because it's paced weird, has weird scene transitions, and the chemistry between cruise and fox seems extremely forced and awkward in multiple scenes, not enough characters to keep the run time interesting, not to mention the whole movie feels like it's filmed with some sort of old soap opera camera making the quality of the entire film feel pretty cheap. There's a Red Bull video where to commemorate the opening of a repaved race track they film Tom Cruise doing hot laps in the Red Bull Formula racer. It seems very show-boaty, until you notice how fast Cruise is going. Then he's in the helicopter they used for filming. Not just in it, flying it. Not just flying it, he does a loop! Countless movies like Collateral, he does what others rely on stunt men for. When you see him doing it, check it out, he really is doing it.

It is ridiculous that people don't give this guy the credit he deserves. He works incredibly hard, really nice guy and gifted actor. Keeps his political opinions to himself gives a 200% every movie. It's incredible how people think his mission impossible franchise is a comfort zone look at the stuff he does in that film that's not what I'd call comfort. All his cast members love him and more importantly respect him.

I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. I was lucky enough to meet Mr Cruise years ago in London. It was a purely by chance kind of thing, and he was very personable and friendly. I was a complete stranger to him but he took the time out to greet my friends and I. While I think Scientology may be out there on the fringe I don't think that places everyone who practices it on the fringe as well. I've enjoyed all his movies so far and will probably continue to

It's an acting technique. I s'pose it's in the "method" school, everything else is, so every actor who gives a shit will have his own back story. Then there's the other guys who just do it intuitively. And then there's the Steven Kozlowski(R.I.P.) school "yo homie, is that my brief case?" Who actually did live the part and was just being himself. If I remember that bit, Vincent offers to swap his Rolex for the case, but it's been cut for some reason. Rolex complained about the product placement? Anyone? For real!

The thing that I liked about the “Vincent” character is that you can tell he’s an “ex” something. Ex, Ranger, SEAL, delta-etc. I liked that the audience never really knew what kind of person he was before becoming a hit man.
I liked the fact that Vincent adapted to the environment. When Vincent lost his work ups (hit list) he adapted quick and sent in a gofer to get the rest of the list. If max got killed-it was no skin off Vincent’s back- he’d move on-find another way to get the list. He keeps his amenity intact.
