my friend did the "5 random spells" one, but he also was Denathrius, so he ALSO got the "tavern spells cast twice" one. VERY wild game
The only time I used the cast 5 random spells quest, it immediately gave my baron taunt.

At least you can remove taunt from baron. The first time i used it it turned 2 of my 300/300+ minions into 20/20s. I was devastated.
I am pretty sure if you were to go through all of Kripp’s BG videos, he’s complaining about beasts within the first 10 seconds of the gameplay
well he does upload old patch content so he is not up to date with the nerfs.

How can you pass that pirate? 15:41 combined with the tavern spell that lets it steal all blood gems from adjacent minions. That thing could have been 150/150 on like turn 8, stealing gems from bopper and the divine shield dude. (I'm bad with names lol). He also had a chance to do the exact thing with the T5 naga that doubles stats during combat, and instead kept a small-ish T2 battlecry quillboar. Those HAVE to be mistakes. The game snowballed, but it wasn't the T7 quillboar that was busted, it was the quest reward that was busted, combined with facing the same guy like 5x who had a T7 minion. Incredible highroll game, fun to watch, but so many mistakes.

I've never not been fucked by the "Cast five random spells" quest.
Just started playing battleground after getting back into hearthstone last month. quilboar are OP, the most wins i have is with them and i overpower everyone once i hit a certain line.
I was just waiting for Kripp to get play X spells as one of his quest options. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that streaming for multiple hours each day impairs his ability to play - but anyone that plays a decent amount of quest meta, and specifically anyone that's playing to win, would 100% accept taking ~4-5 damage there and having 7 spells in hand just on the off-chance they get a spell quest with decent reward. Completing a quest on turn 4-5 can often lead to winning the lobby.
Can someone explain why he didnt freeze bristlebach?
Cuz his minions werent dying. Bristlebach isnt a very good minion in this build. Sacrifice a spot for a better quilboar to have Bristlebach that plays a single blood gem on a random other quilboar on avenge 2 when your other quilboars are massive, is like saying the cast 5 random spells quest is good.
Bristlebach is pretty garbage unless you have a very specific board to take advantage of it. It's much better to have something that gives permanent buffs instead of temporary combat buffs. Bach should really be a tier five card, and maybe even then it wouldn't see much play.
I've lost count on the number of games where Kripp complains about certain minions no dying (he wants their deathrattle effects) while at the same time *he doesn't fucking TAUNT THEM!!!*
5 Random Spells is awesome! When I picked it, It casted several copies of the permanent bonus gold. Between that and the other gold spells, I was up to 20g a turn! I’ve been trying to get that quest reward ever since.
Yeah, just you wait until it taunts your Baron, or refreshes the shop that you froze for a triple, or puts the 20/20 spell on a 500/500 minion effectively losing you the game...you will have tons of fun with the quest 😂
To be fair it is sometimes the best reward you are offered. But the risk to screw you over is there so be prepared

I do kind of wonder why it doesn't just give you spells. Or have you discover the 5 that get played.

after it did the upg all the minions to a tier higher on a board I wanted I never pick that quest lol

The cast 5 random Tavern spells doesn't even stack with double casting Spells from Denathrius if you have both.
It's either bugged or just stupidly underpowered.
It also didn't trigger cards like Nala and Paint Smudger in my game.
What I think is happening is a case of, cast 5 random tavern spells doesn't say that you cast them. It also doesn't trigger on minions that would trigger on spells.

They should either make "Cast spells" the trigger or change the trigger to "activate 5 random spells at the start of your turn" or something. Atm its just inconsistent with triggers.

@@daddymasamune5485 Yeah im sure they will change it the last 2 weeks of the event from "cast" to "at the start of your turn, 5 random spells are played at random targets" with a caption *_"Dev Comment: This is a text-only change for clarity, not a functional change."_*
Yea I tried this and it doesn't work. It only cast twice if you play it out of your hand. Either it's bugged or the wording is off

Tier 5 minion scales with spells used, even when not summoned
A couple reasons. There is a tier five minion that keeps track of every tavern spell you’ve cast so it’s good to take it for that. But it’s also e very efficient way to end a turn. If your options are to buy a coin or spin the tavern it’s is always a better choice to take the coin.
For my reason why I do it is because streamers do it

Agreed , the best part of Quests coming back is they can occassionaly give you the previous anomoly of T7 , and apart from that they have been pretty fucking awful
A shame the gem buffing engine came online so late. Could have been insanely busted instead of just pretty good.

I think this video clearly illustrates why Sanguine Champion is NOT OP.
Unless you have some card to activate his battlecry, like this, he needs to die several times even to trigger its deathrattle and when you get big health buffing gems it becomes increasingly difficult.
So you can have a lot of big gems and still have a difficult scaling. (In the later stages of the game, to WIN the lobby).
My “how satisfying it feels to build a huge board of this tribe” ranking:
1. Mech
2. Quils
3. Dragon
4. Pirate (until you die and finish 6th)
Second last. Undead
Last. Beast
