Let Alec from VacuumSpot show you how to swap a motor on a Dyson DC08 Motor Replacement is super easy steps in less than 10 minutes. www.vacuumspot.com.au
Alec, your video is so good that even a complete beginner like me managed to bring my 14 yr old DC08 back to life with a new motor and filters for about 20% of the replacement cost. Putting the case back on was the trickiest, but you made that doable by showing exactly where the power switch should sit. And now my Dyson works like new. Your instructions also mean I now know how to properly maintain and optimise performance, so thank you so much for all of that, from the other side of the world (UK)
Cheers buddy, I live 5 miles from the Dyson factory in England but they wanted a fortune to fix. Scored a new motor and filter kit on ebay for £20 and did it in my lunch break. 10 year old machine now like new.
dear Alec just replaced the carbon brushers on that particular motor but keeps blowing the fuse as soon as i switching on the machine. Is that mean the motor is gone? otherwise been enjoying your videos
I have brought a motor through vacumspot but the wiring for the motor has no connectors on the ends for me to be able to connect to the corresponding clips.... do I need to buy these or can I get the old clips off of the old motor.. I would have thought the new motor would have come with them already.
+Lee Probert Hi Lee, quick question - are you still happy with your purchase and could you please direct me to the seller you got the motor from? Thanks.
@@LeeProbert72 Hi do you remember how much was it and what model, so I could have a look myself. I want to buy new motor for my DC08 and DC29. I think they both use the same motor, but I don't really know which one is good. I don't want to spend fortune, but cheap ones do no have good reviews. Could you please recommend a motor for me? Thank you.

It's just the dyson building in England. The factory is in Malaysia
THAT's exactly what I have to do for my 12 year old Dco8 which started spitting sparks today!
Perfect! Dyson runs again :)

Interesting - the replacement--motor is a DC04/07...?
Can I use a YDK motor for my DCo8 motor which does not have YDK on it?
Thanks mate! Great instructions.
what you watch out for is cheap dodgy motors, cheap ones don't have thermal cutout and signal suppression features
I got it off Amazon and it came with "Official Dyson part" printed on the packaging. That and the new filters has it running like brand new.

Hi can you please show me how to remove the wheel on Dyson DC32. The wheel won't pop out and thank you.
So how could I produce electricity with these types of motors
Danke und grüße aus österreich
How old is the vacuum and was the old motor dead?
I think the owner of the vacuum didn't change the post filter and wash the pre filter often and used it a lot, so It is dead until you fixed it.
