Welp...if you want to build a boat out of cardboard I have some suggesting: 1)use floaties to make it float instead of metal/cardboard or anything else, just inflate them and you won't fall. 2)use water resistant tape at the bottom and sides so cardboard doesn't melt 3)use a plastic rowing thing That's it, it's so damn easy idk why your complicating it, this will 100% work if you use a good/decent floaty that isn't too small and won't pop easily. If you want to build other things ask/research so it becomes easier and you waste less money, and most importantly don't need to make 50 videos on the same thing
Make some kind of out riggers to make the boat much more stable this could be done with some of the extra foam and some wooden planks or wooden dowels, make the dowel go straight through so there is no chance of the out riggers falling off. Also add a wooden frame inside the main hull using wood planks.
Do a cardboard foam cardboard layer system and hopefully it should hire your structural integrity and also make sure when you build it the structure is built similar to that of a canoe or a rowing boat because then it should not overboard easy
Idk if this is useful, but compressing 24 layers of cardboard creates something like wood and its sturdy but costs around $100 because you'd need something to flatten it
I live right next to the border (about a 20 min drive from peace bridge) and I can say that I have seen people try kayak across and get stopped in the middle of the lake. I’m still shocked someone tried it let alone MULTIPLE
For a small boat. You need high weight distribution. Try adding some balancing wings. And also don't make the bottom of the boat flat, tiny water waves can make it more unstable.
My school had to do this for our science final but we could only use clear packing tape and cardboard. The trick is using a simple formula to find the water line and then build the walls up about triple what the water line is (Edit): spelling
Yeah, you might make it across……. If you had a boat that can float with a motor……. The fun part is I live near the lake and you can look across and see Canada. (Lake Erie)
You need to use more duct tape also you need to use flex seal spray or duct tape you want to seal off all the corners and cover the cardboard in flex seal spray
There is a man on Israel that ten years ago build and create a cardboard bicycle but first to test a kind of spray waterproof he created did a little boat or canoa. If you search you will find five or more vids. Surely you will to do some excellents boats.
An all cardboard boat needs super thick cardboard and water resistant paint, me and my dad engineered the shit out of cardboard boats for our races, can't wait till the next one

A wood frame made from wood recycled from a pallet would help
The whole point is a cardboard boat not a real boat…
it said carboard
“Titanic part two”😭😭😭💀💀💀💀
"Titanic pt.2" lol😂😂

being canadian, i could only imagine how cold that is.

When you make it, I'll see u there! I live near lake Erie!
Same lol
I love how good this guys content is
You should make it from wood, it floats and it don't brake plus you can make it last longer and durable
More floatation on the sides, I suggest the big, hard(ish) to pop bubble wrap rip off things that are filled with air
If you put the floaty bits in the side it will be harder to capsize you have to have center of buoyancy over the center of mass to keep stable
Do a cardboard foam cardboard layer system and hopefully it should hire your structural integrity and also make sure when you build it the structure is built similar to that of a canoe or a rowing boat because then it should not overboard easy
You need to make the boat wider
add 2 arms to the sides like Banca boats (philippines fishing boats) I think that will stabilize the boat
It’s great but a good tip is too make the bottom evened out or add some weight to the bottom so it’s not too top heavy
Fun fact, freezing cold Lake Eerie, nah man, a Great Lake in the winter is a deadly lake
All of that work for that lmao. This is why your channel is underrated
Maybe try adding side support floaters, keeps it up straight
Bros risking his life for 50k views 💀
😭😭😭
For when you succeed,WELCOME TO MICHIGAN
try putting foam on all sides if possible and put cardboard on the interior and secure it? maybe it would be worth a shot?
You need to attach card board poles to the sides then you need to attach mini card board boats onto those you’ll survive much better.
Idk if this is useful, but compressing 24 layers of cardboard creates something like wood and its sturdy but costs around $100 because you'd need something
to flatten it
yes the boat is very top heavy because unlike a normal boat none of it is in the water to provide a better center of gravity
Tip: add some Great Stuff ( May not be the name of it but it’s that yellow foam that hardens )
Use a wood frame and wood bottom for weight distribution and sturdiness
"you'll never pass the border budda"
budda?
The bottom needs to be way larger if you want it to be flat, if you want it to be that size it has to be tapered at the bottom
As someone from Michigan we come pretty close to Canada at a few points (Detroit River, St Clair River, and St Mary’s River (I think))
Make a kayak shape it works amazingly well
The totanic part two😹
Homeland security will probably pay him a little visit soon 👀
I live right next to the border (about a 20 min drive from peace bridge) and I can say that I have seen people try kayak across and get stopped in the middle of the lake. I’m still shocked someone tried it let alone MULTIPLE
Use that foam insulator and maybe try adding a door for easy access
Alright who remembers the cardboard boat project at the end of the year?
try adding weights to the bottom of the boast to stop you from falling off
You need something with the main and most floatable materials on the sides so it doesn't tip as easy
"Homeland security wants to know your location"
There is a duck tape boat contest in Kentucky. The middle schoolers boats are structurally sound and only use cardboard and duck tape.
For a small boat. You need high weight distribution. Try adding some balancing wings. And also don't make the bottom of the boat flat, tiny water waves can make it more unstable.
As a person that lives in Michigan, I can confirm this is how we get to Canada.
Over what river / lake?
Make it wider, better stability the wider she is. But go to wide and it will slowbyou down. A boat that wmall might need to be 1/3 width to length
Add more foam to the sides for stability
That clip of him falling in icy water looked painful
Try something like a Trimaran design to avoid capsizing.
you should put more foam and put foam on the sides and see if it floats
If you coat the cardboard in PVA glue it’ll make it waterproof
Cover the foam sheets fully in down and 4 sides and set a wood to sit
Dang dude I remember u at like 100k now u got this much insane
Try to build 2 side pontoons to help it balance
My school had to do this for our science final but we could only use clear packing tape and cardboard. The trick is using a simple formula to find the water line and then build the walls up about triple what the water line is
(Edit): spelling
Add some plastic Floaties and maybe that’ll work
"My dad and I"
So u confirm you have a father figure. Your dad's amazing!
Need stability on the sides for something so small or a rounded bottom with weight in the center which is allt more difficult
Just try that but from Romania to Serbia. It's a lot easier. Just trust me
Do you know for a physics project we actually made cardboard boats to race in. We used waterproof pair for the outside coat lmao
Yeah, you might make it across……. If you had a boat that can float with a motor……. The fun part is I live near the lake and you can look across and see Canada. (Lake Erie)
I ran some tests in school with mini boats. I later found that a bigger mass held more weight. Hope this helps. 😀👍
"freezing cold lake" ...just freaking make it out of pykrete them, frozen wet paper, its even bulletproof, that would have been much better
You need to use more duct tape also you need to use flex seal spray or duct tape you want to seal off all the corners and cover the cardboard in flex seal spray

I’m from Calais Maine and this guy made it across the border on the st. Croix River on a air mattress from Walmart
Centre of gravity/mass should be lower than center of bouyancy... For a stable equilibrium
An all cardboard boat needs super thick cardboard and water resistant paint, me and my dad engineered the shit out of cardboard boats for our races, can't wait till the next one
Use thicker foam bottom and foam sides
The more buoyant foam should be higher up so it has a lower center of mass
How to stay positive when you have no idea what your doing
Duct taping the whole thing would make it water proof
Man after 100 tries
The river becomes full of Boxes
Try using water bottles as a flotation device
If I was him I’d never go to Canada ngl 😂
You are gonna have a lot of fun in canada but more in the region of quebec( still in canada)
Sir cyran wrap..... Or put a lotta layers on, also watch some people make cardboard boats
ill never forgive lake superior for sinking the edmund fitzgerald
ICE and DHS has entered the chat
I CHALLENGE YOU TO EAT ONLY DESERT FOR A DAY
Can you do a Napoleonic wars animation like the battle of Waterloo
A wide base would help more
“A flawless plan”
“And fell overboard”
An air mattress or flesh seal tape and spray work
Build a curve like acual boats use flex seal and great stuff
Just add a rudder so you won’t capsize while rowing
Make a boat outa foam with a cardboard interior
Physics class left the chat
Gotta use that flex tape
Build a boat for treasure vibed
Add more weight to the bottom for more stability
All I’m thinking rn 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
You should try using Flex Tape
He named it titanic 2 because he knew it was gonna sink
Dude, you need a 9×6 foam in the bottom and the side need to be 2layer cardboard.
I saw someone try this and the trick is to use insulation foam for the outside
If you get there, try some of poutine
I mean, if your “cardboard” boat can be made out of other things besides cardboard, you should try wood or plastic.
Lol I might just see you cross the peir some day
But more foam and wood to make the boat stronger
"Naw, imma find the 1 piece myself"
One piece
I will be the king of pirate
Maybe get more surface area for it to float?
Use flex seal
