When asked what it was like to play a Rush concert Neil replied it’s like running a marathon while doing advanced calculus in your head😂

Total freakin' limb independence showcased here. The slow steady beat of the kick with his right foot, the double time chk, chk, chk of the hi-hat on the left foot all while doing his gymnastics with his two arms....mind blowing that guy.

There is always a bit of the "All the World's a Stage" (1976) drum solo throughout his career. A must listen.

Neil Peart does another similar drum solo in the middle of "Where's My Thing" live from Dallas that is really worth checking out! ☮

He could make any sound that he wanted. He would go from playing one side to the other. His riser rotated.

The first kit is acoustic drums and the rear is electronic drums

Neil always wanted to perform at his best, he often spoke about this and his solos were very meticulously choreographed. This personal characteristic is one of the reasons he was so good. Every show had to be the best performance they could bring - All three felt that way. This is not the Rio DVD. I went to that tour show in Las Vegas before the Rio performance. Also, It's YYZ(ed), not XYZ. It is the ID code for Toronto International Airport and this was their home airport. Alex is a pilot and when Neil heard the morse code when they were getting close to home, he decided it might be cool in a prelude. Y, Y, Z in morse code is, dash dot dash dash, dash dot dash dash, dash dash dot dot. Listen to the intro to the the song and it will be clear.

Yes I realized I made a lot of mistakes in this video haha. Do you have any particular Rush songs or concert you'd recommend to me?

He had two kits together. One was the acoustic regular kit, the other is an electronic kit by Roland

Every single Neil Peart Drum Solo I have heard on Rush's Albums, and/or have seen on video or the 6 times I had the privilege to see Rish live, was EPIC! But this is my favorite because not only is it BADASS, but Neil really seems to be ENJOYING HIMSELF! GREATEST DRUMMER EVER!

Neil has many drum solos. Even solo in studio or with other orchestras too. Check them out.😊

He did have a few slight bobbles in this solo but played through them. Being very good is what conceals them and that's what professionals do.

Thanks for not reviewing Frankfurt, as great as it is it's way over played. Neil's solos usually came midway through the second set when he'd already been playing for about an hour and a half and were a hilight of every Rush concert. RIP professor the world lost a legend when you passed.

I've never heard XY Zed. As a life long rush fan, I'm not sure how I missed that one.
Anyway, the first set he played is a standard acoustic set, the second one is electronic

Great job reacting to something original. Refreshing.
Thank you for not reacting to Frankfurt which is the only drum solo our ignorant Rush fans ever recommends. Kudos to you yet again.

@@rimskykorsakov2892 I don’t even know or care if I ‘last’ on a channel. I would not know the difference. It’s cowards like you that whine about me speaking the truth about pretentious, know nothing Rush fans.
It’s always cute that you can’t deny what I say. You complaining? absolutely.
