It is a yachters paradise. We usually grab a town mooring and use the launch to head in to town. Watch this episode as we encounter some crazy currents, wind, rain and fog. There are great whites,blue,nurse,sharpnose, sharks in certain areas up there.
You are right, crap does happen and even the best Captains has an oops every once in awhile. Have fun in your favorite place and as always Enjoy the Ride.
Mishaps are a part of boating. If things are not going wrong once in awhile , you’re not spending much time on the water. The key is learning from mistakes.

It was a relaxing passage for me. It is great to see Newport again, I hope you've enjoyed your week there. There have been a few large storms in the Northeast in the past month, I hope that you've been able to avoid that weather.
I have been watching your channel for a while now, and something has been bugging me. You will never get to Nome, AK if you just cruise the Eastern seaboard and the Caribbean. Going through the Panama Canal is fun. So is the west coast.

Loved the video. When you own a boat, the exception sometimes seems to be the rule. Regarding the confused seas, yeah the current can pile up against the waves, especially with an opposing wind. There's a couple of youtube channels that just air footage of boats at Haulover Inlet in Miami or the Point Pleasant canal when they are at peak current, and it's a display of extreme seamanship (or lack thereof). Finally, we frequently encounter confused seas in Barnegat Bay due to the high number of large planing boats that don't seem to understand how much of their gas is being burned to produce an enourmous wake. They come from all directions, so confused seas are the norm on that water.
Accidents happen, life... Glad only your ego got a slap, embarrassing, yeah. Now you know Leo wants to help...😂Little early, good for Leo! I believe he should at least be able to climb into the helm seat! Thanks for laugh & the 'yeah done that'.... Fair winds...

We have visited Newport several times, unfortunately by land and not by sea; but we loved our time spent there. The restaurants has some of the best clam “Chowdah” the Mrs. and I have ever had. We hope your adventure on this trip is fun too. Just a few observations. First if you do not goof once in a while you do not have any good “tales” to tell to your grandchildren. Secondly, as you certainly know Nordhavns are great, strong, tough, seaworthy, boats …. but you cannot expect to get anywhere in a hurry.

I don’t know what race you went through but perhaps Block Island. Block Island is a fabulous stop. Plenty of moorings there for you in new Harbor. lots of nice restaurants and things for kids to do depending on the time of year. I love the block and I’m sure you would too❤

That’s a good question! As far as we know we are the only ones with the height extensions but in my opinion every 55 should have it. Feels much safer.

Is it possible to talk to you about twin engines, I am looking at N60’s and would like a single but the only N60 that has 3 staterooms and a pilot house cabin is ship faced that has twins. I would like hydraulics that come with twins, have you timed out out temp’ed out you thrusters?
Hey ya of course you can ask us anything! We have hydraulic thrusters and also a twin engine boat. I don’t recall if Ship Faced has electric or not but if it does in fact have electric I’ve heard that they are much much better than the old electric thrusters. I’d contact Fernando at Nordhavn South East because I believe that’s his listing?? It looks like a great ship. I believe it even has 4 bedrooms??

Thanks for sharing the mooring hookup and being frank about it! This helps all of us. Did you also have a sand line that you needed to follow for a stern mooring as well or was this a bow-only mooring?

In your area, Ya got Blue, sharks, Mako's, Great Whites, Threshers, Brown sharks, Etc. Mistakes happen all the time. Just keep going forward. Never anchored to a mooring bouy. Do they all have 2 lines to tie to the boat?
No they don’t normally have 2 lines!
Captain is just quietly standing there behind you. He is looking around as if he is bored. He turns & licks his mouth. I have to wonder...Does Captain get sea sick 🤢 ?
