- The U.S. government doesn’t value our children. Their future is being stolen from them. As a parent, watching this all play out is beyond frustrating.
We must raise our children differently than we were raised. College, jobs, home ownership, healthcare, debt, food costs … it’s time to reframe how we live and prepare our children for a different future.
Thanks so much for watching and supporting my channel and family!

What are you doing to better prepare our children for their future? ❤
I'm deathly afraid of the possibility of a dictatorship in this country.
My social security was paid into the system by ME and my employers via the payroll tax. No one else contributed money to that, so nothing has been taken from anyone.
As the parent of 2 young adult children I do recognize that they are facing difficulties that my generation (boomer) didn't have. And I agree that people are making different decisions on how to live. The American dream as we once thought of it is becoming out of reach. I don't know what the answer is, but do know living below your means and not getting sucked into consumerism will help
Teach them resilience, and help them develop a variety of skills and ways to earn a living. Look for professions and trades that won't be replaced by AI, for instance nursing, plumbing, electric. Teach them frugality. Help them start saving from a young age. Help them avoid student debt by charting a realistic and affordable educational path. Help them get off screens and interact with nature and real people. Help them keep perspective, knowing that they're still far more prosperous than most of the world and most people throughout history.
Thank YOU for keeping it real and showing DATA. America needs to wake up
Interesting and sad. I am a tail end boomer early 1960's. My husband and I both worked all our lives till my husband had second round of cancer in 2018 and looking at the cost of my job transportation, clothing, being too tired to cook and buying fast food way to much and all the doctor visits my husband was having to go to and treatments we decided it was more cost effective for me to stay home and focus on him. We did not have children. Back in the mid 90's we bought a tiny little home 672 sq feet in a unpopular neighborhood $34,900 for a 2 bedroom ranch. It has a large back yard and front yard and I really started focusing more on growing a garden and Canning everything I could get. As workers we paid in to social security which will go to the next generation retiring which I guess is Gen X. While I don't have children I was surrounded by neighborhood children who hung out with us all the time growing up.. I taught them to Can, to make candles and soaps, I taught them to be frugal and I am now hanging out with their children and teaching them some of the same things. Being Frugal isn't just a "thing" anymore it is Survival. I bring all the boys over to my yard and show them what I am planting and the magic of watching it grow. I planted a Cherry tree in my front yard and they watch every year for the cherries to come on and climb in the tree to get some. I guess some of my point is whether you have children or not, you can share your knowledge and teach them skills to survive. My young friend who I watched grow from a baby and she's now 26 and has 4 boys said one day "Anna you are most frugal person I know". I am still learning by watching videos like this and keeping aware of what is going on in our country. Oh and my home? It is paid in full now and it will go to my young friend for her children to live in when they are adults. I will never sell it nor will my young friend. The plan is when I am unable to care for myself they will help they live across the street in a home her mother owns that she will own when her mother is gone along with the house her mother lives in. What we do need is more homes built instead of high rise apartment buildings which sadly even my area will have in the next 10 years plans to build 6 story apartment buildings across the street from my little neighborhood. Anna In Ohio
That was a wonderful story. I love the way you are interacting with the younger generation and teaching them such valuable skills😊
you have a kind and generous heart....leaving your home to someone who will cherish it...thats a good thing.....I don't think she should have had 4 children though ?? not sure why people are still doing that...the world is horribly overpopulated now.....oh well.....I hope she appreciates what she has in your friendship.......I had a good older friend....and my apartment burned down.....and I am now homeless...my friend" always made fun of me for not having $$$ etc...kept saying she did things right and I must not have to end up this way.....then she went on to rub it in my homeless face that she was leaving her house to her church when she died......ugggggg mean stupid woman.....how cruel can you be..........so glad there are nice ones like you out there....
My parents are boomers and played by all of the rules. Even they are now admitting that they would not have achieved what they did if they were in my or my brother's boat who tried to follow a similar path. My brother went to law school and graduated like my dad but he can only find contract work and rents an apartment. My dad at that point owned a home and supported a wife and two kids and took vacations. They used to not feel this way but they are not denying it anymore. We cannot follow their pattern and expect the same result. It is nothing against boomers but they must stop criticiszing us (the ones that do) to not clear our own path for the future. I get a lot of lectures from older people about my nomadic lifestyle but I simply earn more money this way. Thank you Katie & Fam.
Live extreem frugal, help my daughter out during school holiday; put money in the schoolfund of the grandchildren; pray for them every day
Here is the really the American dream has become a nightmare where the country is giving billions to other countries and neglecting Americans. The definition of insanity is created by people who keep voting for the same old politicians hoping for a better future 💔💔💔
A lot of what you say is true but we don't have gun violence in canada. Society has changed since the birth control pill was invented and double incomes. I am a child of the 50's and my mother had 5 kids by the time she was 30. We were not cottled or spoilt because there were too many of us. Men respected women and married them and we didn't expect to live like rich people. Nobody lived together and had there first kid at 40. We had no charge cards or lines of credit was unheard of. We saved and lived within our means. Going into debt was considered Immoral. There was no such thing as student loans when I went to college. If you didn't have the money you didn't go. When we got married it was unheard of to go into debt for a fancy wedding and honeymoon trip. Most people paid for their cars and did not go into debt for them.
100 percent true
That’s my experience too. I remember the first credit cards and the first health insurance. Everything nice went on layaway & we shopped at the five and dime.
I think if more people lived the why you do right now would take a lot of stress off people. A person doesn't need thousands of dollars to be happy.
8/15/71 is when they took us off the gold standard. Now, the US Dollar is literally just a debt receipt lmao. In the old days you could literally trade in your cash for real money- gold or silver coin - at your local bank.
I call our problem “end stage fiat money”.

I’m so scared for this next generation too. My boys are 10 and 13.
My husband and I in our 30s realized we needed to flip our lives into a different lifestyle.
The “typical” lifestyle is not sustainable.
We now have a small farm, our son will live on property. We insist on only space actually NEEDED for ourselves to keep taxes as low as possible, No Mac Mansions. We are a one vehicle family, I run homestead, husband works regular job. Son is working on multiple ways of bringing income while helping on the farm. We are encouraging him to be just as frugal. While we do purchase things and splurge at times, it’s more necessity than for pleasure. Always fixing, repurposing, not focusing on having the latest or greatest. Thinking long term on what needs to be done for future needs. We still need lots of things put in place but at least we started. Too many people have waited for “the right moment” to make changes, and many have not prepared for their childrens future, acting as if times would always be good. We were looked at as a bit odd when we left convenience for the more challenging lifestyle. More and more the comments are changing, not so much talk of how we are crazy but that people wished they had done what we did when options were more readily available. It’s not always easy or comfortable when times are good or your young to realize that that is when you should be preparing for the not so good of times for you and those you care about.
Another great video.
It is important to highlight to Americans just how terrible the maternity leave system is. In Australia, the government will pay 20 weeks parental leave to the primary care giver. Other developed countries offer 52 weeks paid. The US government has really let its families down.
Also, I would home school as well if I lived in the US. I would not feel safe sending my child to school. No parent or child should have to live in fear in that way.
I aspire to live a more simple life like yours.
Childfree and zero worries.
In the ‘50s, we had bomb drills. (Get under your desk and cover your head. Like that would do anything.) Life is not all pretty. But you’re right, we need to try to improve life for future generations.
Thank you for shedding the light on these issues. Your message really hit me, even though I already know😢 Income inequality and lack of investment in young people are at the heart of this all.
These issues are going in the same direction here in Canada, although we have much less gun violence and universal healthcare for all.
I am teaching my teenager to be as self sufficient as she can, essentially teaching her skills my depression era grandma taught me 🙏
I teach her to be kind and respectful and to know that true happiness is not achived with money (although miney is necessary to an extent), take good care of all things she has, be creative with how to make an income, save and I am teaching her financial literacy. Investing is key. Even if she saves a little but start investing now, she can have a decent nest egg. We spend a lot of time talking about how to be ready for change, have many options, acquire different skills and always look to solve problems and help others. Essentially to be resilient even in seemingly impossible situations.
As housing options, we talk about laneway houses, tiny houses, house hacking, boat houses etc. Options and growth mindset. We must sow hope and truly, sow seeds and olant trees for the nexr generation, so that they too will enjoy the abundance of our beautiful Earth and live a life of meaning. 🙏💕 Thank you so much for this message. You inspire me ❤
IMHO the housing situation is a short term problem. As boomers die off, there's going to be more houses available than we'll know what to do with. Just hope they're sold to families and not all these investment bankers that are turning them into rentals.
We are tail end boomers that will likely work until we are unable to. We have always lived frugally and had modest incomes, and we were fortunate to purchase the house we still live in and raised our children in from a foreclosure more than 30 years ago. It's bigger than what we need now, but we could never afford to go anywhere else. Efficiency apartments near us are renting for nearly $2,000 per month! Our door is always open to any of our children should they need to come back and several of them have either lived here for a time to save money and/or are storing things in the basement because where they live is small for families with young children. As each grandchild has been born, we have opened and fund ESAs for them each year. That's not easy for us, but we want to do something to help them. We forego vacations, eating out, entertainment that costs money, etc. to help our family. For those in town, we're always available to be free baby sitters so they don't need to pay for any child care. We worked opposite shifts when our children were young to avoid the cost of child care. It is definitely harder now, but it was also harder for us than it was for our parents. My mom stayed home with us. We all need to help each other, be adaptable and willing to change our expectations, and be kind to others - you never know what struggles they have. It broke my heart to see a homeless person today out in the heat by the roadside hoping for some help. He had an umbrella to shade his dog while he tried to provide for them. He was on the opposite side of the road, so I couldn't stop to offer him anything.
I agree. My mom stayed home with me. She kept my kids some for me to work, and I in return have kept my grandkids. We give to our grandkids, by the way of saving for college as well. I think there are struggles and hurdles for each generation, but I also believe if you work hard, and teach your kids to work hard, there will always be a way.
Nothing will change until enough American voters care enough to vote for change. Too many Americans continue to vote for politicians who will do nothing to try to improve these issues.
I highly doubt you will pay federal taxes with your very low income and child tax credits. You have learned to beat the system. If everyone does what you are doing, where will the system be???
I’m a mother of two girls in their late 20s and early 30s This breaks my heart. ❤

I'm not seeing in my city what you're seeing. The average house price is now $650,000 in my city in Canada! That's outrageous, right!? So, shouldn't the restaurants, coffee shops & bars all be going out of business? Shouldn't the airlines be going out of business. Wouldn't any logical person cut these expenses before risking homelessness?
Well, everyone is still spending, spending, spending like they "deserve" restaurant meals and fancy vacations.
You and your family are the rare exceptions and everyone else needs to get their act together; get their heads out of the sand and get busy looking for solutions for their future.

Consumer debt is at an all time high 😬 Most people are charging and racking up debt instead of changing their lifestyles. I mean, it’s great for corporate profits 🫠
That’s because the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. There’s people not struggling at all.

The best thing to do is separate yourself from the status quo. Dont listen to the news or expect anyone on this earth to rescue you. Dont be a victim, take responsibility for yourself and ypur children. You can do this but you're going to have to think outside the box and be different. Be content and work hard.

Since the US economy is the best in the world post Covid, just give it time. Hopefully you revisit this topic in a couple of years and compare things then to your video today. All the best!
Some points seem valid I think. My husband and I are baby boomers. I hear people complain in our state but everyone has a nice home and car and people are pretty big so I know they r eating well. I don’t want to make light of our economy but I think of other countries and the poverty and I can only feel grateful. And try to help others when we can. I feel that my husband and I live a simple life we love Jesus and feel very content and blessed. I will pray for ur family. I’m glad u can live on such a nice piece of land.
Hi Katie 🌻
Good to see You again 🌟
Great video.❤❤❤❤God bless you.
My granddaughter will be going to a university this fall. She has excellent grades and has received several scholarships. My son and DIL has stated that if they had all the money they paid for the childcare years, they could fully pay for her university tuition. There is seriously something wrong with the system. To provide for your family, you need to work. To work, you need childcare! Viscous cycle! God Bless Our Children and Grandchildren 🙏🙏
OR PEOPLE COULD JUST STOP HAVING KIDS>>>>IT IS CALLED CONDOMS>>>>>JUST DON"T HAVE KIDS >>>>>THE WORLD IS OVER FULL ALREADY.....I don't get why people haven't figured this out yet....
When I was in LA in 2018, I noticed NONE of the homeless were immigrants. If this were true, Americans need to learn from the immigrants how they do it.
Most of our homeless have mental or physical health conditions that are untreated because they do not have access to healthcare. Immigrants are generally able-bodied.
GOD AND FAMILY ARE IMPORTANT TO THEM,AND THEY STICK TOGETHER.
The dream isn’t dead, it’s just changing. Yes, degrees and typical job strategies aren’t working anymore. This is the age of entrepreneurship and carving out your own, self-reliant path. We’re not victims of anything.
Agreed we can not get sucked down the victim road. That isn’t going to help. Forge new ways. Other generations have had hard times too

Before I even watch the video, I agree with the thumbnail 110%.... we just lost our home to a tornado and despite working, paying taxes and renters insurance we are screwed. And the "help" doesn't really exist. I've made my son (17) start a Roth IRA already, but this seems hopeless. This country is a mess in every way.

Vote for Trump everyone knows the country was in better shape for things that you’re talking about in 59 years old I was born in 1965 I’ve seen many presidents but Trump did the most good the second one was Ronald Regan to boost the economy and make it easier to live !!
Cool
The upward prosperity bubble has definitely burst.
The problem is parents raising their children to be entitled. If you cannot afford to go college, go to a tech school or get a blue collar job. They sometimes pay more. If you cannot afford to pay cash, do not buy it. Get a used car, shop at thrift stores, live in a mobile home, or buy a fixer home that you can make repairs yourself. Do not depend on the government to take care of you and your children. Vote against these politicians that are bringing in people from other countries just to get votes for their party. The American people will have to pay for them with raised taxes. Katie has the right idea with their homestead. She and her family will survive with hard work.
Yes!!! 👏👍
100% Yes!
💯
I do believe in some programs, FHA and Veterans home programs.
All children should eat, we pay now or later.
Many baby boomers worked full time while going to college, why they let their children take on debt of $100,000 to $500,000 is beyond me. It’s still possible to go to college and graduate debt free or for $3,000. That could be paid off in a full time summer job.
Tech schools cost the same as college. More in some cases.
SOME people are doing all the things you listed and still not able to survive.....you don't understand...some people get caNCER...SOME people are all alone and don't have family to help them or friend to help them...some people have horrendous circumstances that are BEYOND their control
We suggested that our oldest son and family move back in with us for a year and a half, no rent, we paid groceries to allow for them to save for a down payment, impossible for them to afford a rental and save at same time. We are now doing the same for our youngest two kids. We didn't need that growing up, my husband bought his first house at 23 on a teamsters salary, very tough to do that now.
This was common in my area in 1980s. Only way to save. Usually it was a young married couple living in a 10x11 bedroom with parents and siblings to save for a FHA loan, meaning 3% down and 3% closing.
In 1985, the same things were said. It seems every generation says the same thing. Mine said it also. We faced 21% interest rates and 18% inflation. My parents interest rates were 2-3% and inflation near 0%. This generation faces 3-4% inflation and 7% interest rates. I’m not trying to downplay everyone’s struggles just pointing out the facts.
Some of statistics quoted were the same when I was growing up just not reported. My family alone would have accounted for probably 1,000 incidents over the years. Spankings with a belt of whip were acceptable. Slaps were acceptable. Girls were cautioned not to report sexual assaults because then boys would assault them thinking they are promiscuous. It was alway our fault, always. Because boys/men don’t attack everyone. You did something, you smiled, you smiled too long at them, your below the knee skirt was 1 in too long. You wanted it. Even today babies are blamed for being s#xually assaulted, The Duggars are a perfect example of a large group of people with this thinking. By no means am I saying these things are ok, just that they have always happened. The statistics are about the same when I was growing up. (Instead of guns, it was knives and group against group).
The bottom line is people find a way to accomplish or do something if they truly want it, if it is important enough to them. You are a perfect example. In my area, you could be making $120,000 a a daycare provider. Your husband could be making $120,000 as a daycare provider. Your 18 yr old could be making $120,000 as a daycare provider. You would have a household of $360,000, or $240,000 for just you two. I’m not saying what you should do, just what a possibility would be. An 18yr can make $120,000 a yr. This would comfortably allow a $360,000-$400,000 home at 18yrs old.
We all make choices - what to eat, what to expend our energy on, what to wear, what to say - choices. Whatever your choices are will determine your present, past and future.
I'm a boomer and I totally get it.
Im a truck driver this why im buying a full size conversion van to live in, a college defree dont means nothing. I been working since Micheal Jackson was black. This economy is terrible
It looks like I finally made the 1%. I am over 55, and I am not at all proud to be an American and have felt this way for quite a while.
My generation X which is next to retire has saved up so much for retirement with in the last two years, it isn’t enough now needed twice as much for retirement - that took years to save up
Stop whinging. Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country
Do you want to know where your money is going? The US has been at war 229 out of 247 years since 1776 which makes it 92.7 percent of the time in their history. There are over 800 military bases located in foreign countries worldwide.
America wastes a lot on a lot of programs outside our country. 800 are just what they publish, I’m sure there are other secret ones.
People still having kids and blaming society. If you are not financially secure then kids are not for you
LOL. People who can’t afford them been having children for millennia. Children are affordable. It depends on what you want to sacrifice and invest. Cloth diapers, hand me down clothes , a cut down cardboard box bed (or free crib on Craigslist), breast milk, carry your baby everywhere in a wrap (vs. a stroller), you do need an inexpensive car seat (free on Craigslist), one bedroom apartment converted dining area to kids bedroom when older. Will you be able to afford a French Parisian vacay every year and the Bahamas in winter, probably not. Plus you get a $2,000 tax credit for every child.
Choices people, choices!
Have you looked at the substantial increase in the size of homes over the years? In the last 25years the size of homes has increased 22.8%. That is certainly part of the reason for the increase in the price. Go back to the 1950's and 60's and you will see that the size of homes has increased even more since then. I'm not saying that you're a bad parent. I think you're a good one but there are a lot of bad parents out there. Parents need to make rules and enforce them. Get the kids off social media so they won't be bullied there and won't be someone bullying someone else there. We played outside. We had to do our chores and our homework before we were allowed to go out to play. We had some chores we had to do because we were part of the family. We had other chores we could do to earn some money so we could buy a candy bar or an ice cream cone when the ice cream truck came by. Teach kids a work ethic. If kids are wanting to go to college make it a local college, help them find scholarships, and grants that don't have to be paid back. Some kids are better off going into a trade. Some of the trades start paying as soon as the person starts the internship. So they're making money while they're learning. Yes, there are problems and our society is part of that. But so are the parents. Teach kids skills that they can use to save and make money. And if you don't agree with me that's fine. I know I'm not the subscriber you're aiming for.
I do agree with you 😊
Growing up there were 6 of us in a 3b/1.5ba, 1,000 sqft split level, very poor insulation. Our house was rich because we had the extra 1/2 bath. We were very much house rich, money poor. The house was in a lower class area, we could barely afford it and only qualified because dad was a veteran and both my parents worked full time in 1961.
Nit necessarily true..
I don’t understand how our house prices have doubled and our govt doesn’t think they should do something about that.
As for college that explosion in tuition prices occurred due to Sally Mae. When the colleges realized no matter how high they raised tuition kids would just pay it by taking out more and more loans they just raised the prices as far as they think we will go along with it. People need to get off this train. We need to stop borrowing for college. There are so many ways to do this. But eventually the schools will get the message that we aren’t stupid and we aren’t going to keep playing their game. At the very least start at a community college and live at home for the first two years. Get excellent grades and apply to every scholarship you possibly can. Make scholarship applying a job. You will make way more than any minimum wage job per hour for your time. Take duel enrollment classes for college credit in high school.
Absolutely! My grandson just graduated from a community college with an Associate Degree in Welding Technology. He has already been working for a welding company for a year while going to school full time! He has no student loan debt and a bright future ahead. It is the skilled jobs that will always be needed. My daughter is a nurse, and my two sons also graduated from community colleges. No student loan debt for them either. Why wouldn’t young people think about that first. I encouraged my kids to go that route. Had they gone to a big university, either they or my husband and I would have had to take loans. Community College Always!!
$100 million in unclaimed, unspoiled for scholarships in 2022.
Why should I pay for a college degree in unemployment? So many degrees do not have a specific path to a career. Why not put the blame on the colleges themselves? They raise their fees every year and add more “requirements “ to graduate. The average college student is in school for 6 years to obtain a. 4 year degree. Are you willing to pay for a tradesmen to buy tools, a vehicle, insurance, training and then pay them a livable wage?
It is possible to get a degree and graduate debt free. If you can’t afford to pay cash for a 4yr University, get 30 credits free through online CLEP courses. Next go to community college by working full time summers. Transfer to a State University with in state rates. Live at home, work summers and maybe part time during school for Junior and Senior yr. My mom wanted to be a lawyer but the state paid for her degree to be a teacher so she taught. Go with what is free, cheap or doable without debt. Turn off your game tv/computer, tv, cellphone for anything but calls lasting 2 mins and focus on accomplishing your goals.
Identical circumstances here in the UK. My 17 year old has a year left in schooling and tells me all his dreams and future are already gone :-( I've no idea how to change anything
If he can find a job in Switzerland. Min wage is triple what we have in France or the uk. Don't give up. Europe.is collapsing. It's not the Young s fault.
Or maybe something with job corps in the usa. They provide housing. It's not military. Take care.
I almost unsubscribed, but here's what I have to say. Things are NOT harder for this generation. There has been no draft, your friends aren't getting their heads shot off in war, they aren't coming back traumatized, mutilated, and drug addicted. We had to start at rock bottom and no one but the elite kids could afford homes through the late 70s and 80s. I've lived in some real dives. We were required to give up a portion of our salary to Social Security. No choice. There is no "wealth transfer" to retirees. There is a huge wealth transfer going on now to a small number of families and corporations that own everything. Things do need to improve for the upcoming generation, but the education system is corrupt. Kids are being taught things that aren't true. They are not being properly taught anything, actually. Schools are indoctrination systems. I could go on for hours, but this is not the worst it's ever been. My parents went through a lot worse. We went through a lot, but not as bad as my parents. It's hard right now for my kids, but it won't always be this hard. Things change. But I blame the education system. They are being told the world is going to end, the US is a horrid country, the previous generation is stealing from them, etc. It's all crap, and that's why kids are suffering. They are constantly being lied to.
Oh my! How many years have you taught in public school? Teachers can barely teach anymore because of the behaviors kids are coming to school with. I have had kids in public school, I have homeschooled 2 of my 4 children, and now am a public school teacher. I have seen a lot from both sides and have not seen the things you are accusing teachers of.
Exactly!!! 👏👏👏
We had double-digit inflation, postponed homeownership, yet managed to live within our means, despite inflation. Most of us had solid two-parent families, and we all knew the difference between boys and girls. Our children were not indoctrinated by a socialist education system run by bitter feminists. Guns were common, but we had no school shootings. We valued our children, rather that having them chopped to bits before birth or dumping them in day care as infants. We lived within our means and planned for retirement, so don’t act like it’s unfair that older people are more financially stable.
I am unsubscribing based on this whiny, entitled rant.
How do you know there won’t be a draft in the near future and what does that have to do with the topics she brought up? Did you go to war and get your head shot off? No? Because you’re still here commenting. I know people in my generation that went to war. Maybe you should listen to issues of the younger generations rather than getting caught up in your ego and what an amazing person you think you are based on your age.
@@jomr4249 You just proved Annajones point, silly girl! 🤣🤣🤣
@@jomr4249 there is no draft. If people are in war, they signed up for it. I do listen to issue of the younger generation. But the younger generation doesn't listen. My angst is that she said there is a wealth transfer to the boomer generation. That is not true.
I love how everyone is unsubscribing just because you are pointing out that younger generations today don’t have the same opportunity as previous generations to achieve the American dream… especially after the last few years!! Their ego is so big and they want to feel superior for what they have so they get angry when they can’t simply say “you’re just not working hard enough”…. Go look at the numbers and you’ll see that statement is false. Understanding the reality of the current situation shouldn’t be taken personally, it is what it is. When you stomp your feet and throw a tantrum when it’s pointed out makes you seem super immature and arrogant. The middle class is disappearing, point blank period. That WAS the American Dream.
People forget history. The Great Depression killed the middle class, then ground it up and burned it from late 1929 to late 1941. Even then from 1941-1947, American middle class struggled due to the war that ended in 1945. Then again in 1978-1984 with 21% interest rates, a major blow to the middle class. The very nature of our country’s structure guarantees times of boom and bust. The middle class will rise again.
Suicidal?
I'm from the UK, is it normal to refer to killing yourself/suicide as 'un-aliving yourself' in the US ? Ive never heard such a bonkers euphemism ! Mind you what can I expect from people who can't bring themselves to use the word toilet ! I have enjoyed your channel until now, watching your thrifty lifestyle and alternative way of living , but feel that I need to reassess my subscription now,
Well on social media you can’t really say “suicide” without the video being flagged as talking about harmful topics.
So the catch phrase no is un-aliving yourself. Rolling my eyes.👀
I wish you the best, but i think i will be unsubscribing as well. I just don't agree on most of your topics anymore. Good luck
I’m a Boomer. I have watched your channel and I am not in agreement with most things you are doing. You seem to think you know everything about the future. My question is when the money from the sale of your home runs out are one of you going back to work? Also do you have any investments? Do you plan to quit taking advantage of Medicaid? Btw free healthcare is not guaranteed to you for life. What happens when you get older and can no longer live off of the land? BTW we Boomers paid Social security for the generation before us. That is how the system works. You are not the only generation who pays for the elders. Another thing…. The zoning could change in your area for allowing rentals on your property. I just don’t think you will be able to sustain living like you do without any income right now. Sorry but you have not planned enough for your future. Also aren’t we supporting you by giving you free healthcare? My husband and I have worked hard all of our lives, We have paid off our property and home, invested in an IRA, and put money for close to 40 years in the system. Good luck to you but I’m very critical of your views.
You do know that tax payers ALL pay into the system for healthcare, including this family paying their property taxes, right? RIGHT? And unless you live in the same state Katie lives in, then No, you are not paying for her healthcare.
@@amydecker6207 The Medicaid program is jointly funded by the federal government and states.
The thing is, you experienced a different world than we did. The same things that worked for you isn’t working for us. You have the right to disagree, but just know it comes from a place of misunderstanding. My family does have an income. We do work. We pay taxes. We aren’t “taking advantage of Medicaid.” We have and are continuing to plan for our future. The fact that you cannot understand that after watching my channel for a while kinda proves my point 🙃
I agree with you what are they going to do when they're old enough to get Social Security won't be enough for them to live on
Why do you think we will only live on SS when we retire?
Bull
Unsubscribed you're getting a little too much for me
✌️
I understand your reasoning. But consider the saying take what you want and leave the rest. She has differing opinions. She also has other interesting contents from cooking, shopping, camping, gardening to thrift.
If none of that appeals to you anymore, it’s a good idea to move on.
Vote Trump to save America
🤮
You are correct! If Biden wins, our country is doomed.
Didn't vote the first second and I won't vote this time for Trump
@@debbieframpton3857 I’m not a fan of Trump but at this point a mongoose would be better than Biden.
#NEVERtrump
Vote for Trump everyone knows the country was in better shape for things that you’re talking about in 59 years old I was born in 1965 I’ve seen many presidents but Trump did the most good the second one was Ronald Regan to boost the economy and make it easier to live !!
