    I have always loved baking. I make cakes for my family and friends all the time. My 1st cakes weren't that great. But! I specifically stayed away from piping flowers because I Never thought I could do it until I found your channel. A few weeks ago, I just sat down for a few hours every day, with a bag of royal icing (because it's super cheap to make) and went for it. I started with 5 petal flowers, roses, and worked my way up. A week later, just in time for Easter. I had a cake decorated with royal icing flowers. My practice flowers. Next week I'm making a gnome cake with flowers because I can now.
    I can't say enough to praise you for teaching me how to do this.
    From the bottom of my heart, Thank you SO much for being here for people like me!!! ❤❤❤❤

      Thanks for the kind words cheryl8466 and thanks for sharing! I'm so glad our channel is helping your practice and learn the skills you want to work into your cake decorating. Royal Icing is such a great way to practice your flowers(doesn't melt and can be made ahead)and build up your confidence. I'm sure your easter cake was lovely and your gnome cakes sounds like it's going to be adorable! Thanks for taking time to encourage us and others here with your words. ❤️🎂❤️

      thanks I love roses too, unfortunately I'm horrible at growing them. the only way I can make flowers is in frosting. I wish I had the talent and the time for gardening too! So glad you enjoyed the tutorial!

    What type of buttercream do you use?

    • @CakeDecoratingSchool
      @CakeDecoratingSchool  Před rokem +2

      we are using an American style(or simple) buttercream that is made with butter so it can be chilled to create easy to handle flowers to place on your cake. You could easily use Swiss or Italian meringue for these flowers as well. I use the American since it's easy to color and make for beginners and is a little more approachable and you can really do a lot with it.
