    He was so close. You can see his left arm just let him down. Also, comparing the length of the two logs, do you think that a longer log like that would make it more or less stable/balanced? I'm thinking a shorter log would help concentrate that weight over your centre of gravity, making it easier.

      The weight being more centralized would make it actually harder. Think about benching, squatting, deadlifting, or curling with calibrated plates vs bumper plates

      The handles are at same distance so the difference is minimal on balancing. And since there is no whip on the bar like a deadlift bar it probably makes unnoticeable difference
