- #justinsteele surely wasn’t the #chicagocubs problem is yet, another low scoring loss to the #brewers. #kap calls it a ‘flat out embarrassment’ as the offense continues to struggle and #jedhoyer and the front office twiddle their thumbs. They scored just 9 runs in a 6 game homestand in what’s become a very frustrating stretch that’s seen the pitching toss a 2.17 ERA the last 17 games, which is best in #mlb
Kap says enough is enough. While other teams have shown accountability like the #rangers and #padres, the Cubs have dug a hole so deep, it appears they’ll just be playing out the string if this continues.

I agree with everything you stated! But I want to add 1 more thing. Ian Happ in the 6th inning, hit a shot to 2nd base, and he jogged his ass down the line. The 2nd baseman fumbles the baseball! If Happ would've HUSTLED down the line , I believe he's safe! Once he realizes the 2nd baseman fumbles, now he tries to hustle!!! Happ should've been REMOVED from the game!!! That's... BULLS***!

Milwaukee lost Craig Counsell, traded away their ace, Corbin Burnes, played without their next best starter, Brandon Woodruff, and their closer, Devin Williams and they're 16 games over .500 while our Cubs sit in last place. What a pathetic team and season. I am sick of this. Get rid of Jed Hoyer and somebody fix this organization
Other teams are coming after the Cubs pitching at the trade deadline. As for their position players teams are saying no thanks you can keep them.
And it's not like we haven't been patient with Jed since he took over. We was promised wild card or playoffs this season. I feel Brewers lost much more in the offseason and still became better than the Cubs. In cases, as a GM you take blame in for this mess. David Ross never got any excuses and was canned. Jed Hoyer definitely deserves some blame for this mess of a team. And when you see his interviews and seeing he still in denial about this team, HE HAS TO GO. ITS NOT WORKING!
Pat Murphy is doing much better than Counsel and working with 105 million less payroll than the Cubs.

Craig Counsell is an awful manager. He underperformed for the Brewers every season he was there. They would have won the World Series if Counsell hadn’t so badly mismanaged the bullpen in games 6&7 in the 2019 NLCS against the Dodgers. The Brewers had an anaemic offense every year since 2020 and regular bullpen meltdowns. Sound familiar? The Cubs were swindled into taking a below average manager that the Brewers wanted to get rid of but couldn’t admit it because it would have been a pr nightmare. They didn’t want to keep him for what he had been making, then the Cubs as a division rival overbid and they cry small market. Now Brewers ownership is the victim to their fans, Counsell is at a rival screwing up their team and Brewers fans will keep the hate going for years. Another awful decision by the Cubs.

Happ got sent down to Iowa several years ago and regained his confidence came back and hit well. Why haven’t the Cubs do the same with Morel? Why not send PCA down? Why didn’t they bunt with Mastrobuoni? Right side of the infield was way back and he was trying to pull that way instead of his normal oppo approach and he struck out. Bunt down the 1B line gets another run in. It’s like Craig was afraid to bunt twice in a row. Perfect time to do it.

Brewers have basically clinched the NL pennant already, if you didn't know any better. Always a playoff team with Counsell but he was garbage still. Now we got big bad Pat Murp! The offense could be better sure, but we could also at least have a MLB quality closing pitcher... COULD, but don't and that's the biggest reason for everything. A bunch of role players with a few just nice good solid players. No studs. Nobody that will see any of them in October on FOX, at the All Star Game and in the HR Derby. I’m calling it now. Hoerner, Busch, Happ, Suzuki. What you see now is what you’ll get moving forward. Nice decent bats to play around the Harper’s, Sotos’, Judges, Bobby Witts, the Orioles young kids… Stars. Studs. Big bats. Clutch bats in clutch situations. Morel…..batting 4th. THINK ABOUT THAT PLEASE. And the scary part….im not sold entirely on the Cubs farm. I think they’re a bit over-rated tbh. I don’t see the same studs, blue chip prospects like we had in 2015. I’m sorry. I don’t see one star that is a no brainer like a Bryant. We all,knew he was special. Imagine managing the Brewers rotation from previous years to go along with Hader and Williams in the pen... doesn't get any easier for a manager.

If people could check stats and compare teams, you'd see the Cardinals and Pirates are just as bad offensively, across the board, even RISP. But the Cardinals are in playoff position...how? Their rotation isn't any better than the Cubs is it? Not only wasn’t he the difference, he was actually the reason the Brewers underperformed every year under him. They should have had 2 years in the World Series like the Royals, but Counsell overcoached the hitters into an anemic offense and had multiple bullpen meltdowns in key situations. Sound familiar? The Brewers front office after Stern left didn’t want to keep him, but needed a PR situation to keep from looking like the bad guy. The Cubs gave it to them by overpaying. The Cubs are suckers again.

KAP: Morel has no future whatsoever in MLB. He’s a .199 batter on his best and luckiest day. His fielding abilities are non-existent. Don’t believe me? Play the tapes from last season when Ross had him in the OF running around like a crazy person. And he’s a DH occasionally? Are you serious, Craig. Third base is just a limbo position on the Cubs right now with two minor leaguers platooning there. Finally, Morel has no arm strength at all.

It should. The Cubs got absolutely fleeced. The Brewers organization didn’t want to pay him what he was making, let alone give him a raise, but they knew their simple fan base would rebel because he was a hometown guy that looked like a good manager, but underperformed every year. The Brewers have had the best small market front office for many years and expected what the Royals got-a World Series, but Counsell blew that in 2019 when it should have been in the bag and then never got close again. The Cubs stepped in and paid him, the Brewers cry small market and are sympathetic to their simple fans, and Counsell is now the villain helping a division rival underpreform.
