do that for you they do that for other people. Why would you hurt them by tearing them down with mean comments and why would you hurt the fans that love them with mean comments.
4) Mamamoo have spoken again and again about hurtful comments and how they don’t understand why people make them so why are you doing this to other artists. Mamamoo wants positivity and even as human beings that is what we should strive towards

Mamamoo is literally what i think of when i hear the phrase 'be confident' they know they're good and they enjoy what they do, their image isn't too overbearing it doesn't feel fake in anyway. Even when they perform it's not like one member is outshining the other...i don't even know how to describe it, mamamoo is truly unique.
As a HKer, it is a big pity that RBW didn't manage to decently promote this song. The quality of melody, vocal, lyrics and THE MUSIC VIDEO are all top class. The MV filmed in HK is so sensational and touching. What an artwork...

I'm a hongkonger and this mv puts my most favorite things together. From the hk cafes, mamamoo, this song. When I saw moonbyul and the hk cafe scene with a signature 公仔麵 hk 宵夜 dish, the 大排檔 scene, my heart just melted, it brings so many good memories of hk (I currently live in usa and am missing my hk cafes and motherland).

For those saying they are underrated. They are internationally, but not in S. Korea.
They have one of the largest fanbase in their country - composing of mostly female young adults.
In the earlier days, we used to be a bit quiet and peaceful fandom who stayed out of trouble as much as we can, but new international fans came and SOME are toxic (like putting other groups down) and boastful and that scares me because it might ruin the peace. So far, there aren't any major problems. A lot of y'all are nice.
(In Korea though, the fans focus more on streaming on (*music sites) than on videos.)

I do wish that the girls get more famous internationally while the growing fandom would remain peaceful.

@@diana-vr5kh I dont think that is what they mean. They didnt call all international fans toxic and problematic. I myself am Fairly new to the fandom, and am an international fan. Fairly early on in joining the fandom I noticed the difference from other ones I have been apart of through my life, this fandom is peaceful, there are 'so called' rules about being peaceful and not starting drama with other fandoms, don't say things that tear other groups down things like that. Moomoos are super friendly and welcoming, it felt like I was enveloped in a warm hug when I started to stan, so many welcomed me in, with warm words and memes. I have myself noticed a few new fans that are causing problems that never really used to be an issue before, even though I am new myself. But as a fandom grows so will the bad eggs among us, an unfortunately often those fans that cause problems often have the loudest voices. I think i understand what they were trying to say, they just want this fandom to stay as peaceful as it has been while still growing internationally. The only way to do that is to let new fans know that this is no place for hate in any form, everyone has their own opinions and can like whoever they like so there is not point on being toxic. I’m new to Mamamoo (and they’re the first girl group I like) but I’m starting to like them because their sound is so different. It’s not the usual over-the-top-cute sound almost all girl groups have. Plus their vocals work really well together.

-The kanji on the tape and what Solar writes on the mirror translates into Windflower! (風花)
-"Windflower" is another name for Anemone, which in the language of flowers has the potential to mean "Helpless love" as in: you lose a loved one whether it'd be to death or to another person. This is reflected in the lyrics of the song.
-I THINK (please correct me if I'm wrong) the flowers Solar is holding at 0:56 is a combination of Hyacinth and Buckwheat, which in this case would mean "Sorry" and "Lover" respectively. The flower Hwasa is burning at 2:15 MAY be a camellia, which I believe represent "Love" or "passion". (Flower experts please help me if I'm wrong T_T) They're all holding different kinds of flowers but I have a hard time identifying some of them lol

First of all. I just got into Mamamoo and let me just say this. Their vocals are so good, they all have unique voices. Some raspy or deep and it’s highkey very hot lmao. And they don’t stick to like the normal kpop gg concepts, also they are very fun and hyper as people and it makes them really funny and relatable, they’re the first gg to make me laugh like that. It honestly really surprise me when they were all hyper, but I like it. Also this fandom is so nice and supportive. That’s it, that’s all I had to say.

i am absolutely in love with not just the catchy song, but the whole tippy-bright-lights-in-the-city mv and theme....matches really well with the four beauties in the group
r j some really interesting info about the music video. It’s actually a tribute to Hong Kong cinema and it’s aesthetic. It especially is a tribute to the films of legendary Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai. Solar is a big movie buff and they actually went to Hong Kong to film this.
Wong Kar Wai’s films like Chungking Express, In the Mood For Love and Happy Together and others are directly referenced. Throughout the video you will see different scenes that are tributes to different scenes from those films and others of his.
If you are interested there are both twitter threads and even a CZcams video detailing the different scenes in the films and which scenes in the music video they reference.
This music video is a very intentional piece of art and I appreciate Mamamoo and their company for constantly presenting something artistic and new and thoughtful in this industry

I am not sure that any group in K-Pop has had a better year than MAMAMOO. Sure, there are a handful who have had more views / sales... but in terms of sheer class, maturity, variety, talent etc -- MAMAMOO stands at the top in 2018. PS - Solar absolutely crushes every look in the book.
