  • Snagged a new leftover 2022 SE 250 Factory. Taking it out for a spin to test some new carb settings. I plan on following up on a JD Jetting kit and the general performance and reliability of the bike after it gets more hours.

Given that the GoPro normally makes gnarly hills look mild, those were some crazy spots!

Looks like a great bike, although I am done with jetting and carbs.

Aye! I wish I got a TBI 😂I've been trying to do a SmartCarb review on this thing but I can't get that quite right either

If you still have the bike you may just need to turn your idle up to prevent it from dying when you’re at slower speeds.

Ended up with a smart carb, but a friend bought the bike (he loves the thing).

First you need to set the float height, which is fairly simple. No need for a JD jet kit, its running a Keihin carb, so run keihin brand jets. Fat in the midd range? drop the main one, raise the needle one clip and try it, turn the air screw to 1.5 turns out from closed. If it doesn't idle well, go to the pilot and simply drop the pilot till it idles well.
