Philosopher chef. He's an amazing man. I love the way Marco talks and how he puts things into perspective and focus. For a guy that has had the type of success that he's had and the incredible accomplishments that he's achieved, he is an unbelievably humble fellow. He's always generous with his time and his thoughts and always respectful and polite. Hands down, Marco is my all-time favorite chef and is a personal hero to me. Can't say enough about the man. I love the guy.
Brian Cox hi, I appreciate his wearing of the Palestinian headscarf, good for him. Other than that he comes across as a massive ego and what irks me personally is his Thatcherism. He looks like he's been in a massive midlife crisis for the last twenty years. I hope he finds peace.
Two things I wanna points out for you helmet : 1) He's not on TV, nor in a restaurant's kitchen. Those are very stressful environment and on TV, he got to add a little bit of drama of course. Did you watched that interview? Because he sounded everything but like a massive ego. ;) 2) People have to understand the difference between a teacher and a master. If you go and you learn under this guy, you are in for as an apprentice helping serving real 3 Michelin star dishes to real customers. Life in a kitchen is not for everybody, it is one of the hardest, most stressful job out there. He is hard on *purpose*, not because he is an asshole, but because he *needs* to be hard. And lastly, his political opinion have nothing to do with his skills as a chef, and never judge somebody because of their political preference. That is just immature, really. Of course he is crazy tho. You gotta be crazy to be that successful.
I work for a man like that during my pre PhD work. It was intense but he helped me achieve so much and and find abilities I never knew I had. He was not loved for his temper but he was fair. He died young and I am grateful to have known him.
Mate, this guy has absolutely in love with our country. I don't know how many of you know him for what he has achieved. Get a response like that from a person like this is truly amazing. Btw to the young fellow, when you meet someone like this for an interview follow in his language because he will do the job for you if you ask only few questions. People like this don't want to talk about them self when they are wearing jeans and a T.
wow..my heart is beating so hard..the most meaningful video I've ever watched in CZcams.chef marco's words just hit me soo hard...thank you PULSE...do more...
Of course it's a long way. He dares to change and is humble enough to change. Most people have never repeated years in school but repeats their work years with the same kind of mindset lol..
Indeed.. he always says he owes his success to luck, but never harps on about the huge amount of work and sacrifice it must have taken to get him to the pinnacle of his industry.
Seriously why did he keep asking that? Actually I can't blame him I wouldn't have done a better interview at that age. Pulse should have sent someone like Kumar de Silva.
7:41 Wow. Those are some wise words. Every successful person knows that there's no formular which led them to their success. But no one admits it. Everybody will say that something that they did right let them achieve their success while it's indeed luck and state of mind that led them to the success.
To catch a wise man on camera... To be able to listen to words our hearts yearn to be spoken, to be reminded of the fact that humbleness is a true and priceless virtue... Thank you CZcams and thank you Marco for letting me experience this. Romance. Bittersweet contemplation. Passion. The meaning of Love.
He's saying it's the best country in the world I don't think he realised they only cooked for him because they were paid, he seems to think if you go to Sri Lanka you'll have a family cooking for you just because
There are families that will cook for you and pamper you as a guest. Alot of asian culture is about being a great host and catering to guests. They will feed you until you cant get up.

Brian Cox Marco loves being the center of everything. Take his words with a grain of salt
He's an amazing, world class cook. With a enourmous ego
@@alyan83 So what? He's accomplished greatness in the kitchen, and continues to inspire others to this day.
I’m so happy and honored that chef Marco came to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
I work for a man like that during my pre PhD work. It was intense but he helped me achieve so much and and find abilities I never knew I had. He was not loved for his temper but he was fair. He died young and I am grateful to have known him.

It's like Marco answers one question in detail and this guy asks the same question again in a different way.
Marco is a poet.
"Luck is when you are given the opportunity. It is the awareness of the mind that takes advantage of the opportunity."

Ok but did you have a strategy when deciding that?
well said Marco! thanks for pointing out the meaning of success. It really is about humility, not arrogance.
Indeed.. he always says he owes his success to luck, but never harps on about the huge amount of work and sacrifice it must have taken to get him to the pinnacle of his industry.
He’s a great role model for people in general. I could listen to him all day.
Fantastic interview! He blows the other top chefs out of the water.
Bro for the 5th time he has no strategy
Seriously why did he keep asking that? Actually I can't blame him I wouldn't have done a better interview at that age. Pulse should have sent someone like Kumar de Silva.

I wish they wouldn’t call him a celebrity chef…

The be fair, if you're a treasured celebrity that's probably true.
Of course, they will cook for you if you paid.
I doubt it. I think I'd agree with that if he never gave back his stars
