Arirang (Alone) So Hyang REACTION - HOW Can She Be Real?!

I love So Hyang and I'm not even going to attempt to trick people and be like 'This is a first time reaction'. I have heard this song before but it was a while ago since I last listened to it and I wanted to experience the power house vocals of our girl Kim So Hyang all over again. Literally though, how can she be real? Her voice is so amazing that I genuinely just can't fathom how someone is that talented!!!

김소향 (Kim, So-hyang) is a South Korean singer who uses 소향 (Sohyang) as her stage name. She's up there with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Céline Dion, according to David Foster, who worked with all of them, plus other big names in the music industry, such as Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, and Michael Jackson. In fact, many vocal coaches and critics call her the Queen, and Dimash the King.

BTW, Whitney's former manager saw the DMC Festival video of Sohyang singing "I Have Nothing", and contacted Oprah Winfrey, who in turn, contacted David Foster. They were all amazed. He invited her to sing on his tour in Asia. She did 8 shows in 4 days in Tokyo. Foster co-wrote that song. He arranged and produced it for Whitney for her album, and her performance in "The Bodyguard". Foster has won 16 Grammy Awards, including 3 for Producer of the Year, and has been nominated a total of 47 times.

I agree with you. After discovering So Hyang, I started watching other recommended artists from Korea and I was very amazed. So Hyang covered Park Hyo Shin's Wildflower and it's amazing also. I believe they are friends. They sang a duet about 20 years ago.

You mentioned ‘wildflower’ & I was wondering if you’d seen Sohyang’s performance of the song (duet with a famous Korean actor/singer who’s name, now that I need to recall it, I can’t remember for the life of me😂). If you haven’t, you should make a point of seeing it as it is not like the ‘wildflower’ you are familiar with ( I’ll dig out the link but it’s easy to find as it the only version she has done).
I don’t think sohyang’s talent is only for those with an interest in all things korean, her appeal is worldwide , she could be the no1 female singer on any country of the world.
I usually pick up any Sohyang reactions so as I haven’t come across your channel before I’m assuming this is the first one & you said that you heard ‘Arirang’ about 4 yrs ago I think & you said she was one of your fav’s so I’m assuming you’ve heard much more from her rather than it been based on this one performance, which begs the question ‘why haven’t done more Sohyang reactions on your channel?’ because believe me, there is something so enjoyable about watching someone else enjoying & appreciating this wonderful human being as much as you do yourself.

The only reason is because I’ve literally just started to do reactions in the past few weeks 😅 And the problem is, I’ve pretty much heard everything from so hyang. I’m happy to do reactions but they won’t be ‘first time reactions’ - Like my all time favourite from her is Breathe by Lee hi on the masked singer. I ADORED THAT PERFORMANCE SO MUCH 😍
