Picture yourself at 15, struggling to find your muse and away from home, your friends, and your culture. You find yourself riding a meteor...because your cover of Enter Sandman that you just wanted to share with family, went viral while you were away on a cruise. Though you had a dream to play music you never expected you'd get invited to be on the Ellen Show and with her help you now find yourself at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Now, here you are, on a deadline to deliver an original song for a homework assignment that you've had days to complete and it's been a struggle. What comes next? Pure magic. I think it's a perfect rock song. Amen. This song means a lot to those of us who know exactly where Dany was in her head when she wrote this.
Daniela uses her voice better than many 20-30 year music veterans can. It is both an instrument and a weapon. All three girls are light years ahead of many other acts twice their age.
She's learned so much in the last 5 years, she's a really solid vocalist.
The secret: they live music 24 hours a day since they were children! And practice, practice, practice (hard work) get to the perfection! :)

Fantastic performance. Dany looked and sounded especially inspired when they played it last year in Boston (no surprise). I hope that they bring back more from XXICB with time.
When I'm alone is a special song! This song is one for the very sad moments of loneliness that Dany shared with us. I am grateful for her openness and I miss similar songs on the third album. I love sad songs and this one is one of my most favorite of all that I have heard in my life.

@@michaelklassen777 Yep, I see this as completely "Dany's song". I believe she wrote it at college when she was feeling pretty homesick. Notice there isn't a single back-up vocal in the whole song which is very unusual for The Warning songs, and notice the lighting for the first verse and right in the final line where you can see nothing but Dany. This one is all about her, It's very special to her.

On top of that she had a new song to submit the following day as part of homework. And she had nothing ready; not even in the mood to create anything. Totally down but not out Dany composed When I'm Alone through that night. The reason this song is so special to her. Last month in Madrid she somehow managed to hold back her tears when the Spanish crowd joined in to sing When I'm Alone in English. So much so that at the end an anxious Pau asked her whether she was okay while Ale looked on with concern.

This song, written by a homesick Dany almost a decade back, certainly epitomizes McCartney's philosophy. You don't need to drive a song at 100 kmph through 20 power chords & 30 rhythm breakdowns to create a masterpiece. The honesty of your heart is enough to touch our souls.

I played music on stage for most of my life, and this group has become one of my most favorite artists of all time. Incredible musicians and performers, been following for about 1 year. So incredibly talented and they have the greatest team behind them. Long live The Warning!!! Bravo!

Exactly 💯 these young women (now) are way ahead of their time! The most excellent song writing skills, playing skills as they are just 💯 percent perfect & professional as hell! And they all sing major parts in songs. But Dani's voice and vocal skills OMFG! Unbelievable! I'm so excited to just see what they come up with next. They have more No. 1 hit songs in their catalog before they all where 19 yo! Just magnificent rock and roll music.
How are they not on every radio in the world?
My local rock stations never play them or mention them as if the don't even exist. I've emailed them several times, along with local concert promoters and clubs and they all shrug.
It's infuriating they have been writing GOLD like this for YEARS and are still not a household name.

Because these are not the intellectual '70s, '80s. They would have become household names then just by publishing Queen of the Murder Scene.
Nowadays people don't listen to lyrics or judge a band by what they are saying through their songs. Almost everyone wants a headbanger with incontextual guitar, drum solos & expletive laden lyrics screamed at them.

Look at their crowds. Their audience is solidly with rockers of the 70's and 80's who also happen to make up 95% of radio's audience. Young people don't even know what a radio is. They need to sign with a major label. LAVA isn't cutting it.
@@FixNewsPlease They are with the biggest label in the world. Universal/Republic. LAVA is a sub-label. That isn't the issue. Their first label album did not sell particularly well. So they are in a bit of a hole for label investment. But I am confident they still believe in them and it will work out. They need one hit and they will be off to the races.

@@FixNewsPlease Greta Van Fleet is also with LAVA, and they seem to be doing better at least in terms of public recognition and radio play (and they got to support Metallica in South America, which one could argue TW could have done as well if not better). Not sure if it's a bias against TW because they are all female, from Mexico, or what. They are so articulate and charming in interviews, I don't know why LAVA isn't pushing to get them onto late night talk shows. etc. to get more recognition in the US.
This is real music, about real feelings, performed so well you can feel it too. It's unbelievable how good The Warning is! The talent, the stage presence, the songs, the connection with the crowd, everything about them is exceptional.

Beato te Francesco, peccato che il tour europeo non abbia toccato l'Italia, avrei voluto esserci. Per me sono talento allo stato puro, ho seguito e visto dal vivo tanti gruppi storici (U2, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Guns N'Roses, ecc..) e mai nessuno ha saputo darmi le stesse emozioni che provo da quando, un paio di anni fa, ho scoperto queste 3 ragazze.

@@egloblam This is almost a rock ballad. I do not like to classify the band as a whole under the same rock or metal umbrella, that depends on the song but that's a different conversation. They sound great on every song and every performance. It is very refreshing to hear young bands sounding like this. Rock has hope! Rock will never die!!

I've seen alot of your performances of this song as it's one of my favourites,but this one is definitely the best 😊, Dani your voice and guitar playing is absolutely spot on perfect,ale your bass playing is brilliant,and pau your drumming is absolutely fantastic as always, you must be one of the if not the best drummer out there at the moment 😊,I could listen to this 20 time's in a row and never tire of how good it sounds ❤️x

Excellent, another awesome video from Teatro.
The Teatro Metropolitan concerts happened between two legs of their Halestorm tour. I saw them on that tour 22 days before this concert -- at Arizona Financial Theater in Phoenix. It was the only show in the Halestorm / The Pretty Reckless / The Warning / Lilith Czar leg of the tour in a venue letting in no natural light. The lighting director for the Phoenix concert absolutely slayed it.. and the band hired him for the Teatro Metropolitan concerts.
This song shows you why.
Dany begins in darkness.. with a slow transition to Dany in Cameo lighting (just her, her guitar and mic stand; no light for the background).. staying in Cameo lighting until the end of the first chorus when he brings up the house lights for 5,000 people to shout "When I'm Alone"
The song ends cold on the phrase When I'm Alone. As the lights go down.. one spotlight stays on Dany just for a second as the last echoes of the final note of the song disappear.

So incredibly well stated. The lighting concept becomes part of the story and it works beautifully. I wept when I saw this on the live stream as they played it. Then, I got to live with it behind the wall on Patreon when it was released there knowing just how powerful this performance was. I couldn't wait for it to become public. This is artistry in every conceivable measure. I confess, having seen this dozens of times, that I still tear up because its just that moving. The perfect rock song, written by a 15 year old, that is still moving people 8 years later. That is just who they are. That's just what they do.
