This wonderful radio production captures the vocal magic of Gertrude Lawrence. It's great to hear her great humor in JENNY. It's too bad that LADY IN THE DARK was produced in the era when cast albums were in their infancy. How wonderful it would have been to have had a complete cast recording of LADY IN THE DARK with Gertrude Lawrence. We are lucky to have these remnants of her fun, sophisticated, heartfelt performance. I very much appreciate the RCA recordings with Lawrence but the three songs she sings in this radio production more closely adhere to what her actual stage performance must have been like. Thank you!!
