- This project is part of a three-part educational series in collaboration with Shaper and their initiative to support high school shop teachers and bring woodworking back to the classroom. Shaper makes the Origin, a handheld CNC router that allows for the precision of digital fabrication while maintaining the tactile and intuitive experience of traditional woodworking techniques. Origin has an on-tool computer system that allows it to make real-time adjustments to your movements-ensuring you get clean, accurate results every time.

I agree with hand tools and machine....,machining can only get you so far simply because its locked into certain parameters,
hand tools are far more flexible and add something that they absolute best machining in the world can't when in the hands of a truly great woodworker....something no cnc machine could ever recreate....you can always tell the difference imo
Wishbone chair is made from only cnc machines (and then sanding the rough parts).
But the cnc machines are also extremely expensive (costs more than a house)
Simply stunning! 🙌🙌
Thank you :)
Instant Home Makeover season 2 please, dude!
I'm going to make a dog-hole table for my workstation immediately after seeing this. I struggle with working on panels: setting up a coplaner tape board, everytime, etc, especially in a small shop where I don't keep (or can afford) a lot of "extra" material around (milled to the same thickness as my workpiece). Wish I would have seen this sooner to make that lightbulb go off. Thanks.
Fantastic video - you are great teacher.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Another cool video on the Shaper Origin. At the 1:32 minute mark the bench you are working on…. is that made out of I-joists?
I have a Shaper Origin coming. Do you find a windows based computer or an Apple based computer a better fit for working with the Shaper Origin? Any suggestion you may have would be appreciated.
Is there any video about your extended shaper workstation? If not, would you mind showing your extension in detail in another video?
Nice shirt
Great video. What is a good design software to use and create furniture to cut with the origin? Thanks
In Argentina doesn't exist the shaper origin...bad
So you show us how yo make a super simple project, but usingnsuper expensive and fancy equipment? Huh?
