Lex said recently that back in Africa, had he won that challenge, he probably would've taken Ethan with him, despite it being the wrong move. And Ethan would've still won, as confirmed by T-Bird.
I'd love to see the edit on the season if Brett ends up winning. Honestly, him becoming the Hantz slayer probably goes a long way toward seeing him on a future FvF or maybe even on Heroes vs. Villains in conjunction with Russell. Imagine that Survivor world.

I'd say Chris had the best comeback in Survivor history. No one has dismantled an alliance of 6 on their own, much less an all women's alliance as one man. This dude is a Legend, and the fact that he wasn't brought back is so dumb. Could you imagine him facing off against the Black Widow Brigade?
I still disagree with the ungodly amount of screen time Hantz got in both Samoa and HvV. We saw far too much of him in Samoa and it unfortunately missed us out on the other compelling people of the season like John, Dave, Brett, Kelly, Monica, eventual winner Natalie etc. Then to go on and have him shoved down everyone's throats again in HvV, robbing us of seeing more of the compelling arcs from more compelling players like Colby/Jerri finally making up, Candice being the Heroes underdog, JT/Amanda running the Heroes, Sandra's inspiring story to her two-time win, more insight into Tyson's blunder from Tyson's perspective, Courtney's hilarious antics and somehow surviving almost to the merge despite being the weakest link, etc. Hantz was clearly the biggest goat of both seasons with his piss poor social game, and yet the unfairly large edits he got in both seasons basically made him out to be this robbed player that should've won both seasons, and it's unfortunately the reason why many viewers still wrongly think he deserved to win when he clearly messed up big time.
I at least understand his revolutionary play and his downfall was great to watch in Samoa, even though it was too much, and they wanted to hype him up. However his screen time in HvV was RIDICULOUS! We had the most iconic cast that is or ever will be and Russell took up all that time!
I don't know about heroes vs villains but there is no way russel shouldn't have won samoa. Giving natalie the win is like giving woo the win over tony in cagayan
I think Russell could have won against Rupert and Colby at the end, which was his plan until Parvati won immunity. Russell had to strike at the girls after they voted out Candice behind his back
Honestly the fact that Samoa was so poorly edited really hurt the chances of a lot of players from ever returning. The only returnees from that season are both Russell’s, Monica, and Laura, and all of them except for Hantz didn’t do anything on their returning seasons either. Good players like Eric, John, and Brett and good characters like shambo and dave were just completely robbed of screen time and in turn nobody even wants to see most of them return.

Yup! Tina, Vecepia, Jenna, Dani B, Natalie White, Sandra in HvV, Sophie, Michele, etc. all come to mind IMMEDIATELY. I feel like the number of woman winners who received lots of screentime AND a generally more positive edit than whatever man came in 2nd-4th place is pitifully small and can basically be counted on one hand - Sandra in PI, Parvati, maybe a few others but idk.
It really annoys me when some people act over dramatic to become famous through survivor. Think Jonny FairPlay, coach, Philip. I don’t think they’re that dramatic and crazy in real life, and they’re mostly acting to get air time. Just really not genuine

Russel player in the old survivor, where trust and loyalty were what won. These days, theres no hurt feelings about blindsides and big moves are rewarded. I have to think he would’ve won in this era, but of tribal psychology, being ahead of your time isn’t exactly an advantage
Russell's issue isn't he backstabbed people or played cutthroat. His issue is he treated people like garbage and seemed to make it his mission to piss off the jury without realizing he was burning his own path to victory.

As much as I did enjoy Russell in Samoa and think he should've won that season, it makes sense as even though he played a super good strategic game, his social game and jury management was terrible, which is a crucial part of winning. It was arguably worse in Heroes vs. Villains and makes a lot more sense why he lost HvV (while I do think Parvati should have won HvV). So while Russell's strategic game was arguably one of the best, he had a terrible social game and jury management, so he really wasn't robbed the second time around, and it made sense why he lost the first time, even though Natalie didn't seem to play that well of a strategic game according the edit.
