Nikola Tesla was the benevolent genius humanity desperately needed...but still doesn't deserve.
I believe humanity deserves it. It's just that most so-called "leaders" of the world have shed their humanity in order to get money and power, so they make inhuman decisions.

Its not elaborated on but in real life westinghouse bought tesla's AC patents and hired him. This led to the present situation. The power lines in your street are AC

Also what the fuck I was listening to Last Podcast On the left's electric chair episode and I recognised the elephant fact
Akchually, electric cars were more prominent at end of the 19th century and at the start of the 20th century and first 60mph speed record was with electric car. IIRC. So Henry Ford comment here is not correct. Ford assemly line gasoline vehicles was much later 1910's than Tesla induction motor 1890's.

I find it funny how all of these "geniuses" end up essentially eating their own words, considering that our entire power grid runs on AC power and it was proven to be far more profitable than DC power ever could've been.
Not gonna lie, the ending hurts. Such injustice and greed in the face of a brilliant human. We must carry the torch in our own way. Screw these suits
I don’t care, Tesla won we use AC all the time now. Never beat that Edison. Thank you Tesla!

wow you did your research well because he did say that Tesla’s AC motor would kill elephants
Because he did kill elephants (and dogs, cats, or anything that moved)
Its funny because dc can also kill elephants. It was relatively safer, but not actually safe. It was just more practical to use DC for transmission, and AC for actual input.
Bob's burgers did an episode on the elephant and Edison
MidgetMan 420, tesla never did with his invention but edison used that statement so no one would use AC
@@midgetman4206 Edison wasnt involved in killing Topsy. People from his movies company was there and filmed it but it happened 10 years after he lost the war and he was already out of the electric business by then. At most he just filmed it but there is no real evidence that he was instrumental in killing the elephant.
Yes, he killed dogs, cats and cattle in an attempt to show that AC is more dangerous than DC (which it is) and there is a lot of things to criticize him for, Topsy is not one of them.
Literally no! Nearly everything about this is wrong! Westinghouse was already using AC, they licensed the patents from Tesla Co., had Tesla on as an advisor, the Tesla induction motor ran at a constant 60Hz(the reason electricity and tv runs at that rate) and couldn't be used in a vehicle because it only had a constant speed. Westinghouse eventually went with a DC traction motor for their electric cars.
Agreed, imagine how many people now turned into Hating Westinghouse.
Tesla should be portrait as a Tom Brady of engineers, not some push over.
Animation is amazing!!

MY POOR BOY TESLA T^T)/
This is great because i just learned about this in physics
Instructions unclear: I'm the ground wire
Sadly this isn't any different than how people react to invention today. If someone comes along with either a finished product or the basis for one, people are SO quick to shut it down for any number of reasons. And generally these reasons stem from the complete inability to see the use of the invention due to their total lack of foresight, among other things, meaning the inability to justify any investment into it -- whether it be time or money invested.
It's so strage to me to see just many people believe our progress is restricted to "what is and isn't possible". So many people have tricked themselves into believing that future inventions either aren't possible or aren't at all likely to be made because we've somehow hit a wall of creative limitation. When in reality very little progress is halted because of such limitations. Just knowing that something is possible isn't nearly enough to invent it. Inventions require a vision, someone who sees the possibility, believes in it, and also believes in the value of continuing forth. And it also requires diligence in the hard work, problem solving, and labor necessary to walk the path of construction.
I like to look at the big picture. If you look around us, the VAST majority of all we see on this planet is man made. It didn't exist at one point. So if you took someone from 3000 years ago and showed them the modern world, I would bet they wouldn't have ever believed any of this to be possible. Yet here it is. The same goes for modern man and future man. If a modern man saw the advancement of humanity 1000 years from now, they wouldn't believe what they're seeing.
Our only consistent limitation has always been ourselves. In fact when we look at history, we have no real reason to believe this won't always be our only real limitation. All that we have today that is now possible that was previously thought to be impossible is a prime example of the truth about possibility. What we believe to be impossible is only that: a belief. People treat these beliefs as if they're gospel. As if they're fact. As if they're anything other than our best guess. But I guarantee a lot of good would come of people standing back and realizing that our best guess is only a guess, and that life isn't always as it appears.
I fucking love this shit. It’s what keeps me going. Thank you for what you do and thank you for your channel.

And then Tesla invented the electric chair that runs on DC.
Random Internet user No.246839.5 History isn't clear, some sources claimed he did.
It's said that Edison used AC to kill elephants to prove its dangerous.
Tesla in turn used DC to electrocute (I.e. The chair) people.

dork lass Wrong! You need a rectifying bridge, to convert AC to DC current. The electric chair was Thomas Alva Edison's barbaric answer to a " Ten round Donny Brook with Nikoka Tesla, and the Westinghouse Corporation . ie: The " Was of the Currents." Edison lost, went bankrupt, however, J.P.Morgan bailed Edison out, and GE was formed.' Bringing Great Things To Life..' A very poor example of why good capitalism went bad.Thank you.

Dragon's Den
Tesla is such a good boy ;;
The person who made this failed to do any real research on Tesla, and completely insulted the great hero, George Westinghouse. Westinghouse paid Tesla the equivalent 1.5 million dollars in todays money for his patents on AC motors, generators, and transformers. And he hired Tesla to get the devices to work in his electrical power system. Westinghouse and Tesla competed against Edison, and won. Westinghouse is one of the most interesting industrialists there is. He was an inventor himself. One of his most notable inventions was air brakes. It is an ingenious system that has brought reliable braking to trains and heavy trucks. Westinghouse was also good to his employees, and his customers.
He didn't actually pay tesla that much because Tesla ripped the contract to help Westinghouse, but he was still a good guy.
Oh God... the music from the awful dances in Toilet Management Simulator. Flashbacks.

Because it’s a new technology. China is investing in UHV DC power lines to move power across their country. Siemens has already devolved and selling the technology for UHV DC utility lines.

Nikola Tesla's career in anutshell
Dont cry my lovely man😪
It's funny that people keep saying ac is better over long distances, but that's a misnomer. Very-high voltage dc is actually used for long distances and underwater cables as ac current attenuates over distance and passes current through insulators. The real reason we use AC for most power grids is the fact that AC is easier to convert between voltages with the use of a transformer.
What are you saying and not saying? 🤨
What about the guy that made it possible? CHARLES PROTEUS STEINMETZ. Without Steinmetz his motor wouldn't work. Nice job making this toon though, it's light for the masses. Gratitude.
