    I have had ONE shave ice from a block shaver. I can't compare as well as some. I used to worry our product wasn't as nice, but not any more. The reason-customers LIKE our shaved ice just fine and come back for more. They like our flavors too. I now say to myself, "it is what is." There is often ice refrozen together at the bottom. Other than that, it is not like a snow cone. Flavors must not be too cold or they won't pour in well and run over the top. Don't pack too hardin the topper.

    Had a Gold Medal Block Shaver, I admit it was fast, great ice & so, but many times got stalled cuz running out of ice blocks, & the machine was huge & heavy, to repair it, was another problem, so 2 years ago, switched to a Hatsuyuki HC-8E, the ice is about as good as the ice block shaver, the good thing is, I can run to the closest gas station & I can get bags of ice cubes & I'm still going, that's my advantage, oh & it's lighter, I like the cube shaver better, not as slow as they said

    Our snowie 3000 is one tempermental machine. It is fast, but wastes a lot of ice. Still hoping to find one of those great locations as competition is getting stiffer. At our good events, we can do $100 - $150 an hour with 2 people. If I were to do it over, I would TRY a block shaver, a Hatsuki 8 and a Snowie 1000 and 3000. Adv of Snow and H are cube ice, but hard to create anything but the cup shape with it. Nice video.

    I'm 14 and looking for a summer job. This always crossed my mind but I'm afraid of the cost. With the stand and the machine and favors and cups, I'm a little worry to get started because I would probably need the money for it.

    • @danielfiorini7587
      @danielfiorini7587 Před 4 lety +1

      Not probably. You need the money to get started. Rob a bank.

      Ask your local bank. Dress nice. Tell them the new generation of kids are more inovative and smarter. They may think you are for real. And give u a loan. If mom n dad co sign. Don't give up

    Ice will get stuck in the machine if you get too cold...below 10? As they told me, you can pour water in from the top to help warm up the ice. We also use a long spoon and pull some out of the way. Machine doesn't bog down or stop. We use ice from an all in one machine Safeway or Albertsons have. Bigger cubes. Gas station merch often are frozen together out here. I still suggest trying different machines before you plunge.
