    Great using headsets. I like the arrangement and storage of the adapters, etc. I’ve never seen two light towers, just one normally, on an engine but I like it. Great organization, very well thought out. The hose bed is solid, shows great pride in their truck, job and organization. The department obviously takes pride and care in their equipment.

    Thank you my FF friend for doing and promoting how People can join a Volunteer program with these community FD stations you TOUR. NO experience just "WOW" a person can volunteer for their community by just checking it out, everyone has a special talent, put it to work as a volunteer FF. Help your community, please people in America give back to your home Town community. I love the slide out Tool tray in the compartment for the different Fitting. The canvas BAG for HYDRANTS is such a great alternative to say the aluminum steel BOX kits we use.

    Is it possible to explain the difference between a super pumper and a regular engine or what ever they are compared too? I’m not a fire fighter but still curious. Thanks . God bless all paramedics and fire fighters!!!!

    • @molassesflash
      @molassesflash Před rokem +4

      Super Pumpers like FDNY or the Neptune system or similar units are engines whose only jobs are water supply through drafting out of a river or lake or other naturally occurring water source for big water operations. The difference is that most standard engines have a pump size of 1000-2000 GPM (Gallon Per Minute). Some industrial engines can pump 3000 GPM, and the Super Pumpers can pump 5000 GPM or greater on some. The way engines are rated is based on the drafting capacity. So, a 1000 GPM engine off a hydrant may be able to flow 1250 GPM or so, but the max off a draft is 1000 GPM. So typically, super pumpers will not run hand lines or have any tools to fight fires. The only tools they will have is equipment to hook into hydrants and drafting from rivers and other water sources.

      YES thank you for talking about what FDNY had. Talking about the old school RIGS. The separate Tractor trailer (Pump only) and then the (support water flow) Pumpers, (super Pumpers) one of the TOY makers, made reproduction models of three of those RIGS, kicking myself for NOT adding to my collection.
      I do have all (5) of the Heavy FDNY Rescue models though. One through 5. It's so sad, my models are of some of the Rescue that were Destroyed on (9-11) Twin Towers. It's so nice the FDNY Donated RESCUE #4 ( that was at Twin Tower that Day) to the Hall of Flame museum in Phoenix Arizona. All Fire BUFFS & Firefighters should visit Arizona to go to the museum. My Retired Batt. Chief life long friend Donated his DADS (former Chief of Angle Lake Washington) FD#24. His recreation of a model (T) Chiefs vehicle. It's on Display there NOW. The big Storage Building behind the Museum is to DIE for with all the Donations inside that building. One is an American L France. From a (Motorola) CEO. He installed different (RADIOS) from Motorola through the Years in CAB. The Restoration he did on that Engine is one of the BEST have seen.

      In New York State, volunteer firefighters are not required to hold CDL of any form to drive apparatus for fire department related activities. However, if you were to buy that engine and own it privately, you would need CDL to drive it as it is no longer in public use. Departments, however, require the members to get cleared on an apparatus before they may drive it using in-house training, EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) through insurance companies or state training.
