Known to have the most consistent forehand in history. 3 times world champion and an incredible player. Great video and respect to the legend.
Hao Han it's so naturally wide.
full agreed, in the mostimportant moments, he didntmakes a mistske with the forehsnd my GOAT besssides waldner
Besides his forehand I also admire his attitude... a very honest player and have good sportsmanship
Most Chinese national players have to be a good sportsman. Remember poor Wang Chuqin, got suspended for 1/2 a year for throwing his racket.
@@benthekeeshond545 Wang CQ is very famous for that
@@benthekeeshond545 Nope,Ma Lin was pretty nasty and Kong Linghui always came up with excuses.
@@dickn.ormous1064 I am just curious what did ma lin and Kong do inappropriately?
@@carlswindelliv2701 it happened that Ma Lin may argue whether it's an edge ball or not. Wang would just give the point to him even though the umpire says otherwise. Both are great players though.
He is and will be the only player in history to win 21 point and 11 point singles world table tennis championship...
Wow, you are on point.
Was Wang playing with the genuine 38mm TT ball or the 40mm ball? What year was that? 2001?
@@benthekeeshond545 Wang Liqin plays since 1996 (or even earlier)
Wang Liqin’s full bodied forehand top spins are amazingly aesthetic.
3:27 dat shot
About as much right-left spin as I've ever seen.
52 months at worldwide first spot.
Second best performance in history behind ML.
I think it speaks by itself...
For such a tall lad, his footwork and agility is breathtaking. And the rallies, particularly against his fellow countrymen, are outstanding. I could watch the lad all day.
Yeap, power comes naturally from his height.Oh Sang Eun who is of similar height could hit rockets without even trying. It's the agility that makes him phenomenal.
@@dickn.ormous1064 yes, very true
Amazing compilation! Wang Liqin's forehand was just god mode. And when you factor in his height, it's just frickin scary...
Incredible forehand, always with an excellent physique, extremely consistent player. Only one who might accompany him may be the zhendong fan.
True but ML is above both of them.
Unusual among taller players, he could dominate shorter players w/o having to move back a lot. Eg. it was Tan Ruiwu in the 2008 Olympics that was getting forced back.
I wish he would play professional forever, so entertaining to watch and in general a first class sportsman. I think he's a key figure for chinese table tennis, coming from penholder to shakehand style. It's hard to imagine players like Ma Long and Fan Zhendong if there was no Wang Liquin. In one word: Legend
Great video!! Absolutely loved it. Thanks mate for video.
So good! Thanks for making this video!
Tianye Li olo
Still my fav player. Learned inside out forehand watching Liqin.
His style is just perfect. A joy to watch.
3:27 - BEAST MODE
A super player. I love him.
crazy how he controlled Lin penhold player
When you think Ma long is the best forehand. No no no, we have Wang liqin. LOL
his forehand is PERFECT
Absolutely incredible player. May well be the most exciting to watch on his day
Wow! What a spectacular player he had been! Can I watch his splendid play once again? I shall never forget being impressed with his amazing play in the cutthroat competition! :-)
such a consistent forehand combined with spin and speed
most people think Ma Long has best forehand and biggest champion but honestly wang liqin was better champion, true winner and more solid and cool player.
Wang's era was more challenging and Ma Long was really vulnerable under stress
according to me, Wang Liqin was best and most stable player i've ever seen after JOWaldner
one of the best to have ever played the game.
Wang liqin is the Chinese player who was consistent after Lui Gioliang and Kong linrg ewui. He was the one who save everything for China in 2000 to 2010
Wow! What a legendary player
My first table tennis idol 😍
I like WL always
Super player ♥
Best forehand in the business. His backhand was awesome too of course, but his forehand.....goodness me. It's not just the power and speed.....it's the consistency and precise placement. He may well be my joint favourite, along with Waldner
His fh to fh rallies are legendary. I cant think of any player who is as talented as wlq, may be only Zhang Jike. Respect to the legend.
And Ma Long imo, the Dragon is too good and has a similar style
Wang was really good for more than 10 years. Winning 3 WTTC Singles. What can we ask for from a TT player? Wang and Ma Lin were actually the equal but Wang peaked during WTTC seasons and I think that was how he won against Ma Lin at the WTTC tournaments.
his transition from block to attack is just fluid
my table tennis idol growing up
Love how Waldner took him apart at the 1997 Japan open. That is what happens when your opponent won't let you play how you want to play. Wang trained so hard he deserves all the accolades givin to him.
3:34 this my favorite shot in all table tennis soo much top spin with little bit side spin when the ball landed on the floor it didn't bounce it spin through the barrier
Table tennis will never forget wang liqin
His forehand was out of this world.
3:28 when talking about Wang LQ, I always remember this one, just look at the ball trajectory 😱
Mantab, pemain legend nih.
Salam pingpong dari Semarang, Indonesia
The best pívot forehand of all times
The footwork!
Wang Liqin is the king of TT tennis.
Certainly one of the top 10 best of all time! If not top 5...For me he is second best next to Ma Long...
honestly i think that if Ma Long and Wang Liqin could play against each other in their prime; WL would win mostly especially in big matches
Wang Liqin was really very solid and consistent player and great performance under tension.
10 years between them
But Ma Long also became more solid in recent years (his technique was always perfect but his play was not so consistent until 2015)
@@cenktekin7175 Wang Liqin was my favorite before the Ma Long era
Well it is believed that ma long learnt fh from liqin. I don't know if this is true but no one has a better fh than wlq. If ma long played wlq in prime I think wlq would win it because he was more athletic n fit n flexible.
Super forehand
Entertaining first point
It is fun to watch the the alines play😮
The goat!
Liqin takes the ball early hence its tremendous speed by forehand.
Legend
👍👍👍
makes it look so easy
The rallies against Xu Xin were insane.
Ídolo
3:29 scared the crap out of me...
either Wang Liqin , Ryu Seung Min , Ma Long or Xu Xin have the best forehand.
can't decide
ryu have good forehnad because of the speed glue, ma long have a strong forehand, xu xin is inconsistent.
Speed glue is the best era, there's diversity in table tennis. not just shakehand players
you can easily tell if someone is a Ma Long fanboy if among the top players you mentioned .. they only praises Ma Long
Imo in terms of power, it's wang liqin. When it comes to speed, ryu seung min. Ma long has the best decision making and xu xin has versatility.
Not forgetting Zhang Jike, who produced and incredibly 'heavy' ball on his forehand.
His forehand is often very outstretched which contradicts what coaches advise students not to do.
I also notice he uses the openent's spin to deliver returns that send the ball in a direction other than where you'd expect the ball to be going. Very rapid anticipation and reflexes.
Ball often dips short of the net with precision and speed. It is clear why Wang is multiple world champion.
This is chiniese style forehand. Chinese tabletenis lovers often thinks the EU style forehand is not standard
@@xuzifeng9901 This is the Hungarian forehand also used by Waldner.
@@dickn.ormous1064 J.O Waldner is a legend. Sweeden table tennis players have big forehand
@@dickn.ormous1064 In my opinion, before the application of inorganic glue, forehand is bigger than backhand, even there was exist of backhand monster like Wang Hao and Kreanga in 2000 - 2010
Reminds me of Ivan Lendl, the Tennis player.
He plays so much like Xu Xin
Both from Shanghai.
I luv his name
So when and why did he retire?

Whos the other player at 6:32
Table tennis Bruce Lee... He was a fantastic player
Xu Xin next or Zhang Jike ?
I will do Xu Xin and Zhang Jike when I have more time, they are great players so I want to do it properly, that means lot of hours watching table tennis :). Thanks for suggestion and for your comment Christian Adrian Aniceta.
He is like Dhalsim from street fighter :P
To watch table tennis you must have super fit eyes otherwise you'll see nothing.
can I put this video on Bilibili??? there are many ping pong fans!!!
Yes you can, but you need to put the link to my channel on youtube and ask people to subscribe to my channel. Thank you for watching!
of course I will!!! thanks!
and I find so many videos of others players, can I also share those on the same website???
There is no need for that, you can put the link in to description to other videos on my channel. One video is ok, but more than that I think is not fair.
Ok ok I see. Because Bilibili is a chinese website and so many of us can´t see videos from youtube, I will put the link here as long as I pass inspection of the website. Thanks again>_
3:28 wtf that trajectory.

please some german backhands
I always wonder how dominant Wang Liqin could have been if he had above average backhand. But I suppose it's too much to ask for perfection.
I think he did have above average bh. It's just that his forehand was way above average.
"Average" is probably the wrong word. He couldn't do the kind of back-hand rally like many of his European contemporaries. But I guess you are right. Shouldn't expect him to have a backhand like that of Maze, Primorac or Kreanga. :)
TheVampB don't forget, that his style would have been different if he had a better backhand.
That's true too. Might even have something to do with his grip.
I guess it's part of his style. Wouldn't be as dominant with a more balanced play. At this level it's better to have a super strong shot than being average everywhere. And it's beautiful to watch (like ma lin). Ovtcharov may have a fantastic backhand, he still looks like he's a weird retarded guy when playing !
whos the korean at 1:37 ??
I think he is 吳尚銀.. I donot know how to spell it in Korean or English.
yes thank you! its Oh Sang Eun
Vater Schea 垠?
7:25
Wang lickin
2:03 is cruel
Even FZD won't last to the Godly forehand of WL. Check 5:44
Really unfortunate name
why?
Beautiful table tennis is almost dead. Now it's all about power, staying close to the table, and hitting as hard as possible from both sides. It's like women table tennis, only with more strength. Terrible.
