The 3rd palette for Karai is a reference to Foot Clan's costume in 1990 movie.
Palette 9 is Aska, from SNES Tournament Fighters

Palette 4 is 2003. Palette 3 is either the 2007 movie, the 2014 movie, or the Foot Ninjas from the 90s movies.

@@Inferno65 Palette 4 is *both* 2003 and Turtles Forever; it matches more with the former because of the hairstyle, even if this "brighter" color palette matches that of the latter.
@@robbiewalker2831 All the physiques and clothing are the same shape and style in every model regardless of the palette. That doesn't have any bearing on it. Unless you're saying that applies to every other model too, which wouldn't make any sense.
8:19 my guess is Genesis Tournament Fighters April. She had a crop top in that and the belt looks flesh colored like the 2003 pallet.

I was just gonna say in fact that Karai's colours are based upon the various colour schemes of Shredder throughout the years. There is some existing connection to her own appearences because she is styled after him but the black with red belt was the clue since that was Shradders colours in Rise of the TMNT. The white, gold/tan and grey is the colours of the robes worm by Oroku Saki in TMNT 2003.
I believe Usagi's red and white palette is a reference to Gen, a Rhino bounty hunter who shows up in several of the comics.
Gen wears purple in the comics, not red
3rd Usagi palette is most definitely his comic book appearance as you guessed

One attire I wished they'd put in there (hopefully in the future) is thier ranger outfits from the ninja turtles power rangers crossover comic.

I think the third Usagi pallet swap is from the 2003 tmnt cartoon. Thouugh Usagi is a tricky one as he appears in his own comics/games/show, and also a lot of turtle content.
I actually think it's just meant to reference his traditional comic appearance.

I’m pretty sure that’s supposed be 2003-Usagi where his Katana had a green hilt, black sheath, and yellow tips on both the top and bottom of his katana’s green hilt, and his black sheath had a yellow tip too of course 9:25. You know and remember who the 2003-Turtles and yet don’t actually remember nor recognize who that version of Usagi really was in the 2003 TMNT Cartoon Series this whole time, especially when that iteration of Usagi has had a lot more episodic appearances in the 2003 TMNT Cartoon whereas the other Usagi Iterations had so little appearances in the 1st and 3rd TMNT Cartoon Continuities after all these years LMAO🤣? Although you did at least get his teal color skin from the fantagraphics-usagi comic covers right that one time, on the bright side of course 9:57👍. But in foresight though, you should probably lookup how many episodes Usagi had in the 2003 cartoon series on Google, Yahoo, or Bing etc, and then go rewatch Usagi episodes from the 2003 continuity that you forgot so much about he was in that Mirage Source faith driven TMNT Cartoon back then of course.

I hope the next DLC Venus and has Keno. Would be cool to give him a maskless foot soldier costume and a maskless Turtle outfit too. 2 different colors each. Maybe even the Reporter Foot Mark Dewer from secret of the ooze too. Games got a lot potential and could even go into Last Ronin and Revolution. Maybe even some toddler Turtles for the kids and the whole family.
This may be a complete stretch but I'd really hope for Zog The Triceraton. He's been an interesting character in every one of his appearances and IIRC he always dies in a pretty screwed up way. Would love to see justice for him. Either him or Gennosuke from Usagi.
Zog could also be a cool excuse to get a 1 speed 1-2 reach 4 power character with the 7 stat spread, make him break the 3 star convention because..well, he's huge. Also give you the caveat of huge attack power but bigger hurtbox.
No wondering i didn't recognize, April's "rise" palettes, its because the went with Megan Fox's April. Imo they should've just stuck to the themes, "Rise" April is probably my favorite, the it the 03 April

Yeah, you unlock more colors by leveling up your characters.

@@sonictoast 11:09: You say the first game to have Karai being set in the Fred Wolf Series was Mutant Madness, but the Karai in that game is based on Karai's outfit from the *SEGA Genesis* version of Tournament Fighters; the only difference between Mega Drive Tournament Fighters Karai and Mutant Madness Karai is that the latter had a cover up on partial nudity for the legs.

How do they have to be reference to anything maybe they just wanted to make color palettes man why does everything have to have some sort of meaning behind it.
I don't like the mirage turtles having their multiple colored masks.
I do. It would be way too confusing while playing the game with multiple players if they all wore red.

There are still color differences though, even if they aren't as pronounced as the other skins. Maybe I'm also used to them since I grew up on those games 😆

I would say the film palettes are specifically just the 1990 film. The turtles look slightly different (and progressively worse) in each movie, so it makes the most sense. Plus, both of the sequels suck, so it’s nice to forget they exist and just reference the actual good movie with good-looking turtle suits.
