Recently introduced to this AMAZING band! "Found" them by accident on Pandora after being introduced to Sharky Puppy. In Love! I love that I have the appreciation for music such as this. I have my parents to thank and a few close friends for widening my genre. Go head Lettuce! Do the dam thing! I'd love to see them in concert.
Drew L Thank you for that little tidbit of information. I'll have to check out dates...dam. Making me miss my big brother now. He would have loved this band!
Lettuce came out with this first.... members of Soulive played in the original line up of Lettuce... and still do from time to time. You can download this CD from Rhapsody.
Lettuce Live in Tokyo at the Blue Note playing 'Breakout' originally by Soulive. This version is the sickest groove I've heard in forever - BUT Skip all the way to teh end of the CD to hear Me'Shell Ndegeocello playing the bass along to the groove - Amazingly insane!!! Super rare CD though - its literally a burnt copy of the show and packaging is paper sleeve with a sticker
22 people don't know good music. Good music could take them out for a night on the town. Good music could wine, dine & entertain them all night long. Good music could take them home and bed them. The next morning those 22 would look over at good music and ask, "Who are you?" to which good music would answer, "I am good music." The 22 would respond with, "I don't know you...why are you in my house?"
It's cold, wintery and depressing outside but this track has totally brought the sunshine and all the feels in. I'll probably listen to this about 10 times just to get me through the day. Awesome track guys! I'm only sorry I've only just found out who you are through the Ronnie Scott's mailshot but you've got another fan here in the UK.
@myjazzvibes Nope. I wasnt trying to prove a point now i am. The original version is from the 'Breakout' album that released in 2005. This version is from the 'Live in Tokyo at the Blue Note" CD released in '04 but recorded in '03. It was written and composed by Eric Krasno of Soulive. Its wasnt originally a song per say, just a groove but became popular on tour and recorded at the Blue Note. so technically it was made popular by Lettuce buts its a Soulive song.
They have a style , sound that belongs to them , they do remind me of The Average White Band , along with The Brand New Heavies, That' s pretty good company to be with...
cavs102000 you prolly never heard of Cold Blood. Listen to Shop Talk sometimes. Cold Blood n TOP had common members all from the Bay area (East Bay Funk)
Nope, this is definitely Lettuce. Just listen - Adam Dietch is clearly on drums. When Dietch is drumming in place of Alan Evans, you know it's Lettuce.
livedownloads(dot)com/searchRes.aspx?searchStr=lettuce&x=0&y=0 They got a few sets on livedownloads not sure if this is on there but it helps support the band.
+Doyle Cooper He doesn't even want to buy it. A google search can bring you every result it 0.1 of a seconds. He could have easily done that, he just wants to tell you how much better he is then you.
@PBrew2 No, that's incorrect. Lettuce came out with this first.... members of Soulive played in the original line up of Lettuce... and still do from time to time. You can download this CD from Rhapsody.
