Pacific Islanders are micronesians, polynesians and melanesians and filipinos are none of those bc they're austronesians as having an indonesian and malay decent so... Nope they are not pacific islanders

Filipino-Americans who are born in the US have no clue about the Philippines. They are only Filipino by descent and blood but not by culture and tradition unless they go back and forth to the Philippines.

Sandra should be fluent in Tagalog and English being in the Philippines for 20 yrs especially she started elementary school Manila. Welcome back to Manila, Sandra. I’m from Manila living here in California since I migrated to US in year 2000. I’m missing my home in Manila so much. I’m only able to visit Manila twice since I left. In Manila now you can use G-Cash or any credit card/ ATM card. When I went there last year in September I hardly use my cash to pay or purchase something, except when buy from a seller who don’t accept credit card.

We filipinos appreciate you huys for staying and choosing Philippines as your first or second home. But, you should learn and practice how to speak in tagalog coz it is our national language and it is much more easier for you to communicate with us even tho we can speak english specially with the locals in provinces. In reality...English language is not widely spoken by local people....they are not that fluent although they understand the basics...

Unfortunately, the beauty of the country will soon fade out as more younger Filipinos are now realizing a lot of things. The Philippine news isn't specific enough in terms of the population decline. Give this country 10-20 years and you'll see it in a situation like Japan with rapid population decline. No one wants to have a child here anymore due to job competition and scarcity of resources. I am a Filipino. I was hopeful and optimistic until now. This country will soon be on international news with massive population decline and I'm thankful if that happens. The country's power isn't measured by how many people it has but on how many competent smart-ish people it can produce. We, the younger Filipinos, are so tired of the rising inflation and exploitation of outsourcing industries. Let this country die in peace. No one wants to have a child anymore. Religion is failing and family values are failing. I love this country, but the massive corruption is tantamount to our hopelessness. Do you know what Filipinos are thinking now? They wish to flee out of the country in search of a better country. Nobody wants to return here unless the population becomes 50 million below. I love you Philippines pero ang hirap mong ipaglaban. Too many corrupt officials and kahit ang hirap ng buhay ang mga tao ay laging anak ng anak. The mindset of such people is beyond imaginable. I hate inflation, but if it has to be inflation para tumigil ang mga yan ng panganganak then so let it be

Not Filipinos are fond of speaking Tagalog especially people in Cebu and some parts of Mountain Province, Central Visayas and Mindanao. So why bother of learning Tagalog...
