And yes you won’t be able to get fluent from just duolingo. To learn a language, along-side duolingo, watch serials in that languages or drama in that language. I've used Duolingo to learn multiple languages. It teaches you the basics, beyond that, you can't learn. You will have to supplement with other resources if you want to get to anywhere near fluency with this app.
Actually, Duolingo has 3 of the aspects. 1) Reading: Well of course you read the words while learning. 2) Speaking: Duolingo actually has some speaking exercises in between lessons. 3) Listening: You can hear the pronunciation of words in Duolingo. Suppose you are learning Spanish:-- If Duolingo asks you to translate the Spanish sentence to English, you can hear them saying that Spanish sentence. You can also click the speaker icon in order to hear it again. Now the only aspect left is "Writing". But if a person was seriously dedicated to learning a language, then they should have a notebook of that language. They should take notes of the words they learn. So, I'd say that you do have a chance of being successful with Duolingo only if you are really dedicated.
Yeah. That's why Duolingo is for beginners because it teaches you the basics. It may not make you fluent, but it HELPS you to be fluent. It also should be noted that other methods should be used to speak the language along with Duolingo
the thing is, i’ve been learning german and i can piece together my own sentences using the words from the sentences that duolingo teaches me and plus i am learning this as a hobby and if i ever do move to germany then i will take proper courses with professionals.
It’s not a scam. Yes completely learning a language means fully immersing yourself in the culture and interacting with people from that country. But duo lingo does teach you a lot. I’ve been learning Arabic and German and I can say my reading and writing skills are good.
I learned Spanish from duo lingo and simultaneously listened to music and podcasts and in about 6 months or so... I was having conversations with natives.. Now obviously alone it might not be enough but it was definitely the most important component of my learning
I learnt korean on Duolingo, and i am speaking comfortably in that language which also includes like you said, writing, speaking, reading and listening. When you are not consistent, you may face problems while learning a language in this app. But if you are consistent, you can master it very well. Consistent is key man. Idk whether you are consistent in duolingo. But youre really consistent in hating apps like Duolingo. Never judge a book by its cover. You might have only finished 1 unit in it. But the further you go, the more advance you get in that particular language. So, 말 조심해라!!
Though Duolingo is technically not the right way to fluently learn a language, try getting in contact with someone who also speaks the language you’re learning. My boyfriend helps me out when I’m learning Spanish. He’s like my little teacher ❤️
I doubt that people who start using duolingo truly think they will be fluent almost immediately, I find it mad that people expect that in a matter of weeks or months they will be fluent.
My God. What nonsense. If anyone believes a language app alone will have them speaking like natives that is more a reflection of their unrealistic expectations than the app itself. Duolingo doesn't claim any such thing. It is a learning aid, and a very good one at that. I have been doing it for a year, and can read basic Spanish now. Will be a great foundation when I am in the country next.
Duolingo has reading, speaking, listening ,and writing some main points that you feel like you need to write is honestly up to you and the sentences don't have to make sense it is not to know sentences but to know words that help you form your own sentences
My friend learned spanish in just a few months through duolingo. I'm fluent and was impressed by the level of casual conversation she was able to hold with me in spanish.
I've always said this to my friends when they want to use it to learn any language, beginning by the fact that they don't even explains the grammar, they just spit sentences and we try to repeat them
duolingo is very useful, it has writing (or atleast in japanese), speaking, reading, listening and more, and also with duolingo max, they give full explanations to what you go wrong,
you can also nudge family members to learnt duolingo, it gives you reminders everyday and yes, i have reached high goals like 200 day streak and 300 day streaks so..

Sorry Duolingo
"Now beg for your life in Spanish :)"

Bruh you need to use the stuf you learn on the app and add more words to your vocabulary, you should just create sentences of what you actually speak, duolingo is the first step ✨
Bro lost his streak and he is now mad lol
It's good for casual learners like me though.
Marcus the truth is either you learn a language properly or you don’t, there is no Middle ground.

This is complete BS Duolingo is good there were things I never knew about in just a few months I learned Arabic good enough that if one day I woke up and verbody started speaking Arabic I would probably become fluent in 2-3 months where as if it happened to someone completely oblivious to Arabic language it would probably take him 6 months to 2 years Duolingo dosent teach you anything if anything you just learn by your mistakes Your mother didn't teach you how to speak you learned by speaking and correcting mistakes yourself it's great to at least get started
I started using that app Yesterday, it has reading, writing, speaking and listening, i have no idea what this guy is talking about.
If you wanna learn spanish, just complete all the lessons, after that start watching shows with spanish subtitles and try to decode what they say, it will make you fluent.
the like to dislike ratio speaks for itself💀
I'm fluent in Ukrainian now thanks to Duoling. It depends on how much time you spend on learning and most importantly you gotta have a good memory.
It's better to have something rather than just scrolling insta or stuff ,
I use language learning books to learn Japanese step by step ,
But for time-pass practice I use Duolingo,
Stuff like listening and talking can be done by online friends , platforms such as discord and Twitter,
Listening to Japanese music and watching movies as a daily routine of mine , I can confidently say that I might be able to have a hold on the language in the near future
I'm learning Japanese and one I saw is that it is very unreliable and inconvenient
Wow. Seriously? Duolingo offers listening, speaking and writing practices as well as matching words.
Duolingo isn’t a scam, seems like your video is a scam.
And yes you won’t be able to get fluent from just duolingo. To learn a language, along-side duolingo, watch serials in that languages or drama in that language. You’ll soon fluently be able to speak it.
Thanks
The upgraded duolingo: 💀
?
I think this comes across as you only look at the first lesson and figure it is a scam, sure it shouldn't be your only way to learn a language but it helps you get your feet wet to move on to other things with more ease.
Bhai ye scam tab hota jab ye paise leta hamase or galat language sikhata ye app free hai or ye sahi vocab sikhati hai or ye itni to sikha hi deti hai ki kisi country ki language sikho to waha ja kar aap apna necessary chezze to kar sako
So it wasn't scam bro
Its a good base to start ,offers competitive lesson plan and easily accessible
Not to mention that it's free
Definitely not a Scam
It has speaking exercises I did one today, I did writing too. There’s reading aswell
Edit: almost forgot about the listening ones 😭😭😭😭😭
Tip for those using Duolingo: Say what your are reading out loud! There, you have 3!
Bro actually is Mad as Ohio Mental Hospital people💀.
Thanks man

I've used Duolingo to learn multiple languages. It teaches you the basics, beyond that, you can't learn. You will have to supplement with other resources if you want to get to anywhere near fluency with this app.
Actually, Duolingo has 3 of the aspects.
1) Reading: Well of course you read the words while learning.
2) Speaking: Duolingo actually has some speaking exercises in between lessons.
3) Listening: You can hear the pronunciation of words in Duolingo. Suppose you are learning Spanish:--
If Duolingo asks you to translate the Spanish sentence to English, you can hear them saying that Spanish sentence.
It also should be noted that other methods should be used to speak the language along with Duolingo
no scam mr.
okay Mr. ? Mrs?
It's called "idioma" in spanish not "lengua"!
Duolingo has all aspects. Am I high?
Bro just missed his spanish lesson.
Ain’t no way an Indian person telling me
the thing is, i’ve been learning german and i can piece together my own sentences using the words from the sentences that duolingo teaches me and plus i am learning this as a hobby and if i ever do move to germany then i will take proper courses with professionals.
It's still better than wasting your time on shorts
Probably
It’s not a scam. Yes completely learning a language means fully immersing yourself in the culture and interacting with people from that country. But duo lingo does teach you a lot. I’ve been learning Arabic and German and I can say my reading and writing skills are good.
Language learning is a gradual process,so it takes much time to be fluent.
I learned Spanish from duo lingo and simultaneously listened to music and podcasts and in about 6 months or so... I was having conversations with natives.. Now obviously alone it might not be enough but it was definitely the most important component of my learning
very good
I learnt korean on Duolingo, and i am speaking comfortably in that language which also includes like you said, writing, speaking, reading and listening.
Duolingo is coming for you....
You are absolutely wrong. Duolingo is the best free tutor in the world for 100+ languages.
Plot twist: He learnt english from duolingo...
😅😂😅😂😅
I learned half Japanese by doulingo its not a scam
Though Duolingo is technically not the right way to fluently learn a language, try getting in contact with someone who also speaks the language you’re learning. My boyfriend helps me out when I’m learning Spanish. He’s like my little teacher ❤️
I doubt that people who start using duolingo truly think they will be fluent almost immediately, I find it mad that people expect that in a matter of weeks or months they will be fluent.
I don’t care,
*If it makes me smarter than my Spanish teacher then I’m using it.*
You can use some words that you learned and combine it to a useful sentence, in case of any scenario.
This video itself is a scam ….. duolingo has reading, listening and speaking aspects… and yes it works😊
Good for you
In 25 days i have learned many chinese words and i am going to keep it up. Its a good app teaching in a fun way , it has all 4 aspects you mentioned.
Guys chill this video is uploaded before duolingo got updated
The reason sounds like a student's cry on math homework.
The only way to learn a language is to live three years with the speakers of that language.
