Driving in the Catskill mountains upstate NY, listening to this on full blast with a full moon and windows open
I came thru there last summer on my Harley as the sun was coming up. We had road from Springfield mass. All thru the night back to Ohio. 11 hours on the Harley’s and the sunrise in the mountains and canyons was more then the senses could take

I pretty much gave up on country music, I listened for years until country music became a mix of genres and talent that left the country sound behind, but after listening to Lainey I have some that country music still exists! I love her country voice and the stories she tells!

While I think this song is inspired by Deana's Strawberry Wine, I think this is Lainey's take on it. It's not surprising since Deana is one of Lainey's heroes. Deana's father was guitar legend Fred Carter Jr. He was born and raised in Winnsboro Louisiana. It is the seat of Franklin Parish. Lainey was born and raised in Baskin Louisiana,which is just 4 miles north of Winnsboro. Deana lived in FP for a while as a youth and still has many family members living there including her brother.She has long been Franklin's favorite daughter. Lainey is now that for a younger generation. And, interestingly, about 12 miles south of Winnsboro in Extension, LA. is the home of Kix Brooks. Kix has done great things in Franklin Parish including his yearly benefit for the Princess Theater, a venue that Deana played just a few months back. Not bad for a little Parish of less than 20 thousand people.
And, yes I am a lifelong resident of FP. I went to school with Lainey's mom, I know Deana's brother, and share some mutual friends with Kix. We are all very proud of all 3 of them.

Deanna has only 7 albums to her 57 years and one of those is a cover album so nothing she made famous, then there was a Christmas Album, so she has had 6 albums and nothing in 10 years. She had a kind of an in tho being part of the Carter family. Ms. Wilson has 4 albums in half the time. She is the only artist to have two songs in the top ten, but she is the first female in over a decade to do so. She is breaking records like she is Secretariat on a long run. So when ya say a song is a rip off, be sure ya know who ya talkin bout. This girl, oops sorry this young woman is the real deal.
