Very interesting, Charles Hoskinson said Hydra would make Cardano one of the fastest chains TPS. He didn’t mention there were limitations as to how many can join a head for it to be secure. More research perhaps. Great video packed with information as usual, many thanks Paul.
Thanks Chris, in some cases it can provide really quick and cheap transactions but its not something that can be deployed across the full chain its more individual cases like Pi mentioned. Hopefully as they keep building it things like having to open and close the head with new participants and even the speed when you have bigger numbers can be improved

Is there an unlimited number of hydro heads that can be running at once? Is there a maximum number of transactions that can be implemented in a hydra head before it has to be reintroduced back into the global chain?

Hey Paul I would love to vote for Sundae proposals on Catalyst 10 but have 6 wallets that are all currently participating in ongoing ISPOs. Is there a way to use them all to vote without sending all the ADA from each to one to vote?
If they are in ISPOs then the ADA is still in your wallet so you can use that voting power. You would need to register each individual wallet or move all ADA into one for the snapshot date and then back out after. It would mean for 1 epoch all your ADA would be in one ISPO rather than them all
just register each wallet if they hit the minimum about of ada to vote. Then it doesn’t matter each individual wallet can vote. But if you don’t have the minimum in any one wallet but your total amount of ada in all 6 wallets makes the you have to move the ada.
but I think this is accurate but not sure.
@@grandadcrypto Each wallet has more than the minimum. I didn't know I could register more than one wallet in the Catalyst app will get to it. Thanks a lot!
You could do it on each individual wallet but in previous rounds you could only register 1 wallet with the voting app at a time. You could work around it by unlinking and linking up the new accounts to vote each time but its a bit of a pain compared to putting all ADA in 1 wallet for the snapshot and then only voting once
The hydra tail protocoli is supposed to address the not shutting down when people leave. A consistently live protocol

Its technically possible but right now there is no use case for that

@CardanoWithPaul What they're asking is, can Cardano settle thousands of transactions every block similar to how thousands of people are simultaneously swiping VISA cards. What we want to know is, could Cardano be faster, cheaper, and scalable to handle as much business as Amex does everyday? Can you please give a straight answer to that specifically? Do you respond? Or a huge ADA fan and proud hodler. Same team here bro.
Nobody currently has a need for million TPS. What is important is the block transaction time for 50K TPS. If Hydra can bring that to Cardano we will be unstoppable.
