He's in the race today at the Indy road course. Starts in like an hour or so actually, but yeah he's been equally impressive this weekend, qualified in 8th position. He is a true wheelman, just pure talent, and I've become an instant fan. Really lookin forward to see what he can do this afternoon

Hello from Chicago! New Supercar fan here, after watching SVG annihilate Chicago NASCAR.
NASCAR fan here. Looking for more info on SVG. Congrats on kicking my guys ass. Those final laps were epic.
If you can tune into the Aussie V8 Supercar races from where you are, you will catch him racing again this weekend in the Townsville 500. 2x 155 mile races. He will win both.

4:57 Is way more inpressive than they let on. He started in last, it was wet and chanting conditions, and he had shoulder surgery a week before and drove with 1 arm under the wheel resting on his lap most of the race

This guy is one hell of a driver.
Being able to watch this series has been up and down over the years (down for at least 5 years now), but l got to see him on his first podium and his first win - it was more than a bit emotional, especially given where it was.
And all I could do was raise a glass in front of my computer from the other side of the planet when he got that first championship (thanks for the highlights! Just wish I could afford the full races. Hey ho, there are more important things in life. Not many, but there are!) I'm left wondering how many more he'll win!

Don't know how many times I've watched that burnout...it's still THE best ever! Contract extension is the best news all week and will make Supercars worth watching for yet another year.

glad such a quality driver decided to renew his contract with us and i hope there is alot more successful moments for us in the future looking forward to it
Hello mate, I'm watching from the UK, other side of the world. V8 Supercars is still the best TC championship, all we've got is asthmatic four cylinders here and the racing is just SLOW. And there's not one standout driver. SVG is bloody brilliant with a great sense of humour. The contract extension is great news.

Shane is an absolute talent
Great for the sport
But on the flip side
I find him to be a arrogant price.
I think you need a certain amount of arrogance to be a world class racing driver in the first place... I don't think he interviews well, because he is actually shy and gets all tongue tied in interviews. Even today in his NASCAR (post first drive interview), you could see how awkward he was. Some people have great TV personalities (Think Scotty McLaughlin, Chaz Mostert etc).. SVG just isn't as media savvy. I do think he needs some coaching perhaps, but as long as he can steer and entertain while driving, that's all that matters to me :)

You missed him trying to kill David Reynolds at Philip Island, and receiving the signed bonnet from all the drivers when he retired from the sport... great driver, terrible human
No need to be so dramatic. Also, i’m pretty sure they’re both still racing.
Tried to kill? Please. He was run wide by Reynolds at the start and had to button off to avoid contact and then he didn't button off the next time and spun him out. It's not trying to even hurt anyone let alone kill them.
And his retirement from racing was fine. He signed up to race for the Stone Brothers in a Ford, he got sold to a team he didn't want to race for in a car he didn't want to race, so he quit. After he quit, a team he did want to race for with a car he did want to race, asked him to come back. So he did. Nothin wrong with that.
@bremCZ he quit for mental health reasons. Made a big drama out of racing too much for him. Stones felt sorry for him and released him from his contract. Then he's back next year in a commode. Stones didn't speak to him for years. Great driver. Terrible human.

@@Jazrodian Precisely. He quite for mental health reasons, those reasons being he didn't want to race for the the team he was sold to nor the car that team was going to race. So he stepped away. After he stepped away a team he did want to race for with a car he wanted to race offered him a drive. It's not being a terrible human being to quit your job because you don't like the new boss or concept and then accept an offer for a competitor who you want to work for. That happens every day in every industry.
Watching This kind of crap racing is very boring
