  • Welcome to my comprehensive tutorial where I dive into the intricate process of perming your hair extensions with ISO Option 2! If you're looking to add bouncy curls or waves to your hair extensions, you're in the right place.
    Before You Start:
    - Ensure your hair extensions are high-quality, can withstand chemical treatments, and are not synthetic.
    - Conduct a strand test to confirm the extensions will react well to the perm solution.
    What You’ll Need:
    - ISO Option 2 Perm Kit
    - Hair extensions
    - Perm rods (size based on desired curl tightness)
    - Neutralizer
    - Gloves
    - Timer
    - Towel
    - Comb
    Step-by-Step Guide:
    1. Preparation:
    - Gently wash your hair extensions with a clarifying shampoo and let them dry completely.
    - Carefully comb through the extensions to remove any tangles.
    2. Section and Wrap:
    - Divide the hair into manageable sections.
    - Starting from the bottom, wrap the hair around the perm rods. Ensure the wrapping is firm and even for consistent curls.
    3. Applying the Perm Solution:
    - Wear your gloves
    - Evenly apply the ISO Option 2 perm solution to each rod-wrapped section of hair.
    - Ensure that the hair is fully saturated with the solution.
    4. Processing Time:
    - Refer to the ISO Option 2 instructions for the recommended time, remember hair extensions need minimal processing time
    - Check the curl development periodically without unwinding the rod.
    5. Rinsing:
    - Once the processing time is complete, thoroughly rinse the hair with hot water while the rods are still in.
    - Ensure that all the perm solution is completely washed out.
    6. Neutralizing:
    - Apply the neutralizer to each rod-wrapped section of hair.
    - Let it process according to the neutralizer’s instructions, usually around 5 minutes.
    - Rinse out the neutralizer thoroughly with cool water.
    7. Unwrapping and Drying:
    - Carefully remove the perm rods.
    - Gently blot the hair with a towel to remove excess water. Avoid rubbing the hair.
    - Let the hair dry naturally or use a diffuser on a low heat setting.
    8. Aftercare:
    - Avoid washing or styling the hair with heat for at least 48 hours.
    - Use hair care products designed for chemically treated hair to maintain the health and vitality of your curls.
    Final Thoughts:
Perming your hair extensions is a great way to add texture and volume. ISO Option 2 provides a reliable and effective solution for achieving beautiful, long-lasting curls. Remember to perform a strand test first and follow each step carefully for the best results.

Thanks for sharing your tutorial! I recently purchased Honeyblonde/brown hair extensions and I am looking to perm them to match the natural texture of my hair. The extensions were only available in straight texture. I currently am using the straight hair extensions but find myself having to straighten my natural hair. Can I perm the extensions while they are on my hair? I’m not worried about altering my natural hair as I have wavy/loose curl natural hair.

Great question! Glad you found my tutorial helpful. I opt to perm the extensions out of the head, I find it much easier to do it prior to the install. Depending on the method it could be hard to isolate the natural hair from the extension hair once it’s in your head. If you are adamant that you want to do it I would avoid the point of attachment completely and start further down, work in small sections and process for the minimum time, checking constantly. Hope this helps!

This looks really great but can u use this product with very blonde extensions or do you recommend a different brand ?

    • @xsamhair
      @xsamhair  Před měsícem

Yes! I have used this on blonde extensions also and it works great - I tend to reduce the processing time on blonde hair extensions.

This is a little confusing. Do you keep the prewrap on ?

    • @xsamhair
      @xsamhair  Před 4 dny

Yes! Clarify the hair, apply pre wrap solution and wrap, apply perm solution, let develop rinse out, then neutralizer or air neutralize.
