Drummer is playing backwards....what a talent. Lol😮
Yup! That is one awesome band! Felix Lehrman, the drummer, is a very experienced session drummer - as you can tell! Great performances by all!
Wow! That took me right back to 72. It’s not easy to sing Highway Star but he did it! Loved Deep Purple.
Yes, Martin and his band really are a Killer Machine! The are hitting all the iconic waypoints but up the things with modern licks and flavor. Martins´ voice really has developed over time.
Thanks, Jeff. Great covers. Killer lead vocal.
Hey thanks for doing this Jeff! Glad you enjoyed it! His band is all session players and all top notch. He has so many phenomenal guests players in his videos. I'll be sending another shortly lol! (Paul Is Good 🤣)
This is the first group you have reviewed doing classics that to me had the same feeling of power - controlled, contained albeit but, wanting to be unleashed to wreck havoc on our senses and sensibilities as does Leonid and Friends.
The organist was amazing and the singers stellar and "in character" - apropos their roles and the tenor of the song.
That, perhaps - that being able to affect the effect of the original performers energy and closely parallel the tone, timbre, sound of the original singers and instruments to the point you start to ask your self, "Is this live or memorex?" is the "special sauce" that makes this and what Leonid and Friends do so special.
Re tape with fidelity. Ever seen this? Great ad.

@@StrateleStudiosNo matter how many times I see it, it STILL makes me laugh! The ad guy who thought it up was arguably a genius. My wonderful friend, Deb, who was one of the highest powered real estate ladies ever - once said I should have gone into advertising - which, of course with my fluid mind and command of imagery - I could have - but, I felt that that would mean I would have to say nice things in ads about products that weren't worthy of people spending hard-earned money on - so - I didn't.
I also, almost became a lawyer too - got oh so precious close, Jeff, but then, the devil showed up and was insisting I sign his contract so, I decided to bail! LOL
I've watched a lot of Martin Miller, but this was not quite their Best. But an Awesome group. I.M.O. Jeff All The Best!! Everyone Subscribe and Like IT'S FREE
The solo is mostly faithful to the original Ritchie Blackmore's solo, but there was a slight variation, as was the organ solo in the beginning. Not sure if Steve ever did like that or not.
Steve is no longer with the band, sadly, but they found a very talented Simon Mcbride to fill in his shoes.
You can't go wrong with Martin Miller. The guy is such a gifted musician!! I love their stuff!!
