Thank you for being so transparent regarding the brand dear! One note on the artwork: as a small indie author, I can tell you what a disaster it is to work with graphic designers. I think I am one of the nicest, most tolerant and patient person's ever out there, but I can tell you, on an important project of mine, I am already on my 4th graphic designer as many of them sadly dont get it, that they will be paid if they will bring MY vision to life, not what they think looks nice. The issue is complex as we are talking about humans with preferences, same time... one wants to get what one's paying for. So I can easily imagine if somebody says "f this" and just want to use AI to get the job done. Me personally, I am thinking it will just be easier to take an expensive photoshop course and just do it myself. Its sad. And I respect the people... same time this is soooo futile and so hard sometimes that I am really struggling with the nerves.

I appreciate you addressing this "talk" the way you did! You gave us the facts and sources to DO OUR OWN RESEARCH AND MAKE OUR OWN CHOICES! I feel this way about all aspects in life! Before we make a comment or give our opinions, we should not just regurgitate what we hear. We should look into it ourselves by looking at reliable sources. Not by listening to what others say on social media! Anyway, you are a doll! I am waiting on my 1st purchase from the brand, "Cold moon"! And I can't wait! I did get antsy about not receiving a shipping notification yet (I ordered as soon as it launched) and the brand emailed back within 24 hours and explained the shipping situation. After a lot of Creators/Beauty consumers supported Lunar Beauty who supports James Charles, and I saw really no outrage , I just do not care what outrages the masses anymore.
I actually like the Ensley Reign art and I am going to continue to buy from the brand.
I completely understand. I personally decluttered all my Lunar Beauty for that reason.
I enjoy ER and will continue to purchase If I really like the color story. There are only a couple of brands that I will purchase the palette if it doesn't have a mirror.
😂 unpopular opinion but I love that they don’t have mirrors in all of their palettes. I move a lot and the mirrors in every palette makes me nervous.
I do wish they’d hire an artist at the prices they charge but completely agree that this all feels like a witch hunt for which brand/creator to cancel this week.
When it comes down to it, their aesthetic is gorgeous and their quality is worth the money. I will definitely continue to purchase from them. I missed this launch and had to get the preorder, can’t wait to get that palette in my hands!!
Normally I hear people don't care about having mirrors in palettes. I always felt like the odd ball asking for mirrors 😆

Something I really hated about this situation is them liking so many comments downplaying the situation or comments telling people to just unfollow. This just makes me feel like they don't take it seriously. Another thing is that they ARE per defenition private labeled, they mixed up the definition. There is a difference between white label (buying premade products and reselling) and private label (selling a product that is made exclusively for your brand from a manufactuer, which is totally okay as many brands do that). I appreciate it so much that you actually talk about the issues and I'm sure that it has to be uncomfortable for you. Thank you for your honesty always! You do it in such a respectful way.
Of course. I appreciate you expressing your concerns and explaining this. I honestly didn't know the difference between White labeling and private labeling.
I just recently purchased and ensley reign pallet and it is easily the best in my collection. The special shades are SPECIAL and the mattes are great. Totally worth the investment, my pallet is special and unlike the others.
For people complaining about the price remember, the quality is there and if you don’t like the art work that’s fully your opinion.
The AI debate is bigger than just the beauty community and is a very new art form. I think it is interesting that one person forms a negative opinion and so many people follow suit with outdoing their own research and deciding for themselves.

My thoughts on their price point versus the artwork situation. They’ve already established the markup that they want to receive for their products. It is a brand that determines what they think they deserve as a profit margin. If you don’t want to give them that profit margin, then you (people) shouldn’t buy their products. Asking them to add more cost but make less money is not correct. That’s like your boss asking you to take on a completely separate set of job responsibilities and not compensate you for it.

They need to come out with a "Midnight Moon" with muted, grungy gray leaning blues, greens and blue based purple mattes amd whatever stunning shimmers they want to throw in.

I understand that people get upset about the Ai art, but it's clear to me that the people who criticize the affilate payment isn't actual creators. Like most indie brands doesn't even pay store credit or money at all to their so called affilates. Great video per usual my friend and I can't wait to recive my Cold Moon palette 🥰

I don’t get why people have to find “drama” in makeup. As long as it’s not full of toxic stuff that can harm the people who use it, I don’t need all of this other stuff. Yes, don’t over charge for things you didn’t do. My simple solution is, I don’t buy things that I think cost too much. I don’t care about packaging and art work. None of that is going on my eyes and that’s what I buy makeup for. A mirror is great, all that other stuff, I don’t need. Just my two cents…

I'm so glad you did a video on this palette. I just couldn't decide whether or not to purchase bc of all the controversy surrounding the brand. I did purchase ultimately as a pre-order, but i still almost feel shamed for buying it bc of the AI issue. I did see on Instagram that they were super respectful even while ppl were rudely attacking them.
Don't let the drama surrounding the brand ruin your experience with the palette when you get it. That has happened to me so many times. I will buy a palette and then the brand gets canceled 🙈 I try to look at it as I spent my hard earned money on the palette, and I'm going to enjoy every second and every look lol. I have also seen the brand being extremely respectful in comments when others were not returning the favor. She has always gone out of her way to show her appreciation when I support her brand. Appreciate you addressing this Brittany. Nothing I respect more than honesty. ❤❤ You know I always appreciate your truth. And I do agree. Definitely feel conflicted as I love the brand as well and didn't understand enough about the AI situation as well but definitely at this point they have enough flow and the palettes are expensive enough where they could cover the costs of an artist. While I do love the Ai art, it's so pretty, I also see the need to ditch it at this point.
Also another thing that irks me is, not you obvs 😘since you're speaking on it in this video, is that when people have a platform and refuse to at least acknowledge the "controversies" of a brand (not just Ensley Reign but other brands in the past: the adept mystery box debacle, it's kinda sus to me. Sorry I see to many larger influencers that completely ignore or glaze over issues and I know they're aware just as much as we are and they see it in the comments. Makes me not trust their opinion when it comes to transparency. We can love a brand like Ensley or Adept and acknowledge flaws and hope for change. I don't have a platform like you to speak on it like this Brittany, so i appreciate you speaking on it. I know it's not always easy

I really appreciate your feedback. 🥲 I respect your opinions so much. When Adept did a terrible mystery box, that showed me that you cannot ride for a brand and act oblivious on what is going on. The larger creators staying silent showed me I have to speak up even if it makes me uncomfortable. It is important to share with everyone what is going on. I'm conflicted as well when it comes to ER. That is why I wanted to be transparent with my viewers who many not even know about what is going on. I didn't want them to buy blindly. I wanted to share the facts, then everyone can buy or not buy bc it is their choice.

I am not a big indie brand fan but wanted this palette. I Can’t justify the price at all. After learning they don’t even create their own artwork makes my justification even more solid not to purchase. The colors are beautiful but I did get huda grunge and love these colors just as well without spending nearly 100 dollars. Colourpop has good affordable products too. Appreciate you being real on this but I saw this ridiculous price before you even mentioned it. It’s just makeup and the normal person have more important bills to pay to survive-speaking for myself and others. I enjoyed your look as always. Thanks for sharing.

The pricing is actually good for how many duo/multichromes you get. Danessa Myricks has 12 pan for $125, no Mattes, and it's made in China. People seem to buy that with no issue. I'd rather pay for quality than a name, personally. 😊 I've used my Ensley palettes several times now and I always reach for them over my pricy singles collection or my Danessa Myricks.

I just hope that they can hire a real artist them being an indie brand should understand how competitive and hard to have a small business. I’ve been so sick all last week trying to get better my boyfriend and i had to sleep in separate rooms for a couple nights but we are both getting better. Hi! This is the first video I've watched from your channel, and I have to say I am impressed. I feel like you gave the information you had whether positive or negative about the brand and I really do appreciate that! I get frustrated by some creators in the beauty space who have more subscribers and they skirt around an issue, if they even mention it at all! I want to know the facts so I can make an informed decision as to whether or not I want to buy from a brand that's having some issues - be it on social media or whatever. Also, great job on showcasing the holochrome shadows in this palette! I had no idea that they were so dimensional and sparkly! I also agree with you when you say that if a palette is going to be that expensive, it needs to have a mirror (and it should be a good one, not a cheap one)! I ordered this pallete on the launch day (literally during 5 mins after the start), and they still didn't send it to me. This will be my first pallette from the brand and I'm already a bit frustrated with the shipping service. I did see that the processing time is 15-20 business days, but I can't understand how packing and sending can take a month. For the shipping price, like 30 dollars!

I ordered launch day too and haven't gotten a shipping notice yet either. It did say 15-20 days for processing so it hasn't hit that yet but it is mind boggling why it takes so dang long. Not a great business model IMO.
@meganweber9791 yeah, 15 days it's a time when I can receive my Kaleidos order with free shipping, and here it's packing only, so count 1-2 weeks for the shipping itself. And we will get our winter pallette at the end of Jan.
And about the business model... They know that they have troubles during busy time like launches or holidays. Why make the launch in the middle of the holiday season? To double that troubles? 😅

OMG! It's soooo gorgeous!!! Love the look you created!! I still havent gotten a shipping notification and everyone is receiving theirs. 😢 i have emailed the brand twice but no real answer. Just that they have 15- 20 business days to send out. My guess is that they send to you tube influencers and bigger IG accounts first. I ordered my Unearthly palette a week after this one and it comes in today so I dont understand whats going on. Other than that I love the brand and love to promote them on my IG page and really want to pick up Lands of Enchantment!
Hey girl hey! I've ordered a lot from Ensley Reign throughout last year and sometimes I get it in the first round of deliveries early but usually I'm dead last 😂😂but not just with Ensley regardless of the brand I always seem to get my palettes 1000 years after everyone. Hope you get your shipping notice soon
I've noticed that many brands definitely appear to have separate shipping protocols for influencers. I wouldn't mind if that was stated, but they try & trick influencers into thinking they've had a typical customer experience, but they haven't. There's nothing more frustrating than being ready to join in when a new palette comes out, but then watching everyone else get it & wondering if they even processed your order right. Ipsy is notorious ofc, but I still get panicky when I see my order is 2 weeks behind an influencer's, even for old product lol.

I want to buy one of their newer palettes so bad because they look soooo pretty but I’m sooo nervous to buy from them again because I bought the original harvest moon palette a while ago and I had a few shades that were rock hard when I received it, it was soo weird so I emailed customer service and they never replied to me I paid $like $96 for that palette including shipping.
I'm so sorry that happened to you😭 I would be the same way! That sucks so bad! Idk if you have IG, but if I can't get a response from customer service, I normally have better luck sending a dm lol. I'm impatient 😆
Whenever I buy from indie brands, I always spend a couple dollars on the shipping insurance. I've had some shades arrive broken from other brands and my money was refunded. I had the option for a new palette, but I fixed the shadows myself and opted for a refund.

I get the frustration behind the AI.. I do... But what I don't get is the need to target and "cancel" a person or brand every other week. I did a 45 minute Google search and found 164 companies in the US that use AI for their logos, ads, and/or products. 159 of them are larger and make way more money than Ensley Reign. So if this is truly something people feel like they have the moral high ground on and want to call brands out.... what about the companies bringing in more money but not paying an artist? I'm all for doing what's right, just tired of Salem-witch-trial behavior. It just feels like a another attack on yet another brand to keep along with the 2022-2023 behaviors. Just my opinion though.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I completely understand what you mean. I thought that using AI companies for your business wasn't an issue. I had several people express to me their concerns. I see both sides now. I love the ER packaging at the end of the day.
So like, instead of saying "omg, why should we care when everyone else is also a fuckup?" why don't you share the companies that you found so we can all start calling them out too? People losing their jobs to machines is one thing, but people actively having their work stolen by machines to gain money to someone else is a whole other thing that is terrible to defend. There are gonna be laws put in place and these people are gonna get in trouble eventually. Just because someone you like is doing something wrong, doesn't mean it's not wrong.

@TheEtherny I don't disagree with you. Except the Machine part. I try to avoid Walmart at all costs for a similar reason. Their prices didn't go down when they replaced cashiers with their checkout machines. They just tossed the cashiers and kept the money they saved not paying them. Then they made us start doing the work of the cashier while still paying the same prices. There are companies all across the board doing shady things to save money. Is it right? Is it wrong? Could be arguments for both. I'm just overall tired of brand after brand.... always something... always a flurry of drama... then it goes away without any real resolution and the next drama is started. It's just old. And at this point it's happened so many times I think a lot of us just don't care anymore.

I have the seahorse and of course Heather Austins palette but I also got ninhydrin and minka . Some shades in minka were too much for my lids … I’m hoping this one is very similar to heathers and the ninhydrin formula . The Seahorse is like a one and done for me and more sheer ! You will enjoy this formula 🥰 it is beautiful!! There are 7 textured shimmers and 2 that are smooth and 2 that are more traditional shimmers. There is a nice mix of finishes for everyone🙌

Ensley Reign packs well can't say the same for klarity.
I bought 1 Klarity palette one time, and it was the most fragile palette I've ever had. I will never buy from that brand again.
From what I understand, a lot of brands do unaffiliated influencer codes, to save the customer a bit of money off. Why target Ensley Reign for that? It’s a silly controversy if you ask me.

This palette is stunning!! In your opinion do you think the shades are squishy or gel like?? I’ve wanted to try them for awhile but after trying the adept samarian sunset palette and realizing how gel like the shades are I’m more hesitant now with pricey palettes. The adept one always creases and wears off on me so fast but wow these Ensley reign shimmers really are so pretty 😍
I just counted for you. There are 7 squishy shades and 4 that are not that wet textured feeling.

It's good to know that they are working with a lab more directly now. I saw that they shared that they buy some AI art from an AI art seller on Etsy who sells the AI-generated art quite cheaply. So interesting that affiliates only get store credit until you get up to $4999 in credit. Is that how it normally works with other brands? (I know from talking to another small creator that she got paid for Glamlite affiliate codes without a huge threshold.) I had heard that they paid the creator they collabed on a palette with in store credit....but I don't know if that is actually true or not. I wonder if that is what happened...that they didn't sell up to $4999? It's confusing. I read more controversial things as well. All of it makes me cautious of buying from the brand. Not cancelling anyone but I think, for me, it's a no for now.

Yeah, there's a lot going on with ER. I personally really enjoy the brand, but I understand they aren't for everyone. That's why I wanted to make sure I filmed this so buyer's can decide for themselves if they want to support ER or not.

Do you think shimmers are different enough from other Easley Rein palettes?
I have 2 more ER palettes out for delivery right now. Let me look at all of them together and I'll let you know tonight 🤍🤍
So I just looked and I do think they are different from the other palettes. Cold Moon has 2 silver shades that are pretty close, but other than that, I think the shimmers are unique to the palette. I don't see a lot of overlap ✨ I have Twisted Tea Party, Lands of Enchantment, Flower Moon, Harvest Moon, and Strawberry Moon.

I really like the formula and palettes I have and the owner has been nothing but nice to me as well however just because it doesn’t affect me personally doesn’t make everything ok. I wish indie brands would sell matted flat versions of palettes. I wanna hang that on my wall ❤❤❤ and light doesnt really reach my eyelids, so multichromes are always just the darkest shift... Saves me money tho! PS upon learning they used AI art, which is automatically scammy imo, i amend my statement to OTHER palettes where the creative work was entirely done by paid humans.

The price of their palettes would go way up if they had to pay an artist to create the artwork. AI is unfortunately the future, and I am an artist. I don’t personally want my work on ChatGPT or any of this other AI sites, but I do believe it is here to stay. I don’t personally care one way or the other if a makeup palette uses AI or a commissioned artist, I will buy what I like. I like Ensley Reign, and have several of their palettes. I much prefer their formula to boring Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona, whose prices are also up there, and I don’t believe their quality is any better. In fact, their shimmer, multichrome game is very lame compared to Indie brands. I have had good customer service experiences with this brand, and horrible service with Pat McGrath. So for me, Indie is the way I am going from now on.

I never supported the brand because of their old name tbh! It wasn't even the fact that they had a slur as their brand name, but rather the fact that when confronted about it (over & over again) they repeatedly doubled down & insisted that it was ok & they didn't understand why people were making such a big deal 💀 Since then I've steered clear. I have friends in the community who have been used by the brand. I have friends who haven't received their affiliate earnings & btw idk if you've ever looked at the earnings sheet the brand has, but some of the products you don't get any earnings for! It's weird. I could go on & on, but i won't. I'll just say that the outrageous pricing + the use of ai generated art is disappointing but in no way surprises me from this brand. They make gorgeous palettes but my money will remain safe 🤭 Thank you for the content! 💜

@@blendofdaysMaybe the brand didn’t actually think their old name was a slur because it’s only a slur to people in the US. Also their pricing is actually not expensive when the palettes are filled with multis that are better or similar to singles from TM, Devinah, Clionadh etc. Plus you’re getting pretty decent mattes. I can honestly say I was more satisfied with their palettes than I was with my recent TM order.
I had been wondering about their artwork I won’t support a brand that doesn’t support real artists.

It’s a free world (mostly), so they can choose whatever they want to design their packaging. They could pay an artist, or buy computer generated artwork. It really doesn’t matter. Either way, they’re paying for their artwork on the packaging. It’s not the first brand to use computer generated artwork, and it’s not going to be the last.

Im sorry, but when I learned the drama concerning the brands use of AI I couldnt roll my eyes any harder. In todays society people seem to find anything and everything to complain about, or "cancel". Its just ridiculous imo. For everyone complaining, I hope you are buying local/indie/small business in all your purchases... if not then I'm sorry, you're a hypocrite. Like giving your money to starbucks instead of a small business coffee shop or buying books at Barnes and Noble instead of a small business bookstore. Or buying factory made artwork or decor for your home instead of supporting local artists. Its the same concept as the brand using AI instead of paying an artist for cover art.
