The title of your video isn't correct -- she did not leave her baby at the side of the road. She left it in the woods and animals dragged the bag with the baby in it to the side of the road.

She said she was born in 1970, so in 1993, when she threw away her baby, she was 23!! She wasn’t a teenager!! She’s a damn adult!!
By the time I was 23, I was a divorced teen mom. The undisputed queen of bad decisions… but damn. I don’t know what to make of this woman. She’s so pitiful, but at the same time she has to be some kind of monster… and the fact that she was a nanny, got married and had more kids is strange to the point of uncomfortable. I think she’s lying about things and leaving important facts out. I don’t know how she faced her family after this came out.

Also, in the 90s, there were a lot of parents that were younger, and she was younger by the standards at the time but not by much. Hardly a 16 year old mother. I was born in 1972 and in the mid nineties we were not living in the 50s or 60s anymore. People were used to seeing young moms by then. It wasn't shocking. How in my high school, there was a girl who in senior year was pregnant with her first child and already married. Kind of creepy when you think about it because she was married to a man who was over 21 so there's something very weird and questionable about all of that but everybody's family was fine with it and they were happy so whatever, but even those girls love their children. 😢 If you care more about the father, there's something wrong with you because I couldn't wait to get rid of her dad. And it was the right decision because he never had anything to do with her in life and she doesn't ever want to meet him.

There's a million other true crime videos this could be said on, this is probably one of the very last ones I would choose, all considering. Knowing the sheer amount and variety of heinous, truly evil crime that is committed all day, every day and has been for the last so many years, down to the last detail, i would not say this woman is the embodiment of no empathy out of them all. I think it's pretty apparent that she seems regretful, remorseful, and is displaying signs of feeling normal human emotion such as empathy and emotional torment from what she did.
I got pregnant at 19, with a father that didn’t believe in having a baby out of wedlock, and I couldn’t imagine in my wildest dreams doing this. There’s no excuse in this world.
Same. He’s 14 today and the most kind, gentle, smart, and handsome soul I’ve ever met. My father, who was furious with me at the time, loves him like he was his own.

She was in her 20's and knew exactly what she was doing/did. A hospital, fire station, social services, almost anywhere but in a garbage bag in the woods. Preposterous. I'm so sick of seeing these type of cases.
23 is still very young and you don't know her circumstances at the time, if she had no choice but to do what she did. It's tragic for everyone involved, the baby, the mother, etc.

What were the laws in her state at the time? America has made this scenario much more possible because of recent laws.

it doesnt make sense in this era, but it made sense back then....not enough sense to do this, but living with someone prior to marriage was a new thing, having babies with a defacto was still rare...my parents lived together and got married only because they fell pregnant in 1980.

After exhibiting such heartless behavior toward her first two babies, I can’t help but wonder what kind of mother she is with her other three. And I wonder how her living children feel knowing they have siblings whose mother never wanted to have a chance at life.Can’t imagine finding this out about my mother. Her poor kids.

When officers looked later, they could not find the remains, and she has not been charged with any crimes in connection with this second confession.
Just so I’m clear, did she marry the man who was the father of the babies? Because she said her and her husband were dating right when this happened right?

Wow. It never ceases to amaze me that people go into interrogations like this without lawyering up.
They’re naive and believe the police will tell them the truth. Sadly, they aren’t ever taught correctly. They have rights but must ask for them. I suspect she was somewhat sheltered and has a lack of education. She was probably taught the Police are always on her side. I was told that by many people growing up but, I was fortunate that my Father explained my rights to me. There was never a teacher, not even in Government Classes in High School, who clearly reviewed rights through the U.S. Constitution. Not once was anything ever covered. I was in high school in 1970’s. I learned through my Father and later, on my own. I learned but many people don’t. Their first contact with a Police Officer is when they’re accused of something. Since the Officers say they aren’t arresting her and just want her side of the story, they’ve intentionally lulled her into a false sense of security. Shameful & Deceptive but completely legal. I was pregnant 2 times. No way her boyfriend or husband didn’t know. One Sunday morning I was in church and saw a mom getting on to her two little girls . After church I found out they were laughing because, my tummy was moving around. I was 7 months along and two five year olds knew.

Her story doesn't make sense because the placenta does not come out at the same time that the baby comes out. It's usually delivered anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes later. Her story doesn't make sense.

I thought that was odd too, obviously it wouldn't occur to male police officers unless they were prompted to ask that question . I've attended 4 births and given birth twice myself and each occasion the placenta took its time to come and usually needed a little pushing or manipulating to come away .
@charlesmanswoon421 if she didn't cut the placenta it would've been 30-60 minutes before the placenta came away without medical intervention. So either she would've been sat in the bathroom attached to the baby for around an hour waiting for the placenta to come out, or she would've carried the baby to the kitchen attached to herself
Either way it would have been impossible not to see the baby breathing or moving in that time span.
Unless she lied about not cutting the placenta, but that seems unlikely as it doesn't make her look any better lying about it, and cutting it could have resulted in her bleeding out if not done correctly.

The difference there is that in those circumstances the fetus/zygote doesn’t even have a functioning nervous system yet. That is an entirely different matter than what happened in this case!

The safe haven law did not exist when she did this. When she had the babies it was criminal to also leave babies on doorsteps. You could not just drop a child off. However, murdering two children were not better options either. Her going full term she could have gone into a hospital and just had them adopted out. She didn’t want kids at that time. This happened in 1993, she was 23. She was caught in 2019 due to dna databases, and LE went to her parents to collect their dna which showed a close match. Then they got her dna to prove it was a direct match, and not just a *close* match. Its been going on forever. The difference now is a couple things. One being social media and news and information being able to travel farther and faster, and two being that there are things like 23andme and ancestry and other sites, that LE use to find matches in criminal cases, so old and new cases are being solved from that and it ends up in the news.

She deserves to be behind bars. However, the detective takes her phone while saying she's not under arrest, not reading her rights, etc. How is taking her phone for his safety? Not allowing her to make a phone call after being told she wasn't under arrest. Don't mess these cases up. These people need to go to jail.
I noticed that he took her phone ,her purse . Telling her she's not going to be arrested at that moment.
The officer said he couldn’t let her make a call although she was allowed to text work under observation. If she was free to call, she could have arranged to get someone else to intervene. She was interviewed at the station for her safety & the safety of the detectives because everything was in a secure location and filmed. With officers’ body cams and cameras at the station, there is no “he said/she said.” Any assaults by either party would be recorded. Any other abuse of her rights would be recorded. She wasn’t under arrest and she was free to leave at any time as she was instructed in the office. She chose not to do so and she also chose not to request an attorney.
Everyone’s saying she needs to get a lawyer and stop talking. But what are we gonna watch if they all do that.
