One of the reasons why Dizziee is a legend is that at the time he blew up so many UK rappers were trying to sound American and Dizziee was unapologetically British
Brilliant
Why I like him and many of the new British rappers a lot. It’s a whole new rhymes and flows
Nahh there were plenty of uk hip hop artists that were doing this long before Dizzee was on the scene. Roots manuva was one of the first (although I appreciate he did have that slight American slant on certain things) but Dizzee came from Jungle, and there was hundreds of jungle Mc’s before dizzee
Dizzee blew up on the Grime scene. And by that era UK had long shaken off American attitude as far as musically
@@VOLRAK1 100%
Any Americans looking for similar uk artists to Dizzee, I can recommend RS aka Roll Safe
😭😭
+PhilJ34ll hahaha
I think he'll smash 5 fingers of death
+PhilJ34ll lmao!!!
I like jme
UK MCs are just on a different level
FACT! I'm glad they don't try to sound American anymore... Check out Coops as well
Fr tho
@J R6 yeah, I'm glad they don't anymore...
@J R6 Dizzee has been doing what he does here for about 25 years. There's yt vids of him back in 96 blasting over drum & bass...
💯💯💯
Ya hear how comfortable Dizzee sounds over 140bpm at the end tho
UK grime is 140bpm tho?
@@wilfred7923 yeah that's my point. The beats at the end were around 140bpm which is Grimes bpm.
Fr. He sounded more comfy on dat beat then the first 5 beats they played him. Man had space to spray on da last ting properly.
That’s Dizzees beat right there. The flow was flawless!🙌
Ffs man, why did no one check this clown... That beat was like 110, that's nowhere near 140.
I'm glad America gets to see pure British talent. He is old school and deserves credit for being a DON
but Wiley thou?
😂😂😂
Cally Too sick.. the short quick rhyming word play is madness !!!!
Yes
@@homenick93 wiley crying after dizzie and skepta done money right
Are you lot crazy Dizzee used to do this shit for 2 hours straight back in the day. Check out my pirate radio archives all that original good stuff
Most people will not be able to truly appreciate this freestyle.. he absolutely killed it
@I Lost Sumo yes that's true but the way he was able to flow on the beats was tuff
@I Lost Sumo freestyle technically means ‘free of style’ and ‘off the top’ came later. This is all about showing off your lyrical prowess over dope beats. Dope shit
@I Lost Sumo It is, in it's purest form. I literally just explained it in my last post mate. You can spit pre-writtens and it still be a freestyle, most 90s rappers did it!
@I Lost Sumo I think the only stupid person here is you. You clearly have no grasp of what I’m saying. Pre writtens can still be freestyles, jumping on different beats and riding them with different flows is what makes it a freestyle, not the content. As I say, type in any of your favourite 90s or 00s rappers and half their freestyles ended up being used in songs.
His new artist is on my channel
Problem is, they're giving him hip-hop beats, which is why his last beat worked better.
Give him Grime style beats and then you'll see how he smashes it.
That’s the point of 5 fingers of death, giving them wack beats to see how they do and what they are actually about
He smashed the trap nigga beat
True instant flow
I recognize how hard Dizzee went on these beats, he smashed every single one of them,
but I somehow still can't get over the disrespect of letting him go on these kinda whacky trap beats, even when it's the MO of the show
give him a whack grime beat, pay some respect to grime culture
He can spit on any beat
"Knock a boy inside, Knock a boy out!!" Dizzee dropped a few classics at the end
Big up lordie can always see you supporting when the mandem jump across the pond

omg love this, from what rappers can you learn lyrics to whole song from just listening. dizzee is CLASS!
Agree! True skill.
The best rappers you can hear and understand every word
Dizzee is so dope, I got to see him live at a music festival in Canada last year and it blew me away. Maybe I'm just a bassline junkie though.
Canadians always show love for UK artists
Sham?
Maybe ur just Bonkers
@@mrjules2008 get out
I've seen him a couple of times at T in the park
Love how humble he still.
Boy in da corner. Represent UK from day 1.
Dizzee is a modern day godfather in the UK music game.
I hope the Uk appreciate Rasket. He opened up alot of doors and eyes to what's gwanin across the pond. Big up from Toronto

+OPTICS Raskit is another name for dizzee.....
That's his nickname/stage name sorta thing
The four owls are better
+Prolifik Wuhn HIgh Focussssssssssssss
"There's no smoke, there's no mirrors" - LOL Dizzee was a pirate radio MC, I don't think a live freestyle is anything strange to him!
Big up to pirate radio
Embrassing lol
Raskit!!!!!!
Recycled lyrics a lot of the time
definitely not a freestyle
Dizzee smashed it as always.
I saw him live in Nottingham in a club called the Bomb, long gone now sadly. Just after Boy in Da Corner came out and blew up. Grime had been strong underground for a while, some of my Leicester peeps were putting out lovely playful mixtapes over techno and speed garage years before but Dizzee took it next level with mainstream exposure.
Dizzee was a massive Prodigy fan and also supported them on at least 1 tour, Dizzee opening for Prodigy just after Invaders Must Die album dropped was my all time best night, Moshpit was mental
RIP Keith Flint and keep reppin Dizz
The Bomb was so good, some amazing memories from there
Dizzees eyes lit up at the thought of an English beat only for the, to play that shit 😂
I hope the Americans can understand him so they can appreciate his talent
its pretty hard but I can tell he is a very good rapper
+ItzMinorr I like JME, so its not that hard, and i lay a lot of fifa and watch fifa youtubers
+I'm RevoLT cool
+ItzMinorr UGK and Trae have been putting him on since years ago. The first track they were talking about was H-Town he did with Bun B and Trae...

TL C and you said ‘bruv’ you need a slap for being a pagan
TL C I was joking don. And of course I know what colloquial is, just slightly juxtaposed with the use of bruv but don’t patronise people u fucking prick

I remember when he came out with 'I luv u' about 20 years ago, that track was straight fire.
Diz Whiley and Dee double grimefathers
Don't think Americans will ever understand how important Dizzee was in making the UK underground grime and hip hop scene mainstream since the early days of pirate radio freestyling in a basement while the police tried tracking down the signal lol. Legend.
Absolutely I agree wiv ya I loved his music from b4 boy in the corner

Yo I love how he got so studio when the UK beat was put on. He actually had to stop himself from going in and giving a studio performance on that one. Absolutely the best.
Well to be fair, that was kind of just mashup of songs that he had already written

Factsss
+Ian Carter I semi-agree.. Kano Home Sweet Home is definitely up there
+Ian Carter fuck is UK rap. *Grime.
+Chigz10 Grime and UK rap aren't the same thing...
+Ian Carter grime not rap
One of my favorites I keep coming back to this!
I like Dizzee because even though he's a grime artist, his voice is so unique compared to most uk artists
Oh for sure, his voice has something to it other than just an accent
yhyh Im British and I've lived in the uk all my life but although im not a big grime fan and I prefer US rap, dizzy rascal is on another level
His flow and delivery is the UK Eminem 👍🏻 love to see something with them together
The thing the USA don't get is that this is standard procedure for UK heads, this is how we come up, we don't have a chance to hide behind producers and studio versions, all artists spit...
Alex Rixon even basic MC's like bizzle in this situation would smash it.
Alex Rixon pure facts 💯
Facts
Standard.
Preach the ting imagine cadet or wretch popping off
breath control is on another level
I will always respect Dizzee, if only for the line "Been runnin' this thing for so long; as it happens, I'm knackered."
He’d better be good at this, it’s how he came up: spitting over tracks on radio like most UK grime artists. They could have had the studio in a kitchen in a council flat for true authenticity.
Sway probably got a rat under that hat. Pulling his hair to make him move and shit
😂

i'm glad dizzee did a 5 fingers of death, repping the UK - it's a shame they didn't actually put a UK beat on even when they asked for it ha! ... would love to see Kano do this, he would kill it! Skepta too but he's already quite well known in america so i dunno.
Dizzee is huge in America, more so than Skeppy if I'm not mistaken. He is what a lot of US rappers first heard of grime
Dizzy is reppin my country more than anybody else, on the mic he can go toe to toe with anybody
mdawsss18 Chipmunk too...
fucking chipmunk and Kano are waste. I can't believe people actually listen to that bullshit
Carlos Carlos I wouldn't say that. Them on the underground rapping is better than what they sell.
Dizzie done the UK proud. Nuff Love and love the show Sway!! Big up yourself and the team!!! Watching in Oxford England
That last freestyle how he was rhyming his bars, that was raskit.
2:35 if anyone wants to skip to the actual bit you came here for
Nic123400 you the real mvp
Thank you
Actually it's 6:21 you want
one of the sickest freestyles ever on sway!!!
Absolutely slaughtered it!!! They also gave him some of the best beats I've heard on five fingers of death
This is INSANE, thanks Dizzee for dropping those verses and Sway's taking him on!!
that was light work for dizzie
Dizzee Rascal a UK legend.
Damn that was sick..... i member the first time i went to ultra the first thing i went sprinting to was dizzie at the live stage. Such a talented dude.
Dude rips it. Much respect been listening to his artwork for a long time.
dizzee is the man, boy in da corner is one of the most important albums of hip hop. i know thats bold statements but i will argue my points with me
kyle grant I agree however it's not hip hop, it's grime
ATTACKASSASSIN grime branches off of hip hop however it branches of garage aswell
NDZ Grime music also developed from dancehall, jungle, drum and bass and more, while hip hop influenced the MC element of grime
+ATTACKASSASSIN The MC elements of grime are a mix between hip hop and Jamaican dancehall battles (look up Ninjaman vs Super Cat). If you've seen Lord of the Mics you'll understand. Everything from the insults to the crowd reactions are direct copies.
Aaron Leslie stormzy wave spotted....
Dope lyricist! Respect from Southern California!
✌ shout out from London mate x
This never gets old. Seen this about 7x now.
UK grime rap killing it in NYC ... that’s what you call lyrical stamina

If Skepta went on this, CZcams would crash. TRUST ME!
JME will always be better than Sway
+Ali Yare Skepta wouldn't be the same artist without Dizzee or Wiley, even tho he is currently the king of grime
Blatantly Blunt True, true. Just saying it would be mad seeing him on here 🔥
+Blatantly Blunt i don't think Skepta and Dizzee have any relationship tbf, wiley defo impacted skepta hugely.
Skepta is fucking trash
Keep coming back to this and realise everytime when they say “can we get some UK stuff? You gon catch it” it’s mad how Dizzee just switched up the vibe so smoothly
Love grime and uk accent, sounds so sharp, cutted and marked, technical flow.
Dizzie was high as FUCK! LOL
He's always smashed in most interviews lol. Look at him n Vlad's interview hes sitting drinkin vodka
+Craig Strachan no he isn't he's drinking voss water haha
Well I'm from Scotland.. You don't get bottled water in that shape here only Alcohol so my bad.

dizzee ;)
I'll see myself out.
We norwegians like to brand with cool bootle designs. Expensive AF tho.
UK IN THE BUILDING!!!!
This is what I love about overseas artists. They still believe in true talent Salute! Crazy 🔥
4:22 man his flow is fucking mental here, the others are good but that's it man
I feel the need to comment to clear up a few things from some of the ridiculous comments I have seen on this video...
1. Dizzee is not 'unappreciated'... as someone had commented. He is one of the more renowned figures in Grime music.
2. I wouldn't class Dizzee as relevant in the Grime scene at the moment (in my opinion). However Boy In Da Corner was, and still is, one of the most seminal Grime albums ever made, and helped to propel Grime's popularity.
3. Dizzee did not 'create' Grime with Wiley. Grime evolved from, predominantly, Garage and Jungle music. However, Wiley and Dizzee Rascal were definitely forerunners, alongside other producers and MCs like Skepta, Rapid (from Ruff Sqwad) Jammer (the artist people love to hate) and Footsie. The contributions made by Dot Rotten (now Zeph Ellis) should also not be overlooked.
4. Dizzee is primarily a Grime artist. Grime is not the same as UK Rap.
5. The production that samples Justin Timberlake is not American, it's British. It's produced by DJ Cable.
6. Kano will always be Grime's greatest MC ;)
Would you care to point me to whoever is on the cutting edge of grime currently? The classics, while important, feel dated.
Jayfire u know ur stuff man😂
Uk rap and American rap are entirely different in my opinion, but I have so much respect for both styles. I don't personally need long winded verses or complex word choice (although it truly is amazing most times I will agree). As long as you have flow, coherency, and you add some of your own swagger to the track, you've got my +1. Love and respect to all the rappers out there. Different styles and flow, but you're all spittin' under the same genre, all players on the same field
But it's not the same genre grime is NOT the same as hip hop
+Connor Gooner But not everything from the UK is Grime, a lot of it is Hip-hop or Rap so his point is still relevant
+Connor Gooner and how do you think grime came about. Grime is merely a sub genre to hip hop. It falls under it's family tree. (Fuck FT though)
+Jake Perry Nahh it's a different culture to hip hop.
+Jake Perry
grime is not hip hop...its grime.
just like drum and bass isnt hip hop, and techno isnt hip hop.
Makes me proud, one of the best ever
What an amazing skill? I don't think I got dropped memorised lines like that? Manz is spitting practically flawlessly.
"play some uk stuff" *plays JT* lol
It’s because the instrumental is 140bpm. That’s what makes it U.K
It was good tho
It’s a grime beat using the JT sample

Good to see ldn grimer come this far
He buss before UK came up with Grime, it more jungle, garage, then garage got darker n turned to grime. kind of like trap music now.
No. His first album, Boy In Da Corner is purely grime. I don't know where the fuck you got jungle & garage from...
I bet your from the US?
