  • On the auspicious day of Lhabab Düchen, we were honored to have Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche speak on cultivating the mind of a bodhisattva.
During this teaching, Mingyur Rinpoche walked us through the sūtra, The Sūtra on Wisdom at the Hour of Death, read.84000.co/translation/toh..., in which the bodhisattva Ākāśagarbha asks the Buddha how a bodhisattva should view the mind at the point of dying. The Buddha replies that when death comes a bodhisattva should develop the wisdom at the hour of death. He explains that a bodhisattva should cultivate a clear understanding of the nonexistence of entities, great compassion, nonapprehension, nonattachment, and a clear understanding that, since wisdom is the realization of one’s own mind, the Buddha should not be sought elsewhere.

Please omit and translate “dark hour” and “dark age”.. try ignorant age, confused age, suffering age”. Just not dark. Dark is beautiful, dark is natural. Consider please.

Although my response is into the concepts of things. I would love to hear about what you mean by dark being natural. If I were to use a concept to describe our nature it would be more like Light. Luminous. The Dark hour or Dark age would refer to ignorance. I just started this video but .. what is the feeling you have towards the word dark hour and how does it differ from suffering or confused age. 🙏🏻 I’m not saying you are wrong at all (and only reason I mention that disclaimer is because I don’t have knowledge on your path and practice) …but I felt the desire to respond to you as you are a spiritual friend. Maybe it is a benefit to us both to dialogue on this a little.

@@Konchog_Ngodrup mm.. try this?.. "If I were to use a concept to describe our nature it would be more like Dark. Infinitely Absorbing.." I mean I don't believe this comment I am just trying to illustrate the logic of a subjective view. Why not just say Age of Ignorance?

@@Kris-ib8sn Why is dark a synonym for ignorance and suffering. Without darkness we would never know light and it would be hard to sleep.
