The King is BACK!
Yep
yeee sir
yes sirrrr
Hinata is greatness!!
Yes mammmmmmmmmmm
Kageyama being a "goodie two shoes" means that he gives spikers tosses they are comfortable to hit, not tosses that exploit their full potential.
Oh, so like Oikawa and Miya are setters who can bring 120% out of every spiker. But Kageyama only tries to just get the ball to the other side, I remember Oikawa saying this in season 1 "If you just set the ball a little bit high, that Samurai guy can break through every block" don't remember the episode number though
@@SleekHeroo
> only tries to just get the ball to the other side
Not in that way, but more that Kageyama sets the ball in a way that's comfy for the spiker. However, Miya and Oikawa sets in a way that forces the other person to be better, to bring out their 120%.
Going back to what Ukai said about sets, where the best sets are the ones the spiker is most comfy with. Kageyama sets this way, but there are sets where even the spiker doesn't know could be better for them, which is how Miya and Oikawa set.
Also, sorry to necro an old af thread.
Lupa just sounds like a disappointed father to Yamaguchi, shit's hilarious đđ
Yamaguchi can no longer redeem himself to lupa

LMFAO he really said that?

Was it mangastream version? That feels like something mangastream would've wrote lmao
Hahahh
i was so mad that they didnât use that line
Hinatas emotional intelligence has always been high from the very first episode! Weirdly enough it actually doesnât feel forced or like it comes from nowhere it feels so natural for him to be it.
ikr he can be so in tune with other people's feelings.
Loving this comment so much. Not so much I read emphasise on Hinata's EQ.
That fluffy ball of sunshine is so amazing, he makes everyone feel comfortable and reach their greatest potential.
@@nia00210 A significant portion of the fandom just watches it for the cool showdown and miss out on all the amazing personalities and traits the characters have.
Kageyama's character development is so, so well-written ;-; The whole way around from throwing the crown aside to actually accepting it and making it into his strength, thanks to Hinata who helped everyone see that.
Also, an important point - Kageyama doesn't say "then make the damn point". While it certainly sounds aggressive, the phrasing is less rude in Japanese, more of "Then please score" with an aggressive touch.
I always remembered it as "then, please, make the damn point" by I guess I had a case in Bernstein bears
It might mean âThen please scoreâ when you translate it but the aggressive tone also changes what he is trying to say. The translation in the anime was harsh like that because it was to emphasize Kageyamaâs tone.
@@simplylew4598 Yeah, it works better that way imo to emphasize that the way he said it was rude and that was the problem. When he said "You're in the way" to Noya some reactors didn't understand what was the big deal when he said that, even when the way he said it in japanese did sound more rude than necessary
"You look like a postcard"
I am a postcard -lupa

That's shit got me dying đ€Łđđ
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ
I was supposed to be asleep. But I could not keep it in.
That shit is so funny LMAO đ€Ł
Kageyama was not reverting to his king ways, he was EVOLVING into a new king. Old kageyama would've said "You can't win without me so hit the damn tosses!" but instead of saying that, he said
"So please score more often!" he was saying that they could do better, and instead of always catering to their needs, kageyama is pushing them because always giving them the exact toss they want isn't going to help them improve.
I think it's a combination of both giving the exact toss that they want + unlocking their growth. However, as the coach says, the best toss requires good communication and looking into his teammates condition. The miscommunication comes when he thought that Asahi and Tanaka aren't capable to score with his toss when they are currently trying out new things to improve themselves. It reminds me of when Kageyama gets mad when Hinata wants to do the quick sets with his eyes open - triggers the old king inside him. But it's true that he's catering Tsukki tho. The scene where he got Tsukki to jump higher reminds me on how Oikawa is able to improve Kindaichi contact point (but in a nicer way lol).
Thankful for Hinata for telling Kageyama that he didn't need to be scared to be a king and demands more of his teammates but with better communication - unlocking a new king we see in the in second cour
@@Intersectingstuff That's why ushikawa wanted oikawa as his setter, because he can bring out the potentila of his teammates and make them grow, but kageyama just serves accroding to their currently level of evolving, doesnt push them ontop of it.
@@KyosisPlays yes, but oikawa has better people skills therefore better communication that allows him to unlock people potential while still making his spiker feels like they're given comfortable hits instead of being 'demanded' to meet his standard. To unlock Karasuno potential, those conversation in this eps (on how Asahi and Tanaka want to try something new, on Tsukki higher contact point) need to happen. It's so satisfying to see them all succeed in the real match though
Even generally speaking it's healthy to a point to be able to be aggressive with your colleagues. Like Hinata said, if Kageyama says stuff he doesn't care about, he doesn't listen. Sports teammates should be able to be negative towards each other every now and then, they are going through stressful experiences together after all.
Kageyama telling Asahi to âmake the damn pointâ always gives me chills. Such high expectations from the King!
Also him telling Nishinoya heâs in the way is funny đ€Ł
it's called being an asshole btw
@@mrkncd sure, if youâre a sensitive baby.
he actually shouted something along the lines of "then please score the points", since Kageyama is always very respectful towards seniors and the such. The translator might have done it that way so the frustation and expectations of Kageyama could be delivered better, a good decision from the translation team imo.
@@pwner332 nah, he was being an asshole and that is a fact!
12:12 LMAOOOO the confusion on y'all face đđ actually in this scene Kageyama talked informally to Noya (in Japan you have to respect people older than you even if it's a gap of 1 year ) that's why everybody was like "oh no he didn't just- " and noya was pissed
Not only that, but in season 1 when Nishinoya was first introduced, it was established that he _reeeeaaally_ likes the idea of being referred to as âsenpaiâ by his kouhai, as he became flustered and happy when Hinata first called him that.
Nishinoya only wants the respect he deserves, nothing more nothing less.
7:47 OMG the way Yamaguchi was hissing at Kogane for saying 'Tsukki'đđ I never noticed that before but my man was jealous like "I'm the only one who gets to call him that"
5:38 Daichi's position on hanging onto the window ledge never fails to make me laugh đ
I love this moment because both the audience and Kageyama believes he's regressing when Hinata has been saying "middle school doesn't matter" and been communicating with king Kageyama since season 1. Kageyama pushes Hinata to be better because he's so demanding, they even spell it out for us at the beginning of season 4. Kageyama has always been his kingly self (rude, demanding, yelling, bossy) around Hinata and Hinata has always just yelled back. Even though Kageyama is himself Hinata never once abandoned him, they fight all the time but it was never a big deal at all. The answer to how to navigate the team's relationship has always been there it's just that neither Kageyama nor the audience really thought about it until now. This hits even deeper after you finish the series omg someone hold me T__T, look forward to it anime watchers.
i finished the manga and watching the anime makes me feel emotional of how much theyâve improved skill wise and mindset wiseđđ
"Miya said it to be nice."

@@somedudewatchintv5297 It's mostly because the level of competition has increased, and yamaguchi is a one trick poney, what's more he also has a rival who is evolving faster than him, which makes sense and is realistic, you aint gunna be able to be nice evry, single time, you will mess up and feel pressure from others, especially at nationals.

I'm sure someone's already mentioned it, but the animation quality of season 4 (especially the second half) suffered because of covid. That's partially why the bumpers are simple bird animations.
honestly, the ones they used in past seasons were kinda insane animation-wise for just something they put for ad-breaks, even if covid was not involved, I could understand them wanting to make something more simple to focus man-power on more important things.
People take it for granted but season 1 and season 2 and SPECIALLY season 3 were almost miracles with their production quality, a lot of things had to align (good director, good staff in general, schedule, etc). Volleyball is really hard to animate and they didn't just succeed, they fucking nailed it.
@@LixienXIII on top of that they would have to reanimate them with the shorter production time to match the new art style. It was probably due to that
@@slj1537 they would had to start from scratch, they always made new ones for the past seasons, so yeah.
Wait but COVID became serious around December- January 2019-2020 when did season 4 come out cause the time they were animating it I donât think COVID was around
@@ChialukaGold It doesnt really matter. Like I said on my above comment, past season set the expectations too high because they were really really good. Season 4 quality is what I would expect at first if they told me today that they were going to animate Haikyuu! COVID involved or not.
"To yamaguchi, Play Golf instead.."
The editor is a legend !
Shira's actually spot on with kageyama's mindset. Kageyama goes through hell to get under bad passes all for the sake of giving his teammates the perfect set, so when they don't try their hardest to also score the point, it's frustrating. He's still a dick who needs to fix his attitude, but its understandable.
It's not that they weren't trying their hardest. Kagyama and Hinata aren't the only ones who were improving. Tanaka and Asahi were trying different things because it was a practice match. Kageyama didn't see that or he ignored it. The coach says that he needs to know what his teammates are doing as well as their conditions to be able to get those points.
I'll never get over Hinata's stance when they show the starting team setups. He just gives off major "hand over your toes" energy.
7:26, Lupa will not let go of this bumper thing. Gets me every time. But that postcard bit literally made me cry my stomach hurts
Nishinoyas âSHOYOOOOâ will always make me die of cuteness đđ
Really like that Episode... Kageyama cant control the way he talks, but they can control how to receive/understand it... such growth on the team..
Single greatest comedic moment yâall ever made: âOver here lookinâ like a postcard.â âą_âąâ â...I am a postcard.â I laughed so damn hard. 14:20
This shit happened cause of Mia Atsumu cause when he set, Kageyama was able to get through good blockers and when Kageyama got blocked by good blockers, he starts to question himself that if he's better than Mia or not... My theory đ
nah i think kageyama was actually influenced by miya's "if you don't get a point u suck, my set was good so it's not my fault" attitude. and the "goody-two-shoes" comment. he didn't really doubt himself because he straight up demanded them to get a point which he was scared of doing before
Man I donât care what nobody says yâall are the best reaction channel out here, yâall keep me dying every time đ
This channel is Peak reaction

HAHAHAHAHA when his phone gone off I was thinking "mmmm I don't remember that sound on that episode" because it got more or less the same volume as the chapter video. You cannot have a break in this channel hahaha either the editor or them but it's always someone who's gonna get you off guard hahahahaha
Main reason kageyama was able to call out nishinoya there was during the all japan training camp one of the super good liberos did the same move that nishinoya did, but moved out of the way immediately for the back row attack knowing he was blocking, and kageyama picked it up immediately that the libero moved for that. So he noticed in the same scenario nishinoya didn't move so he called him out. Of course it was aggressive but that was right when he was becoming king again
20:51 why isn't anyone talking about the Doppio ringtone edit.
Editor San deserves a raise.

Been waiting for your reaction to this episode. The "return of the king" episode was one of the best episodes for character development. If Kageyama would've been on any other team, things would've ended up differently. Fortunately, he's got that little ball of sunshine HINATA to help make things better.

In japan thereâs two forms of speech: formal and informal. When you speak to someone older than you, you typically speak formally. Kageyama telling Noya to move was pretty informal and seen as rude (almost like telling someone to fuck off). He typically almost always uses formal speech when talking to people older than him so people found it off-putting that he would be so direct.

Also, when she's wrong... *ignore* I didn't hear anything, let's just keep going. Sheera is right a few moments later, pause reaction; "See, I told you! Straight up right goddess!"
Anyone? Just me? I can live with that.
I love the Editor's transitions between episodes man. I could watch them all day.
The King is becoming an enlightened monarch. I consider Kageyama as the best combination of Oikawa's style and Miya's style, almost a golden mean of sorts. I admit, though, when I first watched these episodes, I wanted to throttle him for yelling at Asahi that way.
Eh but it was needed and it happens between players, this is more realistic, not everyone gets along 100% and everyone clashes heads and says stuff in ways they didnt mean or shouldnt have. But hey I walys say conflict is needed in order to help people grow and think more.
@@KyosisPlays I agree with you. I was only stating how I felt at the time I watched it for the first time. I played volleyball and clashed with my setter (who was middle school Kageyama without the talent) every game. Some conflict is good, and in the case of Karasuno, it was good for them to discuss these things. In my case, it was my setter berating me then simpering to the coaches when I talked back.
@@kunterborn1 Ahhh fair enough. Ngl, volleyball girls can scrap, remember one girl decked the setter because she was mouthing of to her, who knows maybe that conflict was needed in your case đ đ€·ââïž

The king kageyama waiting for this
The two episode anime reaction is the viewers type of content who agrees
Yo, there are extra scenes at the end of the Movie 3 and 4, showing the perspective of the opposing teams. You guys should react to that too!
" im gonna be setting to you one day " waiting on that moment đ„đ„
This episode to me is the real turning point in the team. Admittedly, Kageyama has been held back by Karasuno because he has to accommodate their weaknesses, but the great thing about the King, is that he forces everyone to his level, and when he was in middle school, the King merely killed his teammates cause they couldn't live up to that standard. Obviously they were just middle schoolers, but now that he's on a team that's at the national level, they should be able to go up to his level. That is the Kings greatest strength, is raising the teams standard. Sorta similar to Hinata and how he just energizes the team with his love of the sport. The way he's in love with volleyball just spreads, and the way he can be excited about small things really helps the team cool down and remember that they're there to really enjoy volleyball, not just always win. The King is meant to pull out the best of his teammates, that is why it's not bad for Kageyama to be the King on Karasuno, because they can raise up to his level.
Dude this moment was so perfectly for shadowed and executed. Gave me chills
Moment being cranky wing kageama
The goody too shoes means that Kageyama gives in to others bad habits. Like setting the ball for Tsuki below the apex of his jump (when Hinata said that the setter from Date set the ball higher)
the jump jump .. I just can't get over it hahahaha
another double release? Loving this
LMFAO to postcard lupa đ
Many people didnt realize the importance of that for Kageyama and the hole team development. A setter who gives everyone their "confort zone" pass its not a very good setter. Its setter's job to improve the spikers hits and to propose new angles for attacks that suit better it situation. Atsumu Miya and Oikawa are that setter. When Kageyama masterize that, he is gonna be unstoppable and a key player that any team will want. It is good to be a little more bossy and "king" in this aspect, it is hard on the team players, but necessary for the professional level they are looking for. King of the Court, it will be wild!
I act so surprised but I already watched all the episodes
Iâm so exicted when you see the episodes from the nationals đ€© its gona be amazingđȘđŒ
