I think part of the reason I love this musical is simply because you can tell they’re all just having the time of their lives every time they perform it!
Yes and Rachel can rock out here, which she can’t in the show.
The cast looks like a bunch of mom and dads decided to go to broadway and I fucking love it.
That “turn on your radio” gives me CHILLS
That always brings back the memory of my manager at time coming back into our department at work to tell me the same while all the crazy news of that day was unfolding.
My daughter was 8 months old. We went to a meeting together about a new position I was going to have at my job when it all happened. I remember driving is home, with Imus on the radio and thinking that he was replaying audio from when the towers were bombed in 1993. It was only when I got into my house and turned on the tv that I realized what happened. I put my kid in her room and sat and absorbed what was on CNN and couldn’t parse how such evil could occur in a world that had her in it. When I finally saw the show in Boston last year, I wept for that memory as well as the world that she grew up in. This show is a gift.
We need to protect Rachel Tucker at all costs. She is unreal.
Also, how cute were the guys that were crying in the end...
It’s just been announced she’ll be joining the Broadway cast in March (I think) - she’ll smash it
6:44 just shows how much of an inspiration this song is for girls and women everywhere who have to deal with "That's a man's job" or "You're just a girl, what can you do?"
i love it
Aw I only just noticed the guy signing at the side of the stage! How beautiful that they’ve made it so accessible!
I'm an Islander, I am an Islander! 🎵
I went to see this and Rachel Tucker’s understudy was on that night. I just wanna give her a shoutout because she is so good
Rachel is just incredible. I could listen to her sing Me & The Sky and The Wizard & I on a loop forever.
Her expression when she finishes the line "The one thing I loved more than anything was used as the bomb" is perfect. You can just feel Beverley's whole high-flying, fast-paced life as an airline captain come to a screeching halt and feel her dying a little bit inside.
How alike are they musically though?? I dared her to sing the Wizard and I instead of Me and the Sky at the end of it if they do a muck-up matinee when she leaves!
As a Canadian I am humbled and teary-eyed at seeing those young people singing along.
This performance was everything - the whole crowd was crazy dancing at the beginning, yet at the end of Me and the Sky it was absolutely silent - magical!
I just really want a come from away performance IN Gander. That way I'd only have to drive an hour 😂😂
@Sivan Yi they did a sort of mini show in St. John's (just the songs and no dialogue) but they haven't done any actual performances in Newfoundland as far as I can tell. It's a shame though! I know people who were depicted in the play and haven't even gotten the chance to see it yet!
Ally Murphy the Broadway cast did a pair of shoes similar to what you saw in St Johns, in Gander before going to New York
I love this show and UK Cast, Rachel is my favourite! She's so incredible!
Can we just appreciate the guy doing sign language at the side during Me and The Sky ? Like , that song has tons of lyrics and he’s just determined to keep up ! Like wow !
I was not there at this performance and I just watched it here on CZcams. I’m sure that the gentleman signing on the side of the stage was signing the entire performance and they just happened to film him signing just that one particular spot.
"That morning I'm in my cairrr"
Seriously though I love this musical so much!
it’s really full circle... my first ever west end show i saw rachel tucker in wicked and now probably my last west end show before i move to the US is gonna be come from away :’)
Tucker,Fearn and Bentley’s Angel Forever Ok, calm down, the US isn’t that bad.
TheThirdVersion OfAlex that’s not what they’re saying? They’re just saying that they won’t be able to see West end shows because they live in the US
And now Rachel is performing in Come From Away on broadway
The catchiest song in current Musical Theatre hands down! LOVE this musical!
I love the guy who plays Claude in this. His energy and enthusiasm for this show is evident in his performance and his smile as he delivers the opening monologue.
Saw this show in Toronto a couple of days ago and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had watching musical theatre 😍
And “Well they can get their own drinks” always gets me as a proud moment
I saw Racheal in wicked when she came to Broadway. And omg she is AMAZING like her vocals are unreal in person.
As someone who was raised in Newfoundland it’s super cool to see Come From Away make it’s way to the West End
it's coming to Australia next year :D I'm so excited it's coming to my city.
I love this musical and I was literally crying during me and the sky
To the creators of this beautiful musical,
Thank you! Truly this musical has made so many people very happy. Thank you for sharing the beautiful story of the town of Gander! We hope to visit Gander one day!
Sincerely,
The World
I’m obsessed with Rachel, she is so incredibly talented x
I just saw this musical in London and it's simply magical 💙💛
I saw this show last year on broadway and wow this cast gives me just as many chills as the original cast did. I love this show because it seems literally everyone involved is so dedicated
This musical makes me proud to be Canadian 🇨🇦
My sister’s seeing this in February and I’m so jealous!!!!
A freind was a stewardess who got sent on to gander 10 mins after the second plane went in and the story she told me combined with this musical always makes me cry
I love this show! Honestly it's just a work of art from start to finish - everyone is constantly changing characters but you can always tell who they're meant to be without any major costume changes just from their sheer talent
Why does it make me feel so emotional that countries others than the US have the same nostalgic trauma listening to this?
I have only seen this on CZcams videos and you are correct about how it has an emotional impact around the world. Even watching something for example like the Korean version even though I don’t understand a word of Korean shows just how much this story affected the entire world. I honestly cannot tell you how many different languages I have seen parts of this musical in and all of them have been brilliant.
i dont think ill ever get bored of this musical
I haven't after 10 times. I've seen every version of the production.
I don’t think anyone in the world could ever see this show as many times as the real life Captain Beverly Bass and her husband Tom saw the opening performance of this show around the world.
i saw come from away in october of 2019 and i STILL want to sob every time i hear them... it was so incredible🥺🥺
Saw this show when it was in Dublin pre West End. Then also saw it on Broadway. It is Such a good show!
Every time I watch this I cry my eyes out
this whole cast is amazing but rachel tucker is something else omg
I am looking forward to finally seeing this amazing musical in Toronto!
One of my favorite musicals and Rachel Tucker! Seeing it after quarantine
ME AND THE SKY. THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY. I LOVE IT
Awww I love all shows on the west end....but omg come from away did sooo good!
incredible performance can't wait to go see all of come from away
wish I was there with you all today, will be there tomorrow
I saw this musical live in my city it was one of the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen about 20
i love this show,it really is so moving.........
I wish we could have a west end cast recording
So so so underrated
Really want to see this show!!
It's so good!
You really should! The story is amazing, the music is absolutely great! And the cast is just sublime
I saw this is in the first week of opening in the Phoenix. Came to London from the NL to see it. And Holy fuck, best musical I've ever seen
Love this show so much!
It’s been 20 years since 9/11 💓💓👼🏻👼🏻
Not Rachel Tucker adding in a few subtle body rolls, she's legendary!
I haven’t seen this musical yet- does the same cast play both the Newfoundland characters and the American characters?
Yeah they do
Beth Hamilton a 12 personish cast and they all play at least one other character . if you’ve seen it now did you enjoy it?!
"and the thing i loved the most is the bomb" oof...
Seen the show in Ottawa last August.
Rachel ❤️
Grinning at how much more Irish this cast sounds 😉
4:12 starts Me and the Sky!
Does anyone know if fans can purchase the t shirts they are wearing and if so where from? I have seen the official ones but they are different from these and I like these more. I have seen similar on Redbubble but are they these?
I'm very late ik but ik pretty sure they have them on the website now but not 100% sure Haha xx
It’s a shame they couldn’t fix their microphones
It's difficult for events like this. They probably didn't have a proper sound check, as is standard. The sound crew is trying their best!
It was fine in person. I was there. And on my videos from my camera the Audio is fine so I really don’t get why the audio on the pro shots are so awful
@@harri6399 It's because the live mix is separate from the video feed
Most likely what happened was that whoever shot this video did not plug into the soundboard. I’m not sure if I can explain it correctly but if you don’t plug your audio line into the soundboard it will come out sounding awful.
Nothing sounds more troublesome to Irish ears than a Newfie accent.
When there’s Irish people in the cast 🤣
The Newfoudland accent is original and a combination of Irish and English and it's the best in the world,
Is that a sign interpreter just off the stage?
rafinmd thats the conductor
Rafinmd it will be the sign language interpreter. Not sure when it started but they have interpreters there every year now
I’m those girls in the front who r all just singing it
I loved those girls in the front row of the audience singing along to the song Me And The Sky too. I also like to think that perhaps some of them are thinking that perhaps when they get older they might become pilots themselves.
@6:43 isn't that Lucy Moss, writer/director of Six the Musical??
Carmela Bodino 😂😂😂😂 noooo
no lmaoooo
listen to welcome from the rock without stomping along i dare you
Um. These folks sound Irish, do they not hire dialect coaches in the UK?
The Newfoundland accent is different as it is a combinationof Irish and English. Nothing like it in the world.
The racial diversity is amazing in this show
ok accent !!
It sounds like their mocking our accents ahhaha
Half the cast is Irish and the musical is set in Canadian territory not Ireland. Its connected to the September 11 attacks and planes which were grounded in Newfoundlands when US airspace closed.
Yeah but rachel is irish
