- Rare top trim model with navigation. Still a great car, tho a tad too pricey in this top trim especially with the dated Navigation map and interface, really excited for the 2013 model. Its amazing how a fully loaded Kia Optima (which i would compare to this car) is about $31,400 similarly equipped. At that price, I would stick with the Honda, its just crazy how the Koreans used to be thousands cheaper and now they are asking for Japanese money (although, admittedly the Kia is much better looking than this Accord, but I would rather own and drive a Honda over a Kia today still)
I owned a 1987 Accord (bought used), 1994 Accord (bought used), 2001 Accord (bought new), and now I own a 2012 Accord (bought new). One general feature: they never break. I am not counting regular maintenance, and replacing normal wear items (tires, brakes, wiper blades). I traded away the 2001 at 200,000 Kms (125,000 miles) on the original clutch (all were manual transmission). Incredible cars !
What are you driving now?
I ended up grabbing that car same as this one all white with the spoiler I love it .
A 2011 version of this car gets me through a 90-mile (round trip) commute every weekday.
A 90 mile commute is really hard on a 22 year old. But having this Accord really helps out. I love it.

🥺
Do you still do this commute????? 😱
@@sirot5561 Luckily not, haven't had to since 2019. However, the Accord has over 166,000 miles now, she's a little worse for wear but still runs good.

I just bought My 2012 Black Honda Accord ExL- V6 with Navigation with only 26,000 miles a week ago. Brand spanking New condition, like you would buy straight New. Got it for $13,975. Can't complain it's fully loaded!
Bought the same car fully loaded v6 white...love the car, wish I could make it slightly faster with out being loud...almost a year later no complaints.
@@waltergaines201 I don't drive much either since I work remotely, don't need to drive hardly ever. Only added 900 miles since purchasing the car Oct 2020. I
Lol I have this car in the Red Basque Pearl. Beautiful combination with this same interior
My Accord never had 2 miles on it, at least since I've had it. It had 41,589 miles when I got it in early May 2013. She passed 75,000 on Thu, Aug. 27, 2015. $32,000 is a lot. Mine was $22,000, used. Thought about getting a '13 Accord LX, but I'm glad I went with the older body style and all the bells and whistles. I plan on replacing my Accord in late 2022 when the 2023 Accord comes out. That is if they keep on the redesigns in years ending in "3" and "8". I guess it will be an early 30th birthday present (I turn 30 on Dec. 25, 2022).
I'm a former Honda hater. But I've loved Honda for 4 years now. My first car was an '08 Accord. Got it May 4, 2012 at age 19. I live in a small town where people usually get their first car at 16 but I have Asperger's syndrome and that made me not ready to drive for a few extra years. A year later that '08 Accord saved my mom's life.

I just bought the Honda Accord Ex -L, 4 door,polished granite. Love it! Was able to get the price down. It's the 2012. I love everything,,,,never thought that I would get a 4 door.,,but it is really nice.. Wish it had a Wish it had a navigation. My Honda dealership was very nice to work with. I am in a 3 yr lease. I plan on getting back on the road and doing some fun things. I've actually sold my 1990 Honda accord ex, for $1700. 198,000 miles. Was a great car!
I have this exact car, 11 years old now. The Timing belt service due now is pricy (1000$ at dealer) but to me the V6 is totally worth it, I had a 2008 LX-P 4 cyl, and it was slow. This 2012 V6 is like a different car.
I Ilike both the Honda Accord 2012 and the Acura TSX 2012. My brother has the Acura TSX 2012 and I have the Honda Accord 1998. I so want the new Honda Accord 2012, the TSX is really nice too.

As a former Honda Service Advisor (2001-2004), I can tell you that the last model year before the new design is the BEST year to buy. They have gotten every little kink out of it by the time it hit's the last year in that model design series.
Let's hope Honda does wonders on the 2013 Accord V6....because Toyota's 2012 XLE V6 model seems to be a serious threat.
I prefer this interior over the 2013 Accord interior.
Honda offers a really nice factory spoiler with 3rd brake light on these V6's. Id get one if I was getting an Accord.
Acura is Honda's luxury division, Honda created the brand. I was merely stating that the materials in the vehicle are very "Acura" like, thats a compliment of the interior quality
Well it's a honda in the 1st place i think it's one of the best cars in the world i really love my 2013 EX L V6 Coupe, very good equip and very strong car it'll last for years, 34k for my accord, the 2013 C250 Sport is at 35k...but give it couple years and you'll see which will be going to the mechanic every 6 months
Besides the fact that looks are Subjective, I assume you are indicating that the Accord still has a relatively angular shape with pretty strong character lines, as opposed to the new stuff coming out of the Far East. Either way, I respect that as your opinion, but I personally l love this Accord shape. I don't really feel the curvy "dynamic" lines of the new stuff coming out. I really dig more angular and strong lines.
But each to their own I guess.
you probably can't tell that the stereo system is good from listening to it over this video but I have a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 and the stereo system is AMAZNIG. it is a very good car.. feels like your flying a plane. my only downfall.. which is a small thing is that there is no "push to start". I have a 2 year old son & i always leave something in the house and i have to turn the car off and take him back out of the car just to get the thing i almost forgot.. its annoying. But Acura has them
its a great car, and yes the V6 is awesome. but the new 2013 is coming this jan 10 as a concept and it will hit the dealers by the fall of 2012.. Honda said it will have start/stop system, agressive style, and a new VTEC w/ direct injection. and better fuel economy, so im going to wait for that car. my dad has a 08 Accord 4cyl EXL w nav too, and its sweet, but nothing like a V6. but im going to wait and see the new one.
i disagree...the 2012 model looks sporty and muscular. the 2013 looks like a big fat sausage with conservative styling and an awful interior...
ツ 😂
I like the red reflectors on the trunk lid. Makes it look nice
Just bought a new one today. So excited!
i love this honda accord soo much
I'm contemplating about which car I should get. I sold my 2007 Toyota Camry because of how mushy and grandma it was. I want a Honda, nothing more, and nothing less. I'm looking into this gen. Accord, or a CR-V. Im going to buy either one used, but don't know if I should buy one if the shape is going to change in a year, and the same for the CR-V. I need help! Accord, CR-V, TSX, or TL
I hate how Honda didn't let me have the option to get a white exterior with black interior on the Accord... I almost bought a 2011 Accord EX-L V6 with nav like the one here, but I couldn't justify getting a silver Accord w/ black interior and getting it painted white and couldn't justify paying the dealership to convert the ivory to black... Black interiors with white exteriors are the best imo
My favorite sedan in the class! It ages well but I can't wait to see the next one too! I just wish those bars on the trunk lit up like international models do.
It will def give you an advantage. Just time your purchase for memorial day and let them know how serious your are and that you need 2 vehicles. They will work with you
Some don't like buying cars that way, but me, on the other hand, I try to find a certified, end-of-model-year Honda. It's the best value after someone else takes the brunt of the depreciation when they buy it brand new. That's when I tell people to buy. Some have the money to always buy a brand new car. I like to save money when I can, ya know? Nice video, by the way.
I would really like this car. I want one in black. Looks great, like the last gen 5 series and I like the styling.
The best accord ever made IMO, the 2013 design is like going back to the past..
I feel the same way.
I like the older cars in this era 2006-2013.
Great Review!!!! Great Car!!!!
@KeepingModern
I agree completely, I would only get the V6 if it was paired with the 6MT
Ok, could anyone tell me which model has the rear spoiler and has bluetooth? I saw one at one dealership and i failed to get all the details on it. I just love how sporty it looked. It was a 2012 in silver.
BlaGGah The EX comes with bluetooth, but the spoiler is a dealer accessory.
Ahhhh, that explains it..
They released the photos fir the next Gen, and in my opinion I like it.
I love the smell of the new car
Opinion... I love my 2008 Honda Accord EX-L and think it's a beautiful car
May 14, 2012 12:20 am
i didnt see the last model any sportier or muscular i use to see as an big KIA Forte, i have the 2013 EX L Coupe V6
Love the Accord. We have an 08, but I absolutely hate this "mini generation." Love the 08-11, but now they've added those fake wrap around lights on the trunk. Looks like on old person's car!! Love the white though, and also can't wait to see what the next generation is going to be like!
I think it's time I get I new accord .... My 98 has 404000km!
@xoquixxoqafxo That is true but I love the sound of the 3.5L V6, and it flies. I've driven the SE V6 and it was fast and fairly fun to drive. I would only get the SE V6 in Barcelona Red Metallic. You could get dual zone auto climate as long as you buy the unit, I think. I could put Navi in my 4Runner (Toyota Navi unit) if I wanted, because it's already pre wired, its also pre wired for all other options like DAC, Fog Lights, etc.
@lexusES350h
I love the new Accord coupe concept... I'm just waiting to see how the sedan looks bc its what needed the most work
@upiluften correct, the maxima isnt in this class, its with the Taurus and Avalon
What about the i-vtec and vcm being known to burn oil in these cars? I am looking at the 2009 verison of this car with 178,000 KM on it for $11,500 canadian. Comes with a set of winter tires too.
It's the 2008's that were greatly affected. There are some 09's and 10's that were affected. I have a 2010 and I have no burning oil issue. Check the history of the car and I don't know if Canada Accords have the 8 year / Unlimited warranty on the engine. There was a lawsuit about the VCM issue.
Hondas are great, can wait till I get one when I turn 17.
I have a 2011 accord with navi and sunroof in this color :D
Hey that's my car!!!!
damn i could just literally ask some kid to do a review of this car
Pretty car
that is a pretty solid car. accord is pretty good too
Thank you for nice presentation.
depends how much you want to spend, you could get a great deal on the 2012 now but if you want the 2013 you will pay closer to sticker price for it. Personally, I would wait for the 2013 just bc i like to have the newest model
Hey, have you seen the 2013 accord coupe? I'm just wondering, what's your thought on the new styling?
@xoquixxoqafxo CVT are not as bad as everyone thinks, under normal driving which most people do cause of gas prices you wont even notice the CVT, just smooth acceleration. Nissan is also a leader in standard features like push start with intelligent key, moonroof, dual zone climate, bluetooth, 18 inch aluminum alloy wheels are all standard on the Maxima, can also get a rear power shade, rear radio and a/c controls, panaramic moonroof, most cars don't even offer these features.
I hope for 2013 on the sedan models they get rid of the Fake rear taillights, you know.. thos pointless reflectors. As far as interior goes, I LOVE IT! And I hope the V6 never dies from Honda. They need to stay N/A unless its a Type-S model or something. Curious to the 2013 TSX as well if Acura Keeps it.
i love my 2009... its great! :)
@Dillon1791
Acura is not getting rid of the TSX, it slots in between the ILX and TL
I hate the auto transmission shifts in these cars very rough from 1-2 I have a 2011 exl v6
The 2013 Honda Accord has a cvt and the back of it looks like Hyundai Genesis, but Honda's are good cars and i will forever like them
This car is fuckin dope I'm going to check one out tomorrow
The 2013 accords are alot better. Still driving my 2004 6MT black accord coupe , bought it brand new. The gas millage needs to get better and the quality. all those buttons are stupid and is a proven fact that the led lights behind the dash go bad after many years . To fix it you basically need to find the whole dash console. I like the 2013s however i think it still is best to wait until 2015 to see how these car evolve. Yeah 28k is what i would pay also for a EX-L to 30k ..
you shouldnt rev it higher than 3.5k when the engine is not break in
@khizers21
it may change next year, but you know a 12 model year Accord or 11 CRV will be incredibly reliable since it has been out for a good time now. Plus you can get a great deal on them and they will still have excellent resale value. I'd say go for whichever vehicle gives you the best deal :)
ohh yeah thats for sure. but thats sort of intimidating in a way cause you have to be aggressive in dealing. like some people would walk away paying a couple grand less and a few extra accessories than others.
Rims are really sharp.
like if you went into a honda dealer and paid them the full asking price that is on the window sticker. No one does that unless it is a speciality model or if the car JUST came out and there arent very many out there.
do you know when they are expecting to release the next generation accord?? i love accords
i love this generation... this looks sportier than the 2013 model
@White03T4RV82WD
I like the 2012 Camry soo far (without driving it) but only in SE V6. But ya know, there are certain things about the way Toyota packages options in the Camry lineup that pisses me off. For example, I would ONLY get the SE model since all the others are bland and ugly as shit, but you cannot get dual zone auto climate control on the SE as toyota only reserves that for XLE trims.
I love that Peanut Butter interior!
That v6 at 5:03 sounds amazing! So aggressive!
I can't help but wonder what the 2013 accord will look like. I still like these gen accords, but like you said they are getting pretty old.
Can you fo a Nissan Juke
@thecarexpert21
soo what does it do if it doesnt want to shift into second? Does it stay stuck in 1st? I've never heard of that happening before
@DRkangyo
its ok to do it for a quick test, this is a Honda afterall
Very nice
what do you mean by paying sticker? like the most basic model?
Aye I got this one
Even Dodge is getting ready to put 7 speed and 8 speed automatic transmissions in their cars. Honda needs to get with the program. Even the Full Size RAM 1500 comes with a 6-Speed Auto. and that is a truck! I think that Honda makes an excellent product, they just need to do some modernizing.
@blackseries99
meh its ok to do it for a quick demonstration, I wouldnt do it constantly until its broken in of course
I love honda , but no way would pay $32k for it
Everything else looks great! Wonder what the new 2013 accord will look like? Hopefully even better! BUT The new tail lights, ruin the car for me? Anyone agree with me? lol
Do you live in Maryland or Virginia ? ..
Um.. Do you have any idea as to why my car won't shift into second gear at all? It was working fine this morning but now it refuses to shift at all and shuts off while driving. The battery seems strong, but it literally shut of while i was driving.
How much did you pay for it from the negotiation?
@White03T4RV82WD Agreed, still, the interior is kinda flimsy but no where near as bad as the last one. Its a good car especially in SE-V6 form
@hondaftw1234 Interior is best in class now, I'm not counting Hyundai or Kia because they just got into the game, I would like to see a Hyundai in 10 years see how it's holding up, I bet the Honda and Toyota will be the ones still on the road, driving like they are out of the factory while the Hyundai/Kia is in the shop somewhere. This is going off the old Hyundai because the improved Hyundai is still yet to be determined it they are good or still the same as 5 years ago. Only time will tell.
looks good
@hondaftw1234 Maxima comes standard with a moonroof. You pay extra for the Maxima cause you get more premium features, and better quality through out the car. Kinda like saying this, would you rather buy cheap Target or Walmart clothes for cheaper, or buy the better quality brand although more expensive like American Eagle, or Hollister, or even buying a cheap cola over a real Coca Cola, most would rather spend them few extra dollars for the premium name brand.
They should just change sides,back and engine it would be great
@noriceformeplz
Sorry I disagree, Nissan wouldn't make it to my list until they stop using CVTs as their automatic transmission. I agree that its missing some key features available in other models but that doesnt make it a bad car, the korean twins are still too new to know reliability and their resale value still isnt up to Honda par. In fact, the hyundai sonata came in dead last in a comparo between the new Camry and Passat, that didn't surprise me one bit.
Honda is AMAZING!!!!
I agree completely
I wish this car came with paddle shifters
@TheDataZoo
Seriously? Why is this car soo expensive there?
i want this but in a coupe... and blue paint w/ black int
