What music is ballroom danced to? Salsa?
It's curious that ballroom is like salsa on2 but men starting with left leg, like salsa On1, but on time 2.
I was hoping for some sample with music too

I watch these dance videos at half speed the first few times, to get it down.
Hello Kristina, you are absolutely correct in your observations. Keep this video in your backburner until you know more about dancing in general. Then, only then, will it make sense. I don't watch TV dancing shows for the same reason. I cannot see what they are trying to show. Keep dancing. It's a lot of fun.
