@@DiveSAGA Looking forward to seeing the "video side of things". I understand you use GoPro's quite a bit. I'm a big fan of the GoPro this is from a diver that started with film and housing and all that expensive (and heavy) gear now I just love the simplicity of the GoPro. The u/w videos on my channel are all shot on a GoPro.
@@peterneubauer9712 yes I agree. For a lot of video tasks the GoPro is great!

Great video Nick. I got my Ice Diving Certification back in 1979, in western Pennsylvania. Back then we were required to make our first dive in a wetsuit. Talk about a shock as the 34 degree water works up your legs. That dive was limited to 30 minutes, if you could make it that long. Next dive was in a Poseidon Unisuit. Man, what a difference. I have made several ice dives since,, but never another wetsuit ice dive.

Great episode, Nick! Ice diving has been on my list for years, but this might force me to take the class next winter.
Consider joining! I might go again! Especially because they're working out how to combine it with an under-ice wreck dive!
@@DiveSAGA that would be epic, although for me as long as the wreck part doesn’t require tech qualification…!
@@BrentDurand they're actually looking for something shallow, like 30-40ft but they haven't locked anything in yet. The idea is to do the actual ice diver training in the weekend and then cut a different hole elsewhere above a wreck a day or two later. I'll keep you posted!

Nick, why you not using full face mask?
It was an option but I simply chose not to. No real specific reason!
