    The snake played all possible tricks. I am amazed at how the lizard was fighting for its life.

    In the end the snake slowly disappeared into the spinifex followed by the lizard. Lizard looked fine ? We think he should have been dead by now. Tough lizard.

      I was just thinking that! Are bluetongues especially resistant to snake venom somehow? Was there something wrong with the snake or how it was biting that meant it never got much if any venom IN the Bluey? Who know really... ^^;

    Do you think the snake actually managed to envenomate the lizard? The scales/osteoderms on those skinks are quite slippery/tough

  • @lwc888
    @lwc888 Před 7 lety +2

    The lizard should try to bite the snake on the head. It's just standing there and waiting for the snake to deliver the killing bite.

    Blue tongue lizards have been known to kill snakes. This Brown have have been a bit too big. Generally it is known that if you have 'blue tongues' around your house you won't be worried with snakes.

    • @shakeAbooty88
      @shakeAbooty88 Před 6 lety +3

      "Generally it is known" translates to "an old wive's tale claims". Blue tongues are no threat to any but the smallest of snakes.

    Looks like the lizard's back was too tough for the snake's fangs to penetrate ... So the King Brown was trying to flip the lizard 🦎 over to bite it's soft Under-belly ... Didn't work

  • @peterwallace9764
    @peterwallace9764 Před 6 lety +2

    Well after two videos you could have at least chased King brown off & let the blue tongue have a bit of piece n quiet. Maybe his leathery skin saved him but he could have done with a break from the harassment.

  • @knights485
    @knights485 Před 10 lety +1

    Brown snake fangs are quite small I think that's why the snake was trying to flip the lizard because the skin is a lot softer on the belly and easier to envenomate but that's what I think, I know eastern browns will flip blue tongues.

  • @york1881

    looks like this snake plays with the skink like a cat with a mouse, without injecting venom ???

    • @ajones1825
      @ajones1825 Před 6 lety

      It injected venom but could not figure out how to kill it or stop it from moving. Notice the blood on the lizard? It was punctured quite a bit. Blue tongues apparently are immune to many snakes venom.

    • @vadaminot429
      @vadaminot429 Před 5 lety

      Brown snakes are extremely dangerous and fairly aggressive venomous snakes and blue tongue lizards are their natural prey. It is actually illegal to interfere with a snake in Australia. It would also be an excellent way of getting bitten by one and dying.
