    Thanks for this video, our Nissan QQ 1.5 dci (2010) does not start anymore (first very difficult for the last week, then nothing anymore). We first swapped the battery - which was needed regardless because it was 7 years old and running out of juice very quickly - but that did not fix the problem. So now i ordered a new starter, this video will help me to install it and hopefully fix the problem. will update!

      @@quickfixmechanics i saw some other vids talking about testing the starting motor by jumping the relais, but if i understand correctly the relais in this car is a solonoid in the starting motor right?

    • @quickfixmechanics
      @quickfixmechanics  Před 11 dny

      That’s correct the starter the solenoid is on the top of the starter, you can try cross the points on the motor but from experience you are just best replace the motor as it’s a common failure part

      I think I have three bolts holding the starter, you have only two in the video. Is that possible?

    • @quickfixmechanics
      @quickfixmechanics  Před 10 dny

      It is possible, but normally these starters only have two bolts

    Hello, great video and I'm now very confident changing this part. However when I've looked up starters, it suggests a 1.4kw and a 1.2kw. I have a J10 1.5 diesel. I would hazard a guess the higher the kW, the more efficient? But does it matter which?

    • @quickfixmechanics
      @quickfixmechanics  Před 7 měsíci

      I’m not sure if it matters much but I know with the K9K engine 1.5 I put the 1.4kw starter motor as that’s the one my motor factors recommended I use. It’s the same one that goes in the Laguna 3 and Fluence as they are also the K9K engine

    Hi there. Starter just sat down on my 2010 J10 Qashqai 1.5dci. Seems fairly straight forward but noticed the video cuts around removal and again whilst refitting. Is it a total pain to get the unit in and out or does it just need a bit of perseverance and jiggery pokery? I've also watched the one you did for the Renault Fluence which looks a lot more cramped. Excellent video though, a great help thanks.

      Hey Neil, thanks for the comment. sorry for the cuts in the video I'm new to this video making and the angle was awkward and I blocked the camera. It is fairly easy to remove just take your time I got it out from the top and it only took a few minutes.

    Is it 1.5 dci or 1.6 dci?

      Hi and thanks for the comment, it’s a 1.5 DCI

      @@quickfixmechanics yea I just noticed that too. The oil filter is mounted near the starter, when mine in 1.6 dci is near the oil pan 😂. Do you know maybe if it is the same procedure to replace the starter? I noticed after every night, the first start up is a little tough. I can switch the engine off and the next start up is smooth. My mechanic pointed out that the starter might me responsible for that behavior.

      I installed new varta agm battery too, designed for start & stop, cuz my car unfortunately have that system on board.

      The starter should be the same in yours as well just different location,

      @@quickfixmechanics ok, I am just looking for hints how to get to it the easiest way. I think the location of it is the same as you showed in the video. On the right just behind the radiator’s fan. This is the only video of the replacement process I found so far, so great job man.
