Hi there, I m from Slovakia, just before I watched this video, I actually watched your traditional dance - classical hindu dance, it's very much like goddess dancing and praying to Shiva at the same time. Very beautiful. And yes, you're right, it is kind of "soldier style", folk dance is always influenced by the overall culture and history of the country, I think, it's like a mirror of people in a time.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW❤ this is so beautiful this dance. I can't even do it even though I'm kind of a professional dancer but I don't take dance classes lol I was born with it but this is insane God. They must be exhausted by the time they got home. This hard work takes time to practice and we appreciate the people that worked hard on it and the dancers and helping the costumes as well they need to be on Britain's got talent. I swear this is so amazing, one of my friend is from Slovakia and I still keep in touch with him by Discord and Roblox (I think you already tell by my profile picture lol) but this is amazing I can't stop saying how amazing this is, it's better than the uk one if I say so myself, I'm gonna have to make a video and compare it with the Netherlands and uk dance Absolutely amazing this is why Slovakia is my favourite country absolutely amazing from the one and only NATO member and the most chaotic and crazy country (that's my opinion) the United Kingdom (UK) 🇬🇧🫱🏼‍🫲🏻🇸🇰 Keep up the good work friend!

No, just boots, but in this region (East Slovakia - Zemplin in my estimate) they add "ostruhy" to them. I belive they were originaly for riding horses, but used in folklore for the clincking sound. Plus it looks good imho 😉

Why is Slovakia continuing in a Hungarian (Magyarized) tradition with its cultural clothes/attire, music, vocals, Instruments, feathered hats that look more like October fest in Germany than a Slavic attire? It is a Slavic nation not a Germanic or Hungarian one. The only thing Slavic left in Slovakia is the Slovak Language. I speak Arabic, doesn't make me an Arab. You can choose your culture but not your race or ethnicity. Slovakia is Slavic Nation not Germanic or Hungarian and it still continues to follow a westernized physical culture, forget about Czechia, that's basically another German state, Why is Slovakia with its freedom and long fought over Independence continuing the traditions of its oppressors that lasted for over 1,000 years? Honestly As a Slovakian Slav, I find myself looking towards Russia or Belarus or Ukraine to find my Slavic heritage which is honestly sad and disappointing on Slovakia and all Western Slavic nations part. The idea that some Slavic nations have to used the term Western, in my opinion is a red flag as Slavs are not westerners from their very origins. Why is it that Bulgaria, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Croatia, etc. still keep their culture alive through modernization without westernizing? They also have had influences from other cultures, yet they still sound more in touch with their Slavic roots in all cultural aspects than Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, and Czechia.

Because we are western slavs, in balkan you have southern slavs and on the left side you have eastern slavs. If you want to get to the roots learn about paganism in our area as that is the our original before the christians came and "westernized" us

Just say you want to be russian and hate hungary and go lmao
Youre saying it as if all the "more western" countries werent actually more on the west. Countries like Croatia, macedonia, Serbia etc are literally in southern europe while slovakia, czech republic and poland are central europe, theres bound to be a difference. Plus it is our culture, weve been influenced by hungary for years, not by russia.

I will answer you on behalf of the Croatians, we kept our culture and national traditional clothing, instruments and dances, we have kept our culture and thats from every corner of the country, we are proud of it. We are westernised one one hand but on the other we are proud to keep and show our culture

Are you jealous ? Why not spread love to other Hungarian performances than share this false hate !!!
